Kraken has a well connected LN node. You can bet they share all data with chainanalytic companies. Like all other major exchange LN nodes.
The chosen custodial setup is a degradation of network wide privacy. It hurts LN, but than Mullvad also is accepting other transparent coins.

How does it break privacy?
Lightning is private for the sender.
I have a channel with Kraken so I'm pretty sure if I sent it in one hop from my node it would be easy to figure out. Not that anyone is likely trying right now.
Only the sender knows the total LN fees paid & total hops.
All their node would see is your node providing the final hop to pay the invoice.
You could first route the payment through another channel.

Also, on the face of it, "LN directly via kraken" is self-contradictory. If it's direct, it wouldn't be "via" anybody.
Who said "silly"? I just think they should set themselves up for success rather than be unable to accept all of the ln⚡️ payments users want to send. They might not be able to properly track demand for ln⚡️ as a result.

My experience using Mullvad has progressively worsened. I am constantly blocked from ChatGPT and forced to log in, and I am completely unable to use my Youtube alternatives like FreeTube.
Ledn.io blocks 100% of all Mullvad traffic too.
What are other people's experiences and workarounds?
I dont believe MullVad. Tried for couple of months - the are controlled and save logs I think
