Massie is such a great human. I learned of him only through the Tucker interview and did further digging to find out he ran a blog where he documented his house build off grid. He’s a down to earth kind of guy not afraid to speak his mind. If you can ignore his position in politics and just look at him and his personal life, it’s quite interesting.

It’s funny that some people complain about nostr having too much nostr talk. Ahem *cough*, forgive us for being excited about a brand new protocol with infinite possibilities and building it out in real time while having a blast socializing at the same time. If there was something more exciting in the field of truly free communication, please point it out. 🙏
People use various outlets differently. Sounds like your brother is using games to escape reality but that doesn’t make games bad or anything - it’s an outlet like many others.
If it’s not made by a nostr user, chances are it’s collecting data and is not worth it.
Now, my brother, who didn’t play as many video games as me ended up getting a girl pregnant in high school and that nearly ruined his life. Half of his life he was miserable. Lucked into a decent job early on - and I really mean luck… and that saved him.
Video games and porn probably prevent so many teenage pregnancies. I remember in my high school we had a high teenage pregnancy rate and all I could think about is how do I avoid the same fate. Naturally, video games helped a lot. Who has time for girls when you’re busy at a lan party! 🤣 I’m thankful video games existed then.

I had a chance to have a brief conversation with my 7 yo about consumption of stuff. Tried to explain how less is more, and to be happy you want less stuff. Not sure if it made sense to him or not but it’s nice to be able to discuss these things. If he listens, he’ll do better in life than his peers.
The key part being listening - kids tend to ignore their parents. I know I did.

US wants Japan to increase investment in defense - and that makes sense to me, but not to voters. We basically rely on US to be there when 💩 hits the fan, but those relations are somewhat shaky too.
I think the trump admin wants Japan to open imports to US vehicles and Japan is trying its best to protect its most important industry and their domestic sales - a tough sell but something’s gotta give.

Apple weather is so bad in my area. Shows rain every day but it’s sunny 70% of the time. Shows 80% probability rain but get zero in reality. Shows no rain at all and we get a massive downpour. Summer clouds are so unpredictable. Just have to look at the sky and see if the clouds are coming your way or not 😆
