been spinning a lot lately because lounging on the bed is the only way I can be comfortable. I've also been watching a lot of content on about wool processing, spinning and so on. It's got my mind reeling...
Wouldn't it be amazing to buy some raw fleece, process it myself, spin the yarn and knit up pair of socks or a hat? What an experience that'd be. I already tallied up the cost of things I'd need to acquire to get started because I'm a planner
$180-ish for a set of wool combs
$25 for about 1lb of raw, pretty nice quality fleece (I'm thinking Ramboulliet, Corriedale or maybe another similar breed) hopefully already scoured and ready to comb.
so, about 180k sats. If I sell 10-ish pairs of socks, I'd raise the money for it.
Ahh, a girl can dream. I know I'll have to hang up my hobbies for a time while the littles need me the most and I'm okay with that. Until then, it'll be a lot of thinking and not doing which kills me a little inside.

I like taking care of indoor plants and orchids while outside gardening is on hiatus.
not quite the same but scratches the "gotta grow something" itch.
I'd be a production weaver. It takes a lot of time and space to set up a loom. my weaving equipment is shoved into a corner right now. I'm planning to get it all back out when the kiddos are school age and make towels, blankets, fabric yardage and the like.
Weaving is where my heart is but until then I'm working on knitting and selling socks and blankets because the equipment takes up less space and is more portable. I can do a little at a time whenever I have a spare moment between motherhood and homemaking.

I woke up this morning and the first thought I had was that a barista making minimum wage putting aside a couple dollars each month to stack Bitcoin will be richer in ten years than the financebro shilling shitcoins.

Participate in a childbirth course and a breastfeeding class with your partner. She will be doing a lot of the work but knowing what she's going through and how to support her will help a lot. I did ours through our health insurance/hospital. Usually the OB will have information on this.
Mothers and fathers play different roles and that's okay. Don't get discouraged if you're not able to soothe baby as well as mom in the early days (I'm assuming you're a dude)
Enjoy the limited number of child free days you have left. Life will never be the same again, in a good way!

C2C is so relaxing and chill. You can do it in any yarn. Bulky queen blanket, sure. Toddler throw in DK, of course.
The standard pattern uses double crochet, but you can do half dcs if you want too.
here's another I did that was a solid and a contrast color on stripes. I cut and knotted at the end of every row for the color change which was really annoying but it has held up really well for the last *checks timestamp* 6 years.
might want to look at used scion xB too, if they're still around. same kind of vibe. you might be able to get an xB body and drop a Corolla engine into it and call it a day 😜
