This would be useful with more explicit and direct controls. For instance, I'd like to be able to just turn it on and have some clear indication that it's working, and then cut it off or even pause it temporarily. (The last thing i want is the security nightmare of having screen recorded and Ai searchable open text database (anywhere) that has all of my passwords and every seed phrase i wrote down from a mobile or desktop wallet.

But if i could easily see and control when/what was being recorded and if i could explicitly give it access to certain drives and folders and not others. Or even segregate them to certain LLMs or "accounts" or something (i would like to have my tax documents accessible at certain times, but then would otherwise want that model & data encrypted and tucked away, etc).

But nonetheless there is a very interesting use case here, despite the implementation (and Microsoft's Recall which it might be based off of) being a cybersecurity nightmare in its naive form.

I was on the twitters for barely a minute just to check messages and managed to find this video in the 3 visible posts at the top of my feed.

A news story about a woman who got stuck on the toilet and stayed that way for 2 years... yes, you heard that correctly.

The #Bitcoin CEO has announced a full proof quantitative easing program. They will be issuing 1 trillion in tether in order to buy BTC in a virtuous loop that will secure a permanent floor at 58K gang.

Don’t worry everyone, funds are being deployed!

Isn’t it crazy how the movement for “inclusiveness” and “tolerance” has become the most excluding, hateful, selfish, and intolerant bullshit ever? 🤔🙃 nostr:note1xpf5gyg2c7wn448zwq38jqznkr6kjpfckk96266cs4t0ru9qwacq3ee85l

Just got off a call with a human rights activist and director at Ideas Beyond Borders. Some key quotes

“You can’t bomb democracy into people”

“It’s really expensive to be poor.”

I connect with human rights folks as much as possible, both for nostr:npub1fpcd25q2zg09rp65fglxuhp0acws5qlphpg88un7mdcskygdvgyqfv4sld and offline convos. They came to learn about Bitcoin, not because they wanted to get rich or even cared for Bitcoin “the thing,” but because they already saw broken money, broken governments, and the need for a better tool (besides the black markets they’re already using). When Bitcoin is presented, they’re already likely to at least understand the idea of why it’s important.

And also, I can’t overstate the impact nostr:npub17xvf49kht23cddxgw92rvfktkd3vqvjgkgsdexh9847wl0927tqsrhc9as and nostr:npub1trr5r2nrpsk6xkjk5a7p6pfcryyt6yzsflwjmz6r7uj7lfkjxxtq78hdpu has had on human rights and activists around the world, slowly but surely, getting by and understanding bitcoin. The amount of times I’ve heard “Alex told me about bitcoin,” it’s just insane the impact he’s had. 🫡

The human rights case is WHY I’m here. Most everything else is just noise. Freedom go up or bust ✊🏻

“What if changing the world was just about being here, by showing up no matter how many times we get told we don’t belong, by staying true even when we’re shamed into being false, by believing in ourselves even when we’re told we’re too different? And if we all held on to that, if we refuse to budge and fall in line, if we stood our ground for long enough, just maybe… The world can’t help but change around us.”

Ok is there a specific story or challenge behind #PuffPuffPaint or is it as simple as drawing something and posting it?

I’m curious the origin story of there is a good one 😁

But it was transitory. We had an economy with one level of prices, and we transitioned into an economy with a much higher level of prices.

It's crazy how many refuse to see the simple reality of our government agencies and what they are doing right out in the open...

Kudos to Dr. Phil for realizing how insane this is.

Dave said he and I were working on something? This is actually news to me 😆

99% chance I’m on board though, lmao. I def should see about doing another show with him. Been too long. Gonna get to hang with Robbie the Fire next weekend too. That’s gonna be a blast.

P2P. It’s a DHT model just like BitTorrent. And uses a 2-way hole punching method to get through any firewall. It’s pretty slick.

It’s really an extension of BitTorrent when you look at its history and the development of it. This has been a 10+ year project continued from previous ones that were incrementally making BitTorrent more data agnostic so you could do anything with it, rather than only serve static files.

Yeah, just thinking for the sake of user setup, having it integrated would be so awesome. The more pieces the typical user needs, the less likely they do it.

I’ve always felt self custody options were always limited to the greatest degree by needing 4 different tools or wallets to get it all to work. Rather than the main tools finding the easiest, more reliable thing, and integrating it.

But yes, this can be done just with the external app like Tailscale. Just feels a little clunkier. Would love to see direct use of it in the apps.

Again… will donate and then also try to raise more sats for this. Just throwing it out there 🤣

Everyone needs to watch this to get a dose of sobriety.

I think we have already become jaded with what the internet is, and we forget just what a revolutionary thing it is, and why so many of the things we despise or try to act as if we are "above it" are crucial elements to the entire reason why we are here. This is ALL about connecting people. The goal isn't to remove that, or evolve beyond it, its about regaining OUR control over the reigns of our connections, what we see, who we talk to, and what we say.

