Just broke up with a "friend" who wasted my attention on pseudo-philosophical discussions and was indirectly threatening me with a possibility of hard physical damage through poetic mentions. I asked him to be clear in his questions but he still rejected it with arcane quotes. Then he completely deleted our dialogue. Two months ago he indirectly threatened me with AI deepfakes. In December of 2025 he offered me creative collaboration without clear agenda/idea (or at least offer a channel where it can be discussed clearly). Even tho we were friends.

In the previous year I knew intuitively that something was wrong in our relationship. We made one small real project on which I tutored him. In 2020 I also tutored him on another collaborative Java project with depth of programming patterns. However, he lacked genuine interest and consistency and he abandoned his learning with no useful or creative/interesting results in pet projects. He could not even consciously admit what were the problems in his path, why he even needed to start programming at all. Then after failure he just jumped to producing AI "art" with no original value or effort in sharing it. With all that he was not even bothered by a fact that I have autism spectrum disorder and I needed to put in more effort in understanding cues than so-called "normies". But I needed to confirm my clues.

I have known him for 6 years 😞️

I trust my friends like all people do.

Good morning, Nostr. Who's running local LLMs? What are the best models that can run at home for coding on a beefy PC system? In 2026, I want to dig into local LLMs more and stop using Claude and Gemini as much. I know I can use Maple for more private AI, but I prefer running my own model. I also like the fact there are no restrictions on these models ran locally. I know hardware is the bottleneck here; hopefully, these things become more efficient.

I write my journal in plain text (markdown) and edit using qownnotes / helix on linux and quillpad on android.

And then I sync the folder with git. Not the best UX but it's software agnostic and lasts forever.

Anyone doing anything special or fun for new years eve?

Came to the realization the other day that I have grown out of "good intentions and duct tape." And should take some shit a bit more serious. There is more to it but thats what it boils down to.

My theme for 2025 was actually making a podcast as far as I'm aware. As for 2026, maybe there's a good chance that I'll be doing more or less the same.
