I don't see it that light, we are just in a new phase.
Bitcoin won't solve your problems, you solve your problems.
Bitcoin is a tool that allows the user to save and thus have stored time to solve problems.
It won't be magic, but it gives you an option to fight back.
I can also be used for giving up power to others (gvmt in most cases)
Don't allow laws for the good in the moment when you will regret facing in the future. Or at least try to fight against them.

to anyone living in europe, is there any app / company that allows you to deposit bitcoin and use it to pay there?
the problem is that i'm from Argentina and having a card that works there is either hard or I have to pay 30% tax on any purchase made which is stupid.
it can be KYC if it allows non EU citizen to use it

Who should be allowed to run for any government position or vote on them?
IMO:
-People not born in a country shouldn't be allowed to run for office or vote.
-People under 23 shouldn't be allowed to vote or run for office.
-People over 70 shouldn't be allowed to run for office.
-People that work for the government or own a business that has a direct income by working with the government shouldn't be allowed to vote or run for office
-People that held a certain government position shouldn't be allowed to vote or run for the same position ever again, but should be allowed to run for a different level of government.
-People that have not lived in a local region for 10 years shouldn't be allowed to run for office in that region.
based and nice trolling against bankers xD
I have a simple mindset with regard to cookies.
if you put a BIG STICK saying 'Accept cookies with a fuck ton of toggles' I leave the site.
If it's at the bottom I ignore it
shake to undo what?

Police officer using bitchat: "Yo fools we're gonna smash u"
protester: "LOL why u here you're a cop"
police: "cause it's free, lol"
protester: "fuck you, get out!!"
police: "can't stop us <"
Covid:
I was going to work, had to fake a permit to use public transport since I was deemed "unessential" by the gov. But if i didn't go I wouldn't get paid.
while on the subway I had to show the police ID and the permit to enter, got inside and after two stations two police officers enter and start asking for ID and permit again, one man doesn't have one, get throw to the floor while crying that 'I have to work WTF do you want me to do? I have a family, you fucking soulless pieces of shit' police force him out of the place, I don't know what happened to him.
I couldn't work properly, I was shocked all day long. Got back home and tried to rationalize it, I couldn't. Something broke that day.
Luckily found "What Bitcoin Did" and found a way out, later on reached other rabbit holes.
The latest manufacturing purchasing manager's index report shows higher prices and lower activity/employment in the US manufacturing sector.
https://www.ismworld.org/supply-management-news-and-reports/reports/ism-report-on-business/pmi/july/

