Wait. nostr:npub18m76awca3y37hkvuneavuw6pjj4525fw90necxmadrvjg0sdy6qsngq955 was named because NOSTR-Damus?!?!?!?!?
yes lol
could not verify his npub, could be a fake santa
notedeck would work great with convergence. I should try that
Just a quick reminder since this seems to be a common source of confusion:
Damus Notedeck is built to be a responsive app, so any progress we make on the desktop side is also immediately available on Damus Android. Here's what it currently looks like with no code changes:
https://cdn.jb55.com/s/damus-android-2024-12-18.mp4
We're planning on releasing the android build early next year once we fix a few things like the keyboard input.
Show more seems straight up broken. It should not be navigating
building software is just building a bunch of stuff that you need to build before you can build the thing you want to build
its the worst
nostr:npub18m76awca3y37hkvuneavuw6pjj4525fw90necxmadrvjg0sdy6qsngq955 is there any way I can search my own notes?
I’d like to find a conversation I had with nostr:npub1wmr34t36fy03m8hvgl96zl3znndyzyaqhwmwdtshwmtkg03fetaqhjg240 about me travelling to New Zealand.
local search only works by keywords at the moment. try searching new zealand in the search:

we're gonna add more advanced ways to search locally in the future
yeah I'm not sure what truncate means here
If you mean note-links with use of noteID,
you have to add “nostr:” before noteID, that is nostr:
I believe it would be useful if nostr:
What’s the other side of the argument for sticking with the status quo?
nostr:note1efht3sz7jdfrxs7jnek0080sgug580reqykuslxwxev564n0cdnqs4z09y
we parse them without nostr:, although we probably shouldn't
And.. NWC seems like the way to go for Notedeck. It works quite well in Alby browser extension, Snort, Amethyst, and others. We'd like to help with the NWC implementation where possible. I think one of the most complete and easy-to-understand public code bases which implements NWC in the way that NoteDeck should likely implement it... is Snort.. see the code here: https://github.com/v0l/snort/blob/3c4fe85694d1407bd932922c3164bd6f0a973fc9/packages/wallet/src/NostrWalletConnect.ts#L80
I implemented it in damus ios as well lol, yes it will be coming soon
Yeah can adjust it
you might need to navigate to view reply chains, if its in the wrong part of the view it wouldn't really work
not sure what you mean, clicking will bring up a column reply chain once we fix threads
video of this in action. I think it would be even cooler if the reply chain unrolled above the note you are hovering over. will try that next
https://cdn.jb55.com/s/hover-preview-2.mp4
nostr:note136v4m9nvv5uejlnk52mhp9sj7d9lt57esakdzc4egtld9hpchg7sfhpsq6
starting to think it should just show the entire reply chain above when you hover over any note
desktop experiment: quickly see the replied-to note simply by hovering

difficulty is rarely the issue. time is
Its DMs with a few more things. Also want to support pinning public threads in your inbox as well. I originally called this your “notebook” which was just a way to monitor threads of various kinds with archival states.
same
Listening to this TGFN pod and the idea of Notedeck as a nostr browser, where, just like webapps have a DOM and JS APIs, nostr apps would have a readily available local relay, signer and even UI primitives.
The idea implies an app marketplace, but marketplaces are notoriously hard to pull off.
In this sense nostr:nprofile1qqs83nn04fezvsu89p8xg7axjwye2u67errat3dx2um725fs7qnrqlgzqtdq0 has advantages: 1) it is not restricted to nostr so demand is higher, 2) it builds on established distribution formats like APK, so the supply side can be "growth hacked" to break the chicken-and-egg problem.
What if we also make Zapstore a nostr app runner? Expose these apps to potentially many more users, leverage binary verification and all that zs provides?
If NIP-01 is used to access the local relay and NIP-55 or similar to access the signer, then Zapstore as a WASM runtime + Citrine + Amber might just work.
Curious to hear your thoughts nostr:nprofile1qqsr9cvzwc652r4m83d86ykplrnm9dg5gwdvzzn8ameanlvut35wy3gpz3mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfduq3qamnwvaz7tmwdaehgu3wwa5kuegpz4mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujumt0wd68ytnsw43q3ttcfs
what exact is it running exactly? I don't understand why an app store would be resposible for running anything, especially when most of the apps are web based.
are you planning to build a browser? because that's what I'm doing, and I was hoping it was crazy enough to stop people from copying me.
Yeah its more like bote, but could build a bridge to email with nice ux for that
I mean this is the same issue if someone gets your email password and downloads your mail? On nostr you just get a new key and update your nostr address, you could have the inbox relay(s) disable the account (prevent future auths from the key), maybe we could spec that.
I mean i think this is already better than current email where noone expects any privacy or message security at all, obviously would prefer forward secrecy if a spec for that existed and isnt crazy complicated. Maybe there could be an upgrade path eventually
Never letting it slide. Otherwise chaos wins.
Hey nostr:npub1xtscya34g58tk0z605fvr788k263gsu6cy9x0mhnm87echrgufzsevkk5s nostr:npub1h50pnxqw9jg7dhr906fvy4mze2yzawf895jhnc3p7qmljdugm6gsrurqev let me know if bug reports/support requests should go elsewhere.
One thing I’m noticing in Damus still is inconsistent display of the Zap button. It often doesn’t display at all in my feed, and sometimes when I click on a note it will appear, but be unclickable.
Let me know if I can provide any information.

https://zap.army to enable zap button. Apple doesn’t allow us to have one
