Happy New Years eve everyone!

i celebrate the solstice, not the number change., but i made a number of intentions on the darkest day that percolated and became lovely, so i will share this morning's iteration:

take three deep breaths when arriving.

take three deep breaths to start a new task.

continue to work on my patience and emotional container.

continue to study yoga and ayurveda.

make sleep sacred.

make food sacred.

make movement sacred.

make health sacred.

in all interactions, choose grace.

be ready for that not to be their response.

then choose grace again.

and - naturally - with honesty and integrity.

devote time to my self, my husband, my family, and my community.

break unhealthy habits around screens.

set goals. practice meditation. see all situations as something to learn from.

and know [believe] everything is as it must be.

Split pea & ham on deck.

Low time preference cooking.

Comfort food season.

One thing I never see from the youtube "prepper" community is an emphasis on having your own tools.

Being able to build and fix things yourself is one of the most important life skills to have. Basic power, woodworking, plumbing and electrical tools along with books and general knowledge on those subjects will pay unbelievable dividends.

After growing up on a working farm that made barely enough money to get by most years, it's hard to emphasize how important basic DIY/fix-it skills are.

Morning pond report is that the snow is back! We had a brown Christmas & we’re soggy all weekend long. Yesterday the temps finally dipped and my rain turned to snow and I am in a snow globe again. Love this! I could stare out the window all day.

Sold these two netherlands dwarfs yesterday 🥰 This is my daughter's project. Teaching about responsibility, livestock care and money all at the same time.

This was Oreo's first litter - she hasn't had any 'peanuts' yet, she had a litter of three and all of them thrived.

I'm keen to get back into meat rabbits but havent fully decided yet.
