We have lost hundreds of chickens to predation free ranging them. We built a chicken tractor out of PVC, the problem we encountered is uneven ground combined with the ingenuity of raccoons. I have considered some flexible heavy curtain to adapt to terrain like chain mail, but the weight makes moving it more difficult, and it already wasn’t easy. I’m excited to see how this works for you. It looks great!

I really think you are both correct. Organisms are birthed with a set of inherited genetics, AND those genetics are altered by environmental forces through epigenetic mechanisms in a heritable way through their lives. Both Darwin and Lamarck were correct in some ways, incorrect in others. There isn’t a one size fits all solution here. The bottom line is that there is little to be gained evolutionarily by living a long life, particularly if you are female, but also from a procreation perspective if you’re an older male trying to compete with younger suitors. Culture is what creates value in age, and as an older male, I’m thankful!

So they’re offering financial incentive to have a bank account. I’m not from Argentina, but I think you should sit down and compile a list of reasons your government would do that. Imagine the possibilities ranging from profit through eventual client mismanagement all the way to enforced adoption of a CBDC. I’d guess it has something to do with citizen registration and control ultimately, and in the short term, profit for them by offering loans, and high interest financial instruments. Personally I would, and do routinely pass on such offers.

Speaking of evolutionary paths, I often wonder if I will live to see the era of human bio-hacking, imagine having genetic alterations enabling our liver to produce vitamin C like canine livers do, or alterations to skin cells such that we produce ATP through photosynthesis to augment our energy needs. Perhaps shifts in morphology to increase available sun exposed surface area. The possibilities are easily as diverse as the unique survival strategies exercised by each unique life form we share this planet with. Speaking to your circumstance though, if you don’t mind me asking, are you over 40? How do you acquire complete protein, and what is your preferred source of fatty acids?

Its pretty difficult to find unsaturated fats outside of the original source that aren’t oxidized. I think it’s relevant to note here that our bodies literally have a metabolic pathway devoted exclusively to saturated fat. I respect vegan people who choose the path out of compassion for animals, but to claim it’s easy or healthy in any way is folly.

Yep, I used arbitrary and that is exactly the wrong word. I meant perhaps arbitrarily flexible based on scarcity, though that is an awful, awkward way to say relevant pricing guided by the principles of supply and demand. Apologies. 🙃

Sí, vamos a tener las dos cosas.

Awk, you like them small and fast? Why not large and fast?

Lol. Do you have something against necks? Lol.

People seem pretty angry driving around. I’m glad that the few trips I make these days are pretty rural, just picking up animal feed. It’s illegal, but I carry anyway. I’m not interested in being a victim of angry animal aggression. It’s going to get worse before, and if it gets better. Our empire is crumbling.

Natural selection. It’s how every species stays strong.
