For them it certainly does. They have made race the absolute center of everything. I mean shit there are literally academic papers about how chocolate milk is racist.

Everything it is built on is open source, and the Pear Runtime engine (what enables Keet) will be FOSS on Feb 14th. Keet will be fully FOSS on the official release, but it’s still beta right now.

Room for sharing and finding rooms

Bitcoin room is going nuts, like 500 people joined today. My notifications have been buzzing by the second, had to silence it 🤣

Giacomo, Lopp, and Adam Back jumped in and shared links apparently. Started a run.

So Keet is going crazy today… 😆

lol, I didn’t say it was. There are TONS of people who legit think they are “stopping racism” as they tout explicit racism because they were brainwashed into their position. Those are the people I’m talking to. If I just call them racist, nobody is gonna listen 🤣

Podcasts version of social media feeds. You can open up a bunch of different podcast players and all the same podcasts are there with all the same episodes. On social media nothing on Twitter is the same on Facebook.

Nostr separates the feed and user from the social website or app, so that it acts like podcasts. All the same friends and communities and posts on all the different apps, but you can have any features you want by choosing any app.

Racist jokes and crass humor is an infinitely better way to disarm and diminish racism.

Everything The Woke™️ has produced has only amplified the power and importance of racism. It has become *worse* because of their actions and behavior, not better.

I think we give *way* too much credit to the idea that the WEF is a single actor with a single agenda, rather than a giant group of people who like to feel powerful and important, and are all vying to be more influential and get their agenda seen at a huge event.

The paranoia sometimes is overboard, imo. I would say the only thing important to look at is what Miles is doing in Argentina. So far I’ve heard he has actually moved to shut down numerous wasteful govt agencies, laid off a large portion of govt employees, deregulated real estate which caused a surge in availability, and I’ve only casually kept up with it. I say actions speak louder than words. If you have seen him, or he starts doing awful statist things, then I’d be suspicious, but turning every thing into a 4D and 5D chess move of some cabal of power that’s somehow always in perfect consensus just seems to get in the way as often as not.

Hmmm, that’s a good question. I actually don’t get to listen to many podcasts anymore with the amount of stuff I try to make myself, but I probably listen to Part of the Problem, Joe Rogan, and Self-Hosted more than any others, and I throw in an occasional episode of TFTC, Latent Space, or really any of like 10 bitcoin podcasts when they have a good topic/guest from time to time.

Much more of my listening time is taken by audiobooks rather than podcasts these days.

Yeah both are broader and less limited, so they have a greater potential for features, but also for unintended consequences.

Hey nostr:npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev, what are your thougths on doing a read of denationalization of money by FA Hayek?

Oh! Thats a good one I haven’t thought of in ages. I could definitely see that added to the list. Thanks for the recommendation 🙏🏻

This is exactly the benefit of CTV, imo.

This is true, and I’m pretty stoked that they are finally arriving, but this obviously comes with trade offs on sovereignty, and the custodians who implement it are at risk of a regulatory attack - potentially putting them and all their users at risk.

None of what I said is a claim that custodial privacy can’t exist, simply that removing the activity from the chain itself, while maintaining the power of the individual to still exit unilaterally, opens up a lot of privacy possibilities without giving up ownership assurances.

Scaling is a privacy issue as well. If we cannot scale in a sovereign or even semi sovereign fashion, then we are stuck with custodians, which is the worst case scenario for privacy.

In addition, most L2 tools are inherently privacy benefits as well, by merely taking the payment/settlement off chain, the permanent record is default removed, so the dynamic is immediately something that can be turned in the user’s benefit much easier.

A great example with CTV, if you and a family it trusted group is using a timeout tree or other CTV based scaling solution, then it’s not obvious at all that the single UTXO is actually owned by maybe 50 different people, and those wallet transactions aggregated can be mostly obfuscated entirely off chain, so ownership can change without hitting the chain with any user specific data that can be traced through a UTXO history.

