chronic early adopter of decentralized tech :)

NoSpace.app rocks. Nobody cares that it’s centralized because it has soul.

Something as simple as a customizable profile goes a long way.

Nostr devs could never

Guys, I fixed global

Of course, I also made it impossible for new people to find followers for people who use this feature. What should the default be for new users? I'm thinking 1 — enough to keep people safe, but a low enough bar to allow for discoverability.

Can you share what the text says when you click “WOT Score”? I’m curious how you define that? Is it literally just 1=friends, 2=friends of friends, etc

My fellow tek… I think users generally find things like social media posting to be unvaluable. If the friction is increased to the point of having to pay for it, I think most would happily go without

The mistake of “value-for-value” is assuming that people only do things that are valuable.

People know that what they do most of the time is *not* valuable. So they would correctly conclude that these time wasting activities are worth nothing to them.

Imagine this: a paid Nostr relay that uses the Stripe API

In other words, Nostr for normal people

I’m really loving the new generation of Haskell-like languages. Taking the good parts and leaving the not so good parts. Pushing forward the ideas of what a programming language can be.

Rich Hickey has never given a bad talk. Every single one is as substantial as it is entertaining. Even if it isn’t Clojure THE language will adhere to his ideas, I’m convinced.

I’m actually having trouble finding even a single link in my feed now. All of the “links” seem to videos where you can click the video and it will jump you out to a website.

Basically images and videos are clickable as links now. Devious because people are accustomed to clicking them to either zoom in or go full screen

Wow, Iris is Snort and Snort is Iris.

We're now working on the same codebase (from Snort) to avoid duplicate work and get more done. MIT license. Looking forward to bringing together the best of both clients.

If you prefer the old Iris, you can find it at https://old.iris.to.

So Iris is just a white labelled Snort client now? Meaning it is Snort but the branding is changed to say Iris?

I love this plan!! You had similar visions anyway

Bitcoin winning is inevitable. Bitcoin doesn’t need you to force it on people. So why not just also accept USD to cover relay and development costs?

Bring in the normies and let the superiority of Bitcoin be obvious to them over time. nostr:note1y566ypaysuu09g09g28s7yct5ug93lgun8d3v52fkd7ejzka3puqqwk2j0

Yeah. A filter could support it but the only tags that relays index are the single letter tags so your suggestion wouldn’t work.

Another option would be to create an interests list like nostr:npub1l2vyh47mk2p0qlsku7hg0vn29faehy9hy34ygaclpn66ukqp3afqutajft has suggested a few times and then you could have a special app that tried to pair users based on the contents of those lists.

Would either require some special relay tweaks or a database though.

I suppose that one could also do this organically. Like get a trend going where people post hashtags in a post like: “#KnowPortuguese #KnowSpanish #LearningEnglish #LearningGerman”

Then if I want to find a Spanish speaker that wants to learn English, I can search for the presence of both “#KnowSpanish” and “#LearningEnglish” in a post
