now is that staying humble??

right on, won the jackpot at the casino and actually left with the money to improve his life! well played sir

wonder what bitcoin would be in a parallel universe where the only difference was trump didn't impose the largest tax increase on US consumers in history

I imagine we would be well over 150k now

isn't it strange that not a single trump advisor advocated for broad tariffs prior to joining the trump admin?

they all super believe in this idea and think its great, but on the record, they've only said bad things about tariffs in the past...

people like this dropping dead at 65 hit hard sometimes. most of us assume we'll live to 80-100 but not much is guaranteed after about 55-60.

maybe we need to do what we want to do today. is that high time preference?

how does one know if one truly is retarded though? asking for a friend named peter

What do you think are some high trust societies today? Japan, the Scandinavian countries, New Zealand?

Oh ok, cool. Fingers crossed Apple does that someday soon, although I'm not sure what their incentive is to do it quickly as they prefer the blue bubble firewall they've been able to create, particularly in the US.

Would I have to give google access to my messages in order to use Google Messages (and RCS) or can they not see my messages?

I appreciate the extra info!

My threat model does not really include someone physically taking my device. I am mainly wanting privacy from big tech companies.

So having e2ee messaging by default that the SIM providers cannot read (via imessage) is a huge benefit to me that I would lose by messaging the vast majority of people I know with iPhones who do not use signal as I would have to use regular old sms.

fuck off, thats not funny and i was very sad when i looked at the real price

I don't really have a problem with grapheneOS that calyx would solve. It would probably just make things worse.

My main issues are:

1) I am used to the iOS environment more than android

2) 95%+ of my contacts use iPhones so I can securely message with iMessage, only a quarter of them use signal. By using graphene, I end up with insecure/unencrypted SMS messaging with my contacts

3) I do not use icloud, i don't use siri, i use lockdown mode. I feel like with those settings, I have a setup that is probably equally as secure as graphene with some (but hard for me to quantify) privacy tradeoff since apple is probably still collecting a bunch of data on me

He linked to it and gave us a large donation which has helped to fund a lot of our work and we haven't used it all yet since we also have many other donations.

I gotcha. He's a big fan/user of bitcoin and nostr and really believes in open source so I figured along with the large donation to Graphene he would also champion it by being a user. But I think he's pretty set with his iphone