This is the way 🫡 nostr:note1xyq6vuhra6vy5nyytd2amkje7czyllyxwhc9x4um23lj8cd73p5qyuxjyx

Also are you w re getting to Ark specifically because I don’t think theater is a working test version. But I’m more interested in the simplicity of timeout trees. Super basic, very low complexity

Is this an argument that Lightning doesn’t scale?

That’s like saying Lightning doesn’t do anything if the potential for having to enforce every single payment on chain exists, because there’s a limit to on chain capacity, but clearly it works to scale payments massively.

CTV is a way to secure someone’s ownership of a UTXO *without having to broadcast it.* so that under mutual updates you can change that UTXO, maybe 1,000 times and never actually publish it.

The only time you would need to publish is when *everything breaks,* or someone attempts to steal. For that, it makes perfect sense that it can work at scale even if only a portion of the network can exit at any given time. The likelihood of all layers, all trust, all third party service providers, etc failing at the same time is low. This is why decentralization is resilient.

Dividing up ownership of a single UTXO is *necessary.* there’s no other path, and this is by far the simplest way to do that I have seen. If you have a better proposal though I’d love to hear it, honestly.

I actually like this idea. Of broadcasting the "announcement" of the article to everyone in a Kind 1, that then embeds a link to the full article. I don't think we should be afraid of segmenting types of content to certain relays. I think that's the best way to scale in an efficient way and recreate a stack of applications and use cases via a protocol that separates them from platforms.

I think this is a decent segmentation tool, and I've had a similar feeling myself about the articles. Not that I wouldn't write them, but that I want them to live in a way that the entire network sees it, but that it doesn't necessarily show up as a huge note in front of all of my follower list. 🤔🤔

It's probably like $600. That's close to what I had in there but there are also regulatory things around that number that say you have to KYC, or send tax info, or some crap like that. So I suspect they want it to stay below that number for a variety of reasons.

I'm sure there are official numbers some where, but I haven't bothered hunting for them, lol

I'm apparently hitting my limits on nostr:npub1getal6ykt05fsz5nqu4uld09nfj3y3qxmv8crys4aeut53unfvlqr80nfm lightning wallet 😅

Switching things over to my btcpay. Its a tad more delayed than Alby is with invoices, but I move most of my sats over there (or to phoenix) anyway. I mostly stayed with Alby while i was going through and testing 6ish different custodial LN address options, and I liked that the Nostr login (the extension) and wallet were in the same interface.

Didn't think about the fact that they would have limits. But if there was one, I was bound to find it 😆

She plays the character Starlight on The Boys

(Amazon Prime show, Season 1 was awesome, decent Season 2, stopped watching into Season 3)

Link to the reference? I don’t think I know the ones in question

Thanks man, really appreciate the offers of help. I have my travel mic still luckily.

I’ll figure it out. Always do. Just fucking sucks a great giant donkey dick. I just want to give up on this fucking house sometimes. Wasted so much bitcoin trying to make this piece of shit work for us.

I suspect #Bitcoin won’t start climbing much until after tax season.

I tried to take note of the cuts but even those were so insanely well hidden it was difficult to pinpoint them. There were only a handful in the entire movie. Most of those scenes were performed without break for 5-10 minutes straight.

A film I can watch without leaving the story for a moment on the first time, while I can spend the entire second time just appreciating the craft of executing it… *that* is a great movie.

It's funny to hear bitcoiners called a cult when it seems to me like we can't agree on literally anything.

How would you even find verification of this sort of info anyway? Seems hard to find concrete info for stuff like this 🤔

For the life of me I have no idea what the joke is here 🤔🤨

*Colluding* with 51% of all hash power is a very different dynamic than BIP300.

