Easiest lightning + bitcoin wallet now that WoS is gone?
I’ve tried Muun and Breeze a little. Installing Zeus now, ‘the node is in your phone?’. But curious of the general contests out there?

I think Primal has a wallet built into it for Ios. I have android so I'm not exactly sure if that's the case. But I believe it does.

I want this to work so badly, and honestly, i use it as my main lightning now, but it takes longer to send transactions, payments often fail, and when they do, it takes a while for your payments to come back to you. I only keep enough on there to justify throwing into liquid

I use Albby, but they don’t have an iPhone app, but does integrate with BlueWallet, but that gets complicated for the quickie orange pill..

Phoenix is self-hosted, so you need inbound liquidity.
I can't figure out how to get inbound liquidity, when I can't send Bitcoin to it, tho. 😂
Someone was saying you need to send a larger initial sum, that will build the channel, I haven’t tried it yet..
I just managed to send €25 from my Bitcoin wallet, and it arrived this time.

Used to have Muun and liked it, but they didn't have "normal" Lightning.
Now, I have the Alby+Zeus custodial combo.

Blink Wallet seems like a great replacement for WoS.
Like WoS it's custodial in order to bring ease of use. But imho Blink has upsides over WoS: the team is transparent, and have been building and working in El Salvador (so trust has been built). And there is an option to convert/hold a form of stable USD built into the wallet.
I don’t see an iOS app for it?
Have had a HORRIBLE experience with nostr:npub1xnf02f60r9v0e5kty33a404dm79zr7z2eepyrk5gsq3m7pwvsz2sazlpr5 - Hit with a forced close less than a week in. 500k stuck in a “pending close” channel FOR A MONTH.
Team seems to have spent a lot of time on flashy graphic design but NONE on contingencies / resources to guide the user through the unique trade offs of self custody lightning (which can be new even to experienced bitcoiners).

Are you needing on chain as well? Or just Lightning? If only lightning, probably the easiest and quickest one to setup right now is the Primal app. Strike is reliable too but has more kyc. Lightning Tip Bot in telegram is great for small amounts but you have to link it to Zeus or BlueWallet for a more familiar wallet UI. Same with Alby if you have an invite code.
Breez is my choice for self custodial lightning apps and can send/receive on chain via in app swaps. You’ll just hit fees more often as it opens new channels since it’s a “node in phone” wallet.
Just lightning and super easy.. Wish there was a simple iOS app I could just shill my friends, like WoS..

Self custody lightning is expensive and complicated, even with the node in phone apps. It’s a reality you’re unwilling to acknowledge because you’re being dense and ideological. Don’t like it? Make it better.

So you understand that it’s not just a straightforward thing to manage channels and liquidity, and it’s certainly not cheap. Some of the “node in phone” solutions are making the liquidity management side of things easier, but definitely not cheaper. For someone who already understands the reason Bitcoin is important, then the hurdles become worth it. But if it’s your first time using bitcoin then it’s going to turn people off. Custodial and kyc options are not the end point. But they do make for a very easy starting point, and it’s how a lot of hardcore bitcoin started out. A little hand holding is fine.
New people are not going to want to create a node/ self custody.
‘Nothing’ is not better than KYC for noobs..

Alby with NWC for nostr. If not Phoenix. I like Zeus embedded node but the channel keeps getting force closed
I’m using alby now, it also integrates well with blue wallet.. But it’s two things you have to have someone download.. I want to setup Zeus for me, test it out..
I can’t wait for it to be a little more stable. That or Phoenix getting a receive address.