An incredible technology of connection,

has become a technology of control,

and we need to redesign it as a technology of freedom.

Anyway... its just a good video 😆

And here I thought bitcoiners were anti war. But if you kill tens of thousands of *certain* people then it’s all ok I guess.

I can’t fathom how this could ever be a productive conversation seeing as you failed to make a single point and didn’t even bother to walk back that you have no idea what I think or how I have reached my conclusion, but double and tripled down on a *completely* imaginary person you’ve invented in your head and the astronomical baggage you have put on them.

I’m sorry for your lack of thought.

I appreciate the challenge, but frankly, that isn’t how markets work and never have, there are a few reasons why:

• The only reason we need minimum wage is because if govt created inflation. Otherwise even a static wage literally grows by itself every year in purchasing power due to growth in the society.

Here’s a short expansion on this:

https://youtu.be/vknNY3oTABc?si=kTtyxd06PwJUT059

• Free markets have always produced increasing wages and bettering standards. The govt never even considered outlawing child labor until it wasn’t even a problem anymore. This is common with regulation. The brilliant economist, Thomas Sowell, details a lot of the history of this in his books. An example being when the Ohio river caught on fire, which lead to a public outrage and the creation of the EPA and Clean Water Act. Years prior, river fires were actually pretty common. Everyone dumped stuff into the river and it was completely normal. It wasn’t until after it was largely solved, and people no longer thought of it as normal, that a river in Cleveland caught fire and made national news.

• WITH a minimum wage people with very low skills can’t get work. So the amount of people who drop out of the workforce increases dramatically. It also encourages businesses to seek automation rather than paying less to low skilled workers, resulting in far more stagnation in impoverished populations.

• When people can’t get work and can’t afford necessities, it doesn’t mean children don’t work. It means they can’t work *legitimately,* but the children still work if the family is poor.

• Child labor doesn’t occur because there’s just a whole population of mean and evil parents. It occurs because of poverty so bad that if the kids don’t work, the family cannot eat. Child labor is a result of poverty, not meanness. Every place that institutes child labor laws, sees a dramatic drop in child labor, with a corresponding jump in child prostitution. If the children can’t work, they get raped instead. Since you support a minimum wage, do you support child rape?

• Kids should be free to work if they want, especially considering if they are poor this would be their way of learning important skills and avoiding having to be raped for money to survive. I mean, priorities here. Also I worked when I was a kid and loved it. I know SO many things and learned tons of great skills working construction with my dad from 11 and 12 years old and on. If the govt tried to come and hurt my father or restrict me from earning money, then they are the violent lunatics that are harming my family AND me.

In short, child labor and minimum wage laws are dumb, they harm the very people they pretend to help. No disrespect to you, and I appreciate you responding, but I disagree with your entire framing.

Well this section is full of what sounds like previous baggage (with respect)

“I don't have to kill god because he is imaginary. But go ahead and believe your delusions. I support everyone's rights to fantasize about heaven or hell. Problem is, is that most of y'all miss the life in front of you.”

- seems to assume Jeff believes in some “dude in the clouds” idea of god.

- instead of addressing a comment about morality and what leading the Bible may be teaching, which is a question of values, he instead assumes some apparently long list of “delusion” which aren’t relevant to anything in the OP.

- “fantasize about heaven or hell,” also not brought up in the OP, but argued as if there was something said about these that demanded a counter argument, which didnt exist.

-“most of y’all miss the life in front of you,” again nothing to suggest anything about “missing life” or even a single thing related to how Jeff goes about his day or whether it is limited by something the Bible says.

- And then of course the key identifier of “most of y’all,” showing that he is arguing with an imaginary group in his head, rather than anything Jeff’s actually said.

From what I read, it sounds like he has just brought in a bunch of religious baggage to continue an argument about religion he has had with people who believe an extensive list of things that have nothing to do with the OP. And then even extends this multiple steps forward as if Jeff’s life is somehow restricted by these believes that didn’t exist.

It’s funny because I bet Jeff has many of the similar complaints and was *actually* trying to address them in his post.

What I interpreted from the comment is his suggestion that Jeff adheres strictly to what the Bible says, believes in a dude in the sky, thinks people either go to heaven or hell according to their acceptance of it, that he even makes life decisions to align with arbitrary dictates of the Bible and that this results in his life to be empty and meaningless, and then that he and all those like him are delusional for it…

Which is funny because I know Jeff doesn’t believe any of that. And his entire point was to address a lesson the stories of the Bible attempt to teach, that most Christians misunderstand because they are so certain the entire thing is as literal as a recipe of ingredients.

TL;DR, the list of assumptions in his short post was actually quite extensive.

What if the podcast is literally reading Hayek, Rothbard, Sowell and many other authors *to you*?

Huh, what about that?
