Depends what you define as ‘major’ it’s definitely a rural area. “La France profonde”
It’s about 4 hours (by car or train) south of Paris, 1 hour from either Limoges or Montluçon.
Closest cities are Guèret and La Souterraine, each about 25km away, but there are supermarkets, bakeries, butchers, hardware store, etc in a nearby town 7km from the village.
Well, it’s a rural area—Prices are generally lower in this area than elsewhere in France—but yes we *hope* for the right person this would be an absolute steal! It has more land than most properties one might find in this price range and most of the heavy lifting in terms of renovations (with the exception of the septic) has already been done.
However it’s currently without mains power which could be a factor for some (but could easily be connected to the grid), and in order to conform to French regulations a septic (fosse septique) may need to be installed. So those are the main factors reflected in the price.
Also this is the ‘paid in Bitcoin’ price 😉
If we eventually have to list with an agency there would be taxes and fees on top so list price would have to be higher.

We are considering selling our small off-grid cottage in central #France. The property is located in the #LaCreuse department, #Limousin region, in a quiet hamlet on the edge of a forest.
The house sits on a large 2,265 sqm parcel (approx. 0.56 acres) which includes:
–A small courtyard in front of the house
–Garden area
–A field
–A large forested area
The stone house has an area of approx. 68 m² with a fully rebuilt roof. All structural woodwork was replaced, except for the original 100-year-old oak beams (still in excellent condition). The beams were treated against termites and borers, and the roof was finished with premium Terreal terra cotta tiles (installed 2011–2012). Additional upgrades include Kingspan structural foam insulation in roof, mains water connection, a new entry door, and three new wooden cave doors.

When instagram was a thing I used it extensively, especially when traveling. But it also eventually became part of work, and just another drag – constantly publicizing and all that goes along with the social media thing.
Nostr is just for fun and frens and I kinda like it that way.
There is no easy answer. No one can tell you which to run, you’ll have to make that decision on your own. But if you don’t have a strong opinion one way or the other, start with Core and when/if it no longer meets your needs you can look further.