A sampling of business survey results shows ongoing issues with tariffs:
“Fairly flat quarter over quarter, but with us being in the safety and security sector (and with U.S. Customs and Border Protection as a customer), the recent bill that passed should result in an increase in business in the coming months.” [Computer & Electronic Products]
“Sales continue at unprecedented growth, driven by data-center construction. Customers and the sales team continue to demand lower pricing, which drives down gross margins in face of input price increases, primarily from aluminum imports.” [Chemical Products]
“These tariff wars are beginning to wear us out. It’s been very difficult to forecast what we will pay in duties and calculate any cost savings we’ve had this year. Also, tariffs have disrupted our customs import bond. There is zero clarity about the future, and it’s been a difficult few months trying to figure out where everything is going to land and the impact on our business. So far, tremendous and unexpected costs have been incurred.” [Apparel, Leather & Allied Products]
“Currently, higher interest rates still depress the construction industry for new construction projects. Tariff policies are uncertain, which slows down (1) our investment in new projects, (2) component sourcing for new products, (3) blanket orders and (4) replenishment of large inventory quantities. Instead, we’re working to shift suppliers to lower political risk countries or develop domestic sources. We are impacted by the higher tariffs on costs of raw materials and components both sourced domestically and from overseas, and we expect expenses will be higher in the third and fourth quarters as we consume the inventory received with new and higher tariffs or update costs from domestic sources in the second quarter.” [Machinery]
“Sales softening more than usual during the summer. Negotiations with non-U.S. manufacturers are strained as we are reluctant to issue POs for deliveries three or more months into the future with prices that include current tariffs.” [Fabricated Metal Products]
“In the health-care world we continue with ‘business as normal,’ but we are increasingly searching and assessing geopolitical risk mitigation options.” [Miscellaneous Manufacturing]
“Tariffs are causing complete uncertainty around sourcing strategies. A sit-and-wait game for now.” [Electrical Equipment, Appliances & Components]
“Sales are about on par with 2024, but nowhere near budget forecast. Tariff concerns seem to be growing as the year progresses.” [Nonmetallic Mineral Products]
“Business is steady, with solid bookings and backlog. Still uncertainty about tariffs and associated inflation.” [Furniture & Related Products]
“Energy capacity, specifically in the grid operated by PJM Interconnection, continues to be one of the major concerns for business continuity and growth in this region. The procurement of power and rising natural gas prices in this region due to past green energy policies, coupled with future projected allocations for artificial intelligence data centers, adds additional stress to the PJM system.” [Primary Metals]
“Cautiously stable. Tariff impacts are still being monitored. Some increases have been implemented while monitoring other products.” [Transportation Equipment]
stagflation incoming?
i'd describe it as.
imagine bitcoin as you piggy bank, you have it for when things go bad.
so long as you have more than you need you're okey.
Before we had to pay people more times per year.
Even when they wanted and not when we wanted. that was rough, so we don't do that anymore.
now we pay them when we want, as much as we want to pay and if they don't like it, they just give the debt to someone else. So we are not forced to pay them back.
plus we survived the 80% drop, so we strong even stronger as we learned from that time
any religion driven country is a danger. It's a slippery slope into supremacist totalitarianism and persecution even to it's own citizens and it corrupts the meaning of religion for the sake of state total power over life.
Both sides have deep fucked up people in positions of power that will stop at nothing till the other side is dead.
there's no good or bad, just pure evil and lots of innocent ppl mix in their meaningless power struggle that goes beyond the borders of any country in the region.
there's no future where the conflict stops, just a temporal pause that will be broken.
for anyone living there, get out, it will never be solved, save your self and your family.
for anyone not there, wake up to see which politicians will put the interest of religion over those of the country you live in no matter which side they support.
there' are rights on international borders, just whether you have a big enough army to stop ppl from being able to enforce theirs.
human rights mean nothing in face on religion zealots and no UN or whatever made up "agreement" will protect any life.
fuck religion institutions, fuck them ALL in all continents and countries.
religion is a matter of the heart and soul not law for a bunch of egocentric bastards to use to gain power over others.
if we (Argentina) solve our stupid shitty laws on investments, capital controls and labour markets I can see a third massive migration from Europe to here due to this wave of gradual yet increasingly bigger gvnmt overreach on private life.
at this point the only thing preventing from leaving twitter is that the only way to find out WTF is happening in Argentina is twitter.
but aside from that, nostr primal is my main discord about bitcoin and general world events.
it's a password.
you can't brute force a 16 character password I can't brute force it.
maybe a gvmt can do it fast enough, but if you're at that point you're more fucked than just 'oh fuck someone stole my seed phrase' level of fuck.
and if hardware become increasingly close to be able to do it you just make a new wallet.
plus the goal of the passphrase is to give you a layer of security, if someone stoles your seed phrase you should know that someone stole it, thus you gain time to change to a new wallet before they can do anything.
if you can't know that someone stole your seed phrase then your setup is just stupid.

it depends on the passphrase, it's just a password at the end of it.
but it should be clearer on UI from wallets that prompt you to "make a passphrase" to "add security" that they should explain WTF it actually is.
For anyone new that doesn't know it's a dead trap.
For someone that knows but can't invest in a better setup (3-2 wallet) it fill an option that can work for some people.
If anyone uses one it has to be strong, 16 characters using letter, numbers, symbols, upper and lower case. At minimum.
Some devs made a bitcoin wallet with lots of privacy increasing features. The main one being a CoinJoin coordinator.
You could join at least 5 other ppl to make 5 new utxos by paying a fee to the Samourai devs that made the coordination. Once you pay once you could re-do the CoinJoin as many times as you wanted with different ppl, thus breaking any possibility of chain analysis from that point on.
The US government hated this and claimed that it was 'money laundering' and other made up charges and cracked down the dev team. They have been trying to defend their case since then.
It's an attack on privacy most likely to make an example out of them to suppress other ppl from trying to do the same, since it was all open source and all the dev team did was write the code.
It seems the US gvmt hate if ppl make tools that anyone can use to gain more privacy.
I just like seeing states fighting each other or punching up and telling the FED to fuck themselves.
it wasn't a one-off calling, she went to the police claiming that she have been "threatened" and that was enough.
which sound super stupid to be enough to go to jail, the only reason we wasn't arrested was that the case became public and there was enough pushback.
Had it been someone else it'd have been a long long case.
i'm not from the UK, so i don't know how "gender law" works there.
If a woman goes to the police claiming whatever "attack" on her (going from insulting her to actually hitting her).
How does the UK police react and how much trouble can a man get into even tho there would be no evidence to support the woman's claim ?
is the IMF pro America or anti-america then?
as an Argentine here in Argentina it's seen as a tool for US supremacy over developing countries.
now imagine ppl that try to shame ppl into feeling sorry about something they didn't do
that's the lowest of human trash on earth
