Wondering if I should announce a thing no one will care about 🤔
You hear that devs? Stop sucking 🤣 🤗

I’m going to have to clean up my act and put on a suit. I’ll be knows properly as “Carnage”
I love me some nutritious burgers 🍔
Maybe no one can finish an app because web sockets suck and the relay model doesn’t work? 🤷♂️
Discuss.
Yes please, unless your initial intention was just to play around and vibe. Then all is forgiven.

Those people are retired and on a fixed income.
Did you even watch it? Seems not. Their primary concern is the noise.

"Cassette" was written up by nostr:npub1p4kg8zxukpym3h20erfa3samj00rm2gt4q5wfuyu3tg0x3jg3gesvncxf8 one saturday afternoon during SEC-04. I got stuck while standardizing memory management and walked away for a few months. Stepped back into the ring and managed to get it working yesterday.
A "cassette" is a read-only, portable relay that's been compiled to WASM. It has a standardized WASM interface (no mangle) and accepts NIP-01 messages. I believe there are others working on a similar ideas.
The cassette cli can record (write), play (read), dub (mix) and cast events from (publish) cassettes. There is optional feature flag support for NIP-45, NIP-50 and returns NIP-11 info documents. There are loaders (untested) for js/ts, go, dart, cpp, rust and python.
Use case? There's a few, mostly deterministic test fixtures, dictionaries of various kinds, books and archival use-cases.
This is a very experimental concept piece. If anything comes of this, there would likely be optimization, so any cassettes you make today could be broken tomorrow. Early adopters and tinkerers only.

there's a website too, but the agent went a bit strong on the marketing, and still toning it down: cassette.cafe
Interesting 🧐
I think the residents are right to be upset. Put yourself in their shoes.
In terms of solutions … I dunno. But maybe compensating them for the trouble by buying their property and offering additional money for all of the trouble would be a decent step 1.
I don’t like the rest of the reporting vibe - very hit piece like but I think coming from this angle they are just fuming and would refuse to see any positives - maybe rightfully so.
No, you can self host
I find that most of the time the critics are just complaining but offer zero solutions because this stuff is hard. The best thing to do is to not complain and keep doing your best (as many are doing already). Negative energy brings more negative energy and people leave. It’s like a vicious self-sabotaging loop and encouraging it is just doing more damage than anything. I think most devs are aware of all of the issues by now but can’t do much about it. So when “critics” come in and complain, they are not brining anything new to the table, but actually doing harm.
Professional looking svg based animated illustrations - but vibed on demand
I fully believe most software will eventually be free. You’ll pay per use or prepay credits. Subscription SaaS likely a thing of the past in near future. Platforms will earn on fees instead. Fees scale up with users and it works well for AI models. I just can’t see subscriptions competing with usage-based pricing for long the more advanced the vibe coding becomes (or assisted coding).
So many vibe CODING apps but no vibe animated illustration apps 😔
Wen?!
Do I need to vibe code this?
Dear nostr, is this switch on or off? #asknostr

Speechify onboarding is amazing. So much thought went into it.
Something to aspire to for nostr apps.
I’ve vibed plenty of apps without review but always disclaim this up front (use at your own risk / new key). I think this is fine if you do this. It’s better to create new ideas even if they are low quality than not participate at all. You can always go back and get more eyes on your code if / when it gains any traction at all.
Need a bit of code review for sure. I recommend reading your code - also not hard even if you can’t code from scratch. Lots of tools to assist with understanding code too now.
You know nostr is dead when your Gm note gets 0 replies 😢
Everyone on vacation or something … or maybe I was always just talking to myself 🤔
Figments of my imagination 💭

I’d look into cline and how they optimize query costs. I see caching there but not sure how it works - but costs are so much less.
Someone should probably invent something like that 🤷♂️

GM, legends of Nostria 🏰 ⚔️
You just described every podcast listener.
Just 4 hours in 🤣 it’s not like I sit there and listen and do nothing else 😆
That DHH interview makes me want to run a home server.
My feed today is mostly DHH quotes composed under the guise of original thoughts.
Nice, guys. 👏 🤣
Oh yeah, always will be. We just don’t need to announce it loudly
Starting to agree that maybe the bitcoin symbol is a good look. No need for sats label. 🤷♂️
Don’t kill me 🤣
Sometimes I have to really question myself to see if some trending design change is a dumb move, or if I’m just being a grumpy old kat resistant to change. Most of the time it’s the latter. Sometimes you just need to go with the flow or risk being left behind.
Anyone ask him if he looked into Nostr?
I’d say there’s definitely more creativity to brand design. You can recognize a strong brand from a mediocre one and there’s a person behind that.
I wonder if brand design can be taught or if it’s an artistic talent you develop over time 🤔
Good morning nostr ☀️ ☕️
It’s still THE nostr. Get with the program, ser.
