BTC Pay server no?

Thanks, but Btcpayserver can’t do the fiat banking side. And they are not experienced or comfortable with bitcoin transactions yet. If I require them to do that, it just won’t happen unfortunately.

I need a service that integrates with their banking easily.

there is a bringin.XYZ Plugin in btcpayserver

Don’t know about this, interesting! 🤔

😏

strike business?

https://strike.me/business

Interesting! Didn’t realize there was strike business. I’ll look into that

you can connect that to zaprite. i believe that's a popular combination.

If you can get strike account going I have a plugin for an open source accounting app I work with. FrontAccounting connects strike to accounts receivables for invoicing / automated payment entry. Also has lnbits with inventory / cost basis for people wanting asset not fiat.

Install FA and install extension

Posting this to remind myself to give strike biz a test run when I get my LLC running.

Works.

Opennode and strike business

Yeah zaprite is awesome, but I’m looking for something that does fiat and would *plug into* zaprite. Zaprite does the merchant UI side but never handles any of the money.

you can plug in strike to zaprite

Nodeless 😭😭😭

R.I.P 💜

NONE

Swan Bitcoin

Swan locks up your bitcoin for 9 days after you buy it, so no.

Swan isn’t relevant anyway, I’m referring to a merchant service to *accept* bitcoin and transfer it in fiat to their bank account, or hold a portion and fiat the rest.

Self host BTCPayserver

Not an option unfortunately. That’s way too difficult for what they need and the direct fiat integration is the most important piece. They are semi interested in holding some btc, but this is more about accepting it so they can turn it to fiat for less fees and without dealing with checks.

BTC pay server has Shopify integration. I don't know. A lot about Shopify, but I think there may be some fiat rail options in BTC pay server and I really don't think it's that hard. You could probably find a pleb that would do it for them.

Pay part cash part bitcoin and be free of banks altogether?

Sure, if you are already a bitcoiner. But dude, we gotta meet people where they are, not where we want them to be. This isn’t practical for someone who is busy as hell, juggling 100 different things, working long hours, has a 1.5 hour commute, lives out of his truck a few days a week, and has his system for payments and banking to get supplies and pay his laborers (that is this guy’s situation)

If I give him a homework assignment and throw him to the wolves with something deeply unfamiliar and uncomfortable, he’s going to either hate me, or worse do something stupid and lose it all.

He needs a lowest possible friction introduction, that lets him dip his toes. Then he comes back and while they work we keep talking, I keep assisting, show him how simple it can be, then we do a little transaction to a simple wallet on his phone. Maybe I tip him. Then we keep it up, start doing all of our business in bitcoin, I show him how to keep 5% of each project in BTC. Then it goes up in price and he wants to save more. Then it becomes a meaningful amount I we talk about a more robust wallet and how to hold his own keys. Then for the next tip I get him a Tapsigner and Nunchuk and we walk through it in about 15-20 minutes one day… and on and on.

Step by step we go from unfamiliar, worried, and overwhelmed, to understanding, interest, growing savings and holding his own keys. But it takes MONTHS to do this the right way and in a way that won’t just drop him in the middle of the ocean and leave him to tread water and expect him to build his own boat from things that are floating by. Thats what this feels like to most people.

The simple truth is that real onboarding takes time and *our* dedication to helping people get over that first mountain, imo.

Yeah, but that's my point - pay him in fiat *cash* with a little bit of bitcoin that he can actually save. Bitcoin is currently the best savings tech that exists, there is no point if he has to convert it. As you say, watching number go up over time is what captures people, not dumping it for bank tokens straight away through cash app or strike.

Swiss Bitcoin Pay allows you to blend receives in btc and your fiat of choice to a bank. The btc can go to any static LNURL address.

layer 1 payments okay?

Yes, these will be large amounts. For remodeling and housework. Thats why CashApp won’t work they have limits of only a few thousand fiat tokens.

first thought is BitPay in Atlanta. they would require payer KYC

Yeah that’s not a problem. They aren’t ready for handling their own bitcoin directly. Def need fiat integration and a custodian.

*payer* KYC; I suppose that would be you, in addition to them.

Wait… who the fuck requires *Payer* KYC? Fuck that from every direction. Jesus Christ

Strike has unlimited Send/Withdraw for settled deposits

I'd prob go with Zaprite or OpenNode if you want to accept onchain payments in addition to lightning

Sellix.com for digital products. If it’s more like salaries BitWage.com

if it's a larger sum, why not just pay him BTC on chain?

That’s what I’m trying to do. But *he* needs fiat. He has to pay for labor, materials, rental equipment and 1000 other things. If I just send him BTC to a wallet he will have no idea what to do with it and thus, he will simply refuse to start using/accepting #Bitcoin

ah, i didn't realise you were onboarding. maybe just shitty coinbase ?
