I feel like Iโm failing to understand your viewpoint here. Could you expand? How is it any different from X or Facebook where a stalker could just either make a new account to watch you and not interact so they donโt get blocked, or just stalk you without creating an account.
Am I missing something here? This can and does happen on other platforms.

For sure a possibility, but I donโt think that would lead to control or true censorship of the network. It would definitely impact specific nations perhaps, as in localized censorship (ex: US based miners blacklist transactions from unknown entities), but the network being decentralized and having multiple options means the free market to move where it is the free-eat (elsewhere would opt for the idealogical approach, in some cases as an intentional counter to the authoritarian party).
This is statistically incorrect and youโre pushing this misinformation to confirm your personal bias. As per most recent data for Bitcoin mining, itโs a pretty even split across pools. Understanding how mining pools work (different individuals and companies offer their hash power to the pool, geographically decentralized) helps us come to the conclusion that no company or person has anywhere near enough hashing power to be able to control anything on the network or create blacklists, because the hashing power can be removed and relocated to another pool or individual mining at any time.

This is just speculation but perhaps for those whose Nostr work is their main income source, they (understandably) fear the potential loss in user base for adding or removing features that may not be good for the app.

Part of fair and open decentralized social networks is that everyone is equally allowed to be involved. May not like him, but disallowing someone access to the protocol goes against the entire ethos of the system. Individuals have the right to block them from their view or relays but blocking someone at a protocol level is monopolizing control of access the same way mainstream social platforms do.
From what can be seen it seems like their fedi linking is just post from threads not pull posts from elsewhere. At most they perhaps see likes.
