What if nostr is what leads to the mass adoption of Bitcoin for regular people?

It was massive for me. I was in my HODL-cave for a few years and decided this summer to see what was going on with my magic internet money
I knew nothing about Lightning or Nostr or anything, but started listening to Bitcoin podcasts on my vacation. Then I saw this fantastic video on how Lightning works and I started zapping around on Nostr and I was like "Yes! they actually solved instant trustless payments after all!"

I think they are as important as each other. Free speech and freedom tech tools are as important as freedom money. Especially with the way various western governments are going

In order to transfer money, you need to be able to communicate and be informed as well. Money is only the first thing to fail. When communications fails too, Nostr will be ready.
Bitcoin prevents theft of time and energy. Free and open speech allows one to expose the theft. Is it the chicken and the egg question?

Maybe Bitcoin is much more harden and developed. And I would argue people are more shitty about you messing with their money than their freedom to speak (not sure why really, but its just true), so I could see that Bitcoin being a stronger tool to improve rights and freedom. But i don't think "Important" is the word you are looking for. Or not the word that should be used...🤷♂️

There’s no freedom without a free market, free speech and sound money. They are equally important. Nostr is a public square (free speech, offer and buy goods) and market place (you can zap to pay). Bitcoin is the sound money.

I would argue that Bitcoin is the most important thing for money but nostr is probably the most important code SINCE Bitcoin's for speech. In other words, we need both. Unless we want to use Bitcoin's blockchain for speech besides using it as a digital photo album.

All the rest happens in clients and sure clients need to work on the harder complexity but from the networks perspective it is very simple.