In the LN or BitVM situation where you need the justice transaction to not be censored, the attacker has to *actively* collude - like actually plan the attack, personally contact all of the relevant miners (or the pools that are ok with destroying their pool) and bribe them to participate in the attack or convince them to commit to the crime before they even get a payout. Then they all have to actively censor the justice transaction and reorg all blocks not in their censorship group when the attack happens.

In the case of BIP300, anyone with enough hash power to create a block of withdraw and cast some votes could out in a malicious withdrawal. If 60% of the miners aren’t verifying that particular sidechain (or probably not validating any of them because we’re talking gigabytes or even terabytes every 10 minutes in a successful BIP300 scaling model), then the majority of miners would just *passively* vote for the malicious transaction. They’d have no clue whether it was honest or not. No active participation. No explicit altering of the pool/client to censor a justice transaction and reorg other blocks. No collusion. No bribes necessary. When any validators of the sidechain contested it, it may very well become a social mess figuring out what is honest and what isn’t and miners have to be contacted and to force them to setup or sync sidechain nodes to cast the proper vote, or they just blindly trust to what someone else claims and manually change their vote.

Yes, 51% of the hash power control is a problem in either scenario. But in LN or ButVM, or any other justice model like we already use, the miner **is not the counterparty.** they can’t just unilaterally pay themselves out of MY channel. The BTC goes explicitly to me, or my channel partner. And *I* decide who that partner is. My trust is another layer of defense, on top of the multiple levels of difficulty and direct, malicious collusion necessary.

In the BIP300 scenario I can’t choose which miners I want to trust. And I can’t force miners to run full nodes for my sidechain. Anybody, anywhere with hash power is suddenly “my counterparty” to the sidechain operation. They can steal if they have with *passive* hash power not doing the job necessary to *contest* their claim.

These just are not at all the same dynamic nor have anywhere near the long term risks. Longer we have BIP300 success, the more likely nothing is being validated. The more BitVM and LN we have, cost of validation continues to decline. It’s all still only on the main chain.

Yeah it seems like this is symbolic bullshit. But nonetheless, it suggests they are a little bit afraid by how much they are losing the public and desperate to appear positive in literally any light. Hopefully it all gets far worse and the momentum against them accelerates.

Yeah the management is through telegram but it gives you a Lightning address for whatever obviously. Would be cool to have a “login with Nostr” option and web front end but I get why that’s a huge extra hassle.

Dude this is me so much. Especially cancers man, I swear to god they are popping up like crazy. And I’d just think I was having visibility bias except that it’s almost universally the people that I’m 90% sure got the jab, and probably keep getting them. I’ve tried to actively contest my bias, but I swear it lines up too often to be random.

What a retard 🤣🤣🤣

nostr:npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev do you have your own self hosted LLM? How hard easy are these things to set and train on what you want? Any good getting started guides?

I’ve mostly been using GPT4All but the context length isn’t great (don’t paste long papers into it).

I’m still hunting for better solutions but in short stuff it works really well. I do a combo between that and ChatGPT depending on the task.

🔥 I would make minor changes to these descriptions… 😘

Tokens on bitcoin are a distraction.

Stablecoins on bitcoin are a tool merely for the transition from fiat to bitcoin.

Have you seen Dr Paul Thomas’s data nostr:npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev or nostr:npub1ajv7m32k0cpgzha32qszsh304qusjvwwmavus0ttktzldms4xzusuftppj ? He was a doc with a big pediatric practice (two other docs with him). He did a legit vaxed vs unvaxed study with his patient data. The state went after his medical license for publishing it in a journal.

The charts from his study (that the journal got pressured to retract) are insane. Bottom of the page there’s a link.

Yeah I’ve seen some interviews with him and it was a major part of me realizing how bad the difference really were. There arguably no better dataset than his over literally thousands of patients and a decade or more of results. It’s basically the most comprehensive controlled study ever done and **exactly** what the pharmaceutical companies refuse to do & have managed to capture the regulatory agencies so completely that they *don’t even have.* it’s such. Fucking scam it’s insane.
