Call me crazy but I donโt believe women should have to work if they donโt want to.

Hello, crazy ๐ค
I donโt think this is even close to a crazy take
That's not crazy, but you do realize we already abolished slavery a long time ago? ๐
It's enshrined in the Irish constitution and they had a referendum to remove it.
They framed it as a sexist thing because it says "a woman shall not be forced to work to the neglect of her duties in the home".
It doesn't mean that she has to be a housewife, but rather that she should not have to choose between working and being a homemaker, it is realising the special importance of the homemaker.
They tried to trick the Irish public into removing it and we told them to go fuck themselves.
The Taoiseach (Prime Minister) resigned as a result of it, it was scandolous. Every NGO, all the media and all government officials were pushing for a yes, and yet the entire country, 75%, said no.
It was clear as day from that moment onwards, that the government is completely and utter out of step with the Irish public and work unianimously against their interests.
In other words, an enemy.
my wife hasn't worked since she married me.
But she has a full time job with 4 kids.
๐
Women should not be able to vote*.
The husband commands what she will work at. Of course, some restrictions should exist.
A disobedient wife can be punished corporally.
I'm with you on this one.
It's unnatural to them.
Yet they've been brainwashed to think otherwise.
They can't feel safe in their relationship if their financial contribution is necessary to keep the household going. They need to see their man as the safety provider or they'll lose attraction.
And if they lose attraction, the guy won't get laid and at that point it's basically over. Bad money is also the lead cause of the high breakup/divorce rates.
What about proof of work?
Are we talking fiat job or households?
Not crazy at all, i agree
Can't buy that McMansion, RV, boat, jet skis, Escalade, and a brodozer on one income.
I love how some men basically pimp their wives out so they can keep making payments. Peak fiat.
I SO feel this HOWEVER I have a REALLY hard time asking my husband for money. What if he makes some snide remark as to why I need money for X item or service? I have too many extra things I pay for that I just know he won't pay because he can't justify why I need or want it
It depends if they have a man that enables it.
Most boys sign away the next 30yrs for a mortgage based on 2 salaries trapping the family dynamic once the children arrive.
Greatest investment of my life is my wife raising my children instead of someone on minimum wage.
If they are ladies, and aren't morally compromised by temptation - I agree.
Does this assume they are married, or not?
Everyone has a purpose. For most women I suspect they find that in having a family. Those who want to contribute outside of the home should be encouraged and welcomed but those who chose to contribute by raising a family and keeping a house should be encouraged and celebrated with just as much vigor. Women are amazing. Especially my wife.
Even if they are single and have student loans? Whoโs picking up that tab?
Their father. Then later their husband. Iโm pretty traditional in worldview. The idea of an individual woman whoโs isnโt under anyones protection or provision is a modern illusion that appeared about 20 years ago.
This is based. Now bring back the age of marriage from 19th century America and we're golden.
Oh man, I run into a lot of problems when I say this out loud, but I truly believe and live by it: My wife does not work, and I will do my best to ensure my daughters donโt have to either.
Well they have to work. Just not a day job.
Housekeeping, cooking, homeschooling and raising children is a lot of work.
No wife of mineโฆ
Glad to know Iโm in good company on this one
Weโre all crazy. Also happen to agree.
Iโll do you one better, both men and women shouldnโt be forced to work against their will. It should be a voluntary exchange. I know itโs an edgy take. But thatโs me.
I agree. People do better work when they love what they're doing because they WANT to do it. Forcing people to work when they don't want to, because they have to pay their bills as the monetary system keeps making prices go up while savings go down and means they're miserable and doing subpar work anyway. The best work is done by people who choose to do it, let people choose.
I loved the opportunity I had in my working life.
I recently being promoted to Chief Domestic Engineer of my own home Iโm happier than Iโve ever been.
I reverse it, I keep asking:
Honey, did you recorded the podcast today? You know that will help your influencers IG numbers.
You know you just have few hours, after your full-time job to come home and cook some organic food in a spotless well lit kitchen, in order to document what the baby eats.
That is just expected now, look how everyone else performs online.
We need them two incomes + side gigs to pay the rent.
Or we could just leave in a 90's, and I could work at the factory and you stay home in that detach house with some children...
It gets really crazy when you have a few kids, then are supposed to hand them over to a state institution after six months to go to work, only to end up paying almost 1:1 of your earned money back to the state institution. This way, the state ensures that children are indoctrinated as early as possible.
Nobody should have to work if they don't want to, men or women ๐
We all need to consume at least food at some point
We all should not work! We should do, what we love to do...living our passion...so it's not named "work" ๐
What about single, childless women ? ๐
My wife just thanked me last night for working to provide for the family so she can have freedom to do the things she wants to do
It really meant a lot to me, I appreciated her saying that
This thread is an echo chamber
if you asked 15 yrs ago, this would have been insane statement to me. But I realised I was having the mentality to work because I never had someone to rely on but myself. Until I met my partner! For the first time, it was refreshing to hear from him say: "you do not need to work, I've got us and do something that you truly care, enjoy that freedom!" I am fortunate and grateful for this and I always appreciate him for it. โค๏ธ๐ฅฐ๐ซฐ
What is best is what serves the family best. Could be work but can also be being a homemaker.
Do you think this might change if your world did not include Bitcoin?
agree here i don't think women should have the right to work
