I wake up daily with neck pain. I flop like a fish, but mostly am a side sleeper.

I need to remember that I'm over 40 & am getting old 🤣 The shitty, flat pillows that I use are only good for young people apparently.

Please, give me recommendations on a cervical pillow!!

Before the New Years Eve (除夕) feast first give thanks to all the gods/spirits for the outgoing year

Traditionally the spring festival there's 23 days of celebration, the original idea is to prepare enough food for the entire duration since no one works during the holidays as everyone is traveling from one family reunion to the next.

In modern times work starts on day 5 in most places and ends day 15 for lantern festival😮‍💨, fiat ruins everything(?)

I gotta jump into this thread. Darn! That seams like a cool idea! I have to backtack a little — not to knitpick but can't you spin up a similar community on nostr? Ravelry looks cool but I'm too tied up at the moment to stitch something like this together. Sorry to hem and haw about it. It looks like a yarn though. Sew cool. I bet when you post a project you're on pins and needles waiting to see what others think!

I think we should start working to find creators who are joining and support them. Help make lists of creators, send them zap's, repost their content, promote them to new users. Let's welcome and support creators. The way to get Nostr to have content beyond bitcoin is to support other stuff, embrace the diversity. And yes, show them we've got a financial model with lightning payments so they can directly get paid. The zaps are important, but we need to zap folks for posting all sorts of things.

made 25 gallon batch of seed start mix. most years I need about 100 gallons but I didn't have enough storage containers to make a larger batch.

this batch I did 10 gallons garden soil, five gallons homemade compost, 5 gallons peet, 5 gallons perlite. the compost and garden soil already contain biochar. in addition to all that I added a cup of bokashi bran, 8 cups home made fertilizer plus 2 cups aglime. age for 3 weeks.

Well, let's just say it can be quite an adventure diving into new projects. Sometimes they're beautifully designed masterpieces that immediately catch your eye. Other times... well, let's just say creativity can sometimes get the best of people!

When I applied for jobs in software development in the past, the employer was interested in my skills for making software. I worked for companies that made products for activity based cost accounting, banking middle-ware, Voice Over IP, and a giant health insurance claim calculator.

I was never expected to have an interest, passion, or "personal story", in accounting, banking, VOIP, or health insurance. I'm sure it would have helped if I had experience in those fields, but it wasn't required, and I was able to make great solutions in every case. Customers were happy, and sometimes overjoyed at what was delivered. Learning about their needs and goals wasn't something that required years of experince in their specific field.

However, it's common to see job descriptions for the Bitcoin/crypto world where being a "maximalist" is required. A common interview question is, "Tell us your Bitcoin story." No one asked me about my "activity based cost accounting story", or about my "VOIP story". I designed a new capitation billing system, Cost Of Benefits module, amongst other things, and all without having a personal story or experience prior to the project. My interviewers were more concerned about my skills and ability to perform the duties required for the position, not my feelings or personal history with [pick a topic].

This current paradigm tells me that most of these companies aren't serious about doing business. Their concerns, and focus, are misplaced. They remind me of the starry-eyed entrepreneurs on Shark Tank that have large sales figures with a negative cashflow, and no profit point. True businesses have needs to be fulfilled. Businesses running on gifted cash buy what they want until they collapse.
