Dreams always offer a remedy for a (psychological) situation you find yourself in. Even when they're nightmares, or trauma dreams. Of course, our response to dream content can cause suffering, if we're unwilling to accept that remedy.
Well, I can only give an analysis of this dream from my own perspective, i.e. how I would've interpreted it if it was my dream.
A dark pool would for me usually be a symbol of the unconscious - parts of ourselves that we are not aware of, but are there. Falling into it might signify a kind of event in my life that I might have had no control over, which plunged me into this pool of the unconscious, that is, requires of me that I reach out for something within that I'm not aware of possessing. Since it's a soft fall, that means that whatever it might have been didn't injure me in any way, but nonetheless something more is being demanded to handle the situation.
The stingrays in the pool seem to be the key to the answer about what it is that I need. I have no personal associations to stingrays, so I'd think of them as something instinctive and intuitive (and now I'm regretting not yet having obtained The Book of Symbols). Since the emotion you mention is dread, it suggests that I may be dreading what my instinct/intuition is telling me about the situation that caused me to fall into the pool. The "envelope of their black rubbery wings" is a very vivid image and for me it immediately invoked the idea of being shielded from something. (Sure, stingrays have venom, but in dreams venom is usually some kind of agent of transformation, although it doesn't seem to me - from your recounting of the dream - that it is the venom that you fear.) Perhaps the instinct/intuition that I need might be protective in the situation that caused me to fall into the pool, that is, the situation which requires of me to reach for this instinct that resides outside of my consciousness. Dreading it may be due to my inability to explain this intuition rationally, hence being unable to understand the consequences if I act on it.
The association of the shape of the stingray to a half-moon might indicate that the stingrays bring a kind of phase of life transformation (venom) into the mix.
I believe this dream to be an invitation to explore your intuition about whatever situation this interpretation reminds you of. There is no need to act on it, simply notice what it is that your "gut" is telling you about it.

As for Influx, I have actually installed it from scratch and have a Dockerfile and init script in one of my private repos. I don't mind changing it to nspawn if you prefer or for consistency with other machines.
