Thinking is hard and going against consensus is difficult. People are mostly lazy sheep’s that follow the herd because it provides them with the most comfort. It’s pretty sad to see things like people committing slow economic suicide because they’re too lazy to ask real questions and pursue truths
It's horizonal enforcement vs top-down. Social pressures that mainly involve ostracization from peer groups. Happens in bitcoin too with ppl I call Orange NPCs

And most people just want to be left alone while having a scape goat (the other political party) to blame their troubles on.
Most people enjoy their confirmation bias.
It is inculcated from a very young age through government indoctrination centers: do as you are told, trust the experts, smart people can memorize lots of “facts” and regurgitate them on command, cooperation is the highest virtue, men and women are interchangeable, the government cares for you, taxes are so we can have nice roads, etc. Most can not break away because it requires rebuilding their entire worldview.
Wonder how diffrent it could be with a education system, that focuses on critical thinking, being responsibile and self reliant...
Will have to think about this more once I have children. I dread the day I have to find a solution gor their education.
I encourage you to homeschool your children. Self-directed study is by far the most effective approach to learning. I was homeschooled and I attribute much of my success to those years. I have been a self-starter all of my life because that is what homeschooling nurtured in me.
I entertain the possibility. But I believe its illigeal in Europe or at least in good old Germany 🤷♂️ Things need to get a lot worse before I would leave. If they manage to establish gender ideologies in kindergarten...that would be my line in the sand I believe.

Those that can ‘memorize lots of faxz’ really do have a huge edge in NPC world. Case in point: David Koresh (Branch Davidians in Waco) apparently had truly impressive regurgitation of Bible scriptures.
Koresh and followers were definitely not NPCs. So I don’t see your point. Rote memorization is useful and even necessary for many high level tasks. It is just that without ability to reason logically, a person can end up like a glorified parakeet.
It’s all fear, and the parasites in charge of the hive are very adept at propagating it.
Blind trust in authority without introspection = NPC
I don't understand it personally either, I can never think that way, but the psychology is well known.
Nietzsche wrote about slave morality, I think that's another strongly related concept.
It’s a combination of apathy, confusion, and fatigue. The mainstream news cycle is relentlessly pumping out something to engender fear, only to then bury it under a new alleged cause for concern, once the original concern doesn’t manifest/the story has been exhausted.
All the while, there’s no accountability if and when a retraction is warranted. So, the masses are beaten down, cannot keep up with the latest fear-of-the-day, and are genuinely unaware of who they can trust/what to believe.
IMHO, this all leads a lot of individuals to tune out or when pressed to simply take the path of least resistance in accordance with whatever the latest narrative is at the time.
Hypernormalization is the best term I have found for this condition. People know there are problems, they just don't know what to do. Even with paths out of this condition, the FUD fog makes it hard to exit.

Hypernormalisation is Kaczynski iirc. He definitely foresaw a lot of the fucked up shit the internet caused and how technology would become a method of state control that keeps us divided...

Whatever authority is signaling has become truth for NPCs. Actual truth for the majority of humanity has been lost for a long time. As long as they have blind authority acceptance, dissent will not occur. IMHO
Being put into a slave mindset from birth (or possibly before) by societies that believe they are somehow a) in need of salvation and b) are not worthy of being saved probably has something to do with it. I consider this the product of original sin, the greatest psyop ever perpetrated.
Our entire society is geared towards statism, which = scientism.
Leftism is a borg. Populist right get sucked in but are willing to dissent because “the science”/“the state” don’t occupy their religious hole whereas that’s entirely true for the populist left.
Bigger issue I see is that the leftists have completely foregone reason, rationality, and logic. They are simply imbued with opinions via narrative and question none of it.

I understand it better when I realize there is a part of me that loves the comfort, stability, and belonging I feel when I'm able to join the ranks of the collective strength. It seems evolution is served by some individuals lazily surrendering to the status quo to contribute to what has worked in the past, while others challenge the status quo to force change into something better. But how can you prove it's better without the war?

Unfortunately my experience is they have been programmed extremely well and are hardwired into their narratives.
Zebras hide in the herd so that they don't get eaten by lions. It's a similar psychology and, of course, renders the herd vulnerable to manipulation.
They experience something that many of us can barely rememer, as we likely had it taken away very early on.
It's an experience of a warm blanket, tightly wrapped around them, that means they are loved and accepted, that their nature is good, their intentions are known, that the world makes sense and their direction in life is meaningful.
You are wrestling that blanket away from them. They react to the cold winds that touch their naked skin for the first time in their unexamined lives.
