Why do new appliances all sound like old annoying 8 bit video games? I set the temperature on the oven and it does a little jingle like I just got a mushroom in Super Mario Brothers.
This is such a dumb and pointlessly bothersome ātechā trend.

𤣠is it LG?
Both are ASICs
Just wait until āhaptic feedbackā is a trend. Your whole house will be dinging and vibrating 24/7.
Prob cause they're eventually going to gamify everything using carbon credits and it's predictive programming.
Nothing wrong with old 8 bit video games. š
Hey i love 8bit video games, but I dont want my fucking stove to sound like one š¤£
I considered removing the speaker in the micro but my wife uses anything that can be a timer as a timer.
Yeah Quake sounds would be better than that wimpy stuff. You should've punched it and said "just heat up the meatloaf, you fker!"
I miss the days of a dryer that could shake the walls of Jericho with it's buzzer.
all a part of the reptilian agenda to turn married men into useless frustrated faggots before bankrupting them when they finally rebel.
I have a new washer and dryer and they both make a sound when you press the on button... and the same when it completes... like you' described.
Additionally, you have to press the "run" button on my new washer and dryer for four seconds before it will start the cycle... counting down 3-2-1... but don't see the "1" and take your finger off... it will not start... Learned the hard way several times when I returned expecting washed or dried clothes and have neither.
Old appliances were so much better... and not engineered to prematurely fail.
Agreed. I tend to miss using knobs. Smart appliances become so cumbersome bc they take 20min to figure out and need an app to use.
My dryer plays a thirty second song when itās done- a simple ding would suffice.
This is refinement culture when the invention itself cannot be invented more, I think.
So they can charge more.
I wonder if the trend towards analog media, like vinyl and cassettes, will make it all the way to appliances and our other gadgets?
Iād personally love to see a number of small companies creating rugged retro household products. I envy that my grandparents only ever had to buy a thing once, and it worked wonderfully for the rest of their lives.
it's fun
Appliances have become very needy & annoying to be sure.
I don't like the way appliances beep constantly. I mean, I'll empty the dishwasher in my own good time.
One would think that one beep should be enough for sure š
I love my Zojirushiās MIDI
Removed the speaker from my microwave and itās amazing.
Everything makes noise because we are afraid of silence I think.
