Man what was the process to make this!?

It’s so fantastic 🤣 nostr:note13c32jwukwgv6gwajep5ruv0nmxkh9puj7l0dxt7p8w0phnd309jsy3evrv

I’m going to recommend it anyway, it’s been discussed at length that it isn’t open source yet, but the entire protocol stack is open source and everything they’ve said they will release for almost 2 years now that I’ve been following them, they’ve followed through. I have no idea why they wouldn’t with Keet or even what they would get out of it if they didn’t. But the Pear stack is open so anyone can build their own tools or the many other that are open source on top of it if they like.

Made a new room specifically for noobs who want to join and ask any questions about Pear stuff or Keet

The Audionauts room is just for the crew of supporters of the show but we’ve got tons of rooms to hang out in. Here’s a few good one to start from:

Not sure. I’ve been looking into finding a path for this with BIP85

Using it constantly for ai stuff and they will have a mobile app soon and I’m super jazzed.

Yes actually. Talked to a few people interested in making bridges. Also have talked to some devs myself about building a Nostr client that runs entirely over Pear but we have some other projects to finish first. If we had a separate client that worked really well i imagine bridges would pop up naturally. Of course there’s no reason the functionality for connecting to both relays and directly to peers couldn’t be in the same client.

There are tons of *complimentary* use cases, but none of them stand on their own. Ai without a mountain of software and direct, functional implementation is just frustrating. But you can get it to do all kinds of things if you are building software around it for specific tasks and you design it FPR those tasks. But everyone trying to create an all encompassing ehuman assistant is chasing air, imo.

TIL about fnords… and it’s a pretty cool idea. Now I have another book trilogy to add to my neverending list 😆

It would only be selling it if we determine what the cost is. But the cost is hidden from us through a literal fraud. We are not selling it, even the fools who want it. We are being lied to that we can get it for free. It’s the same as making a deal with the devil.

Appreciate it. Fucking love the book and Lyn’s writing in general. Always been a fan and was honored to get to do it.

Feminine men or masculine women or anything in between does not counter the simple fact I stated above.

Fucking third parties man. Never make the mistake of thinking our data is safe, *least* of all our emails.

Sure, but I think people take it as not caring for their child. It would be like telling a parent that they are purposefully poisoning their child by vaccinating them. It may very well be true, but most people will stop listening as soon as it’s framed that way.

I think it’s important to realize that tons of people, all of us included, in some way will do things incorrectly, or even bad things, specifically because we think it’s the *right* thing to do for those we love. It’s just a an unfortunate reality of being human.

lol, no sorry I was just joking. I have no idea. Just looked horrible 😆

1000% 😆 nostr:note1dwa4u9xdv396ujrgmnhla5muv6rpx5dkm0nnyv2w3p893gdrh2hsgs5ytr

Depends on in what context. Picking your battles and how you fight isn't being defeatist, its understanding how to play the game. Also plenty of people say this publicly for the simple reason that it's good OpSec. However there are "libertarians" who are basically just pretenders and also many who are just career "losers," in the sense that they just believe we are going to be slaves forever and they can only ever see the downside of literally anything. When something good happens, they just put it in the most pathetically negative context they can. they essentially identify as having lost.

Depending on who and in what context I have very different thoughts about what you bring up. I don't think there is a single answer because the issue is neither monolithic, nor are the people and reasons people make those sorts of statements.

Build better tools, fund more development, fund legal defenses, support anon devs, create more private services at smaller scale rather than public businesses, refocus tooling around service provision with as little friction as possible, and about a thousand other things.

The question is less “what can we do” and more “what can’t we do”? We have literally more tools at our disposal than we have ever had in the history of this entire battle. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Why is everything falling apart?

The wrong "plan?"

The wrong "leaders?"

Not enough "funding?"

It's actually far simpler and more fundamental than most realize...

I’m proud of having figured out how to make the pill disappear from the hand and also remove the hand from the glasses before this was made far easier with Ai.

I had to manually draw the palm with the mirror tool from other parts of the hand and then track it to pinpointed areas of the hand. Whereas I could probably just inpaint with Ai now and map it onto the palm really easily and just track the single spot.

Not as if that’s WAY easier or anything, but still. I’m proud because that was a first for me doing that in Fusion.

I really don’t think you are understanding what I’m trying to explain or I’m not properly conveying it.

Nothing that you have said here contradicts what I’m explaining.

💯 There’s no such thing as safety without freedom.

It would be like trying to get “health” by giving up quality food and exercise.

Or getting a “robust environment” by giving up rain and sunshine.

These things are axiomatically dependent on each other. If you don’t have freedom, then you are entirely dependent on some master for your safety, which is the opposite of security, it means your life is the product of someone else’s decisions.

Security is lost at the exact same degree freedom is lost.

Never lose sight of the fact that THE most important and most valuable aspect of #Bitcoin is its monetary policy.

Everything else is downstream of, or in service of, that element.

We are coming from a world where people never even considered “shopping” for a particular monetary policy, but are quickly barreling into a world where if you AREN’T shopping for a monetary policy, you likely won’t make it.

Their definition is literally insane:

This is *literally* the criminalization of #Bitcoin  in its entirety. Running the software in any form means you are committing a crime. nostr:note1sy3fgdthmkjvezja07f3xldjcrd87xskljdwnthfawpqghur8n0sger6q8

Regulation isn’t “reality,” it’s an artificial creation that can only be sustained to a certain degree based on the particular technological environment. What I’m saying is that the technological landscape will dictate the degree of cost effectiveness of certain legal structures. Very much like copyright issues and market structures for physical media fell apart during the early 2000s despite the many times that torrenters, websites, apps like Napster, and many others became victims of the govt and corporate resistance to the new reality, yet in the end they capitulated and the means and price by which they delivered media to the user changed completely.

We will likely get some weird amalgamation of the two conflicting forces, but it seems clear to me that the technology will severely increase the cost of regulating all of these services and applications as if they are giant payment institutions, and it won’t be sustainable in the long term.

There will likely be many “Samurai’s” along the way unfortunately.

We should not refer to institutions such as the CIA, as "intelligence" just because of the name. It is not an accurate name for their primary purpose:

They are professional liars. The institution is designed to construct, propagandize, and create broad acceptance of lies that support a particular agenda.

Yeah it would have to be pruned by default, but I bet they would have a full node option. Which aside from the storage cost would still be really cool to have a working reference implementation for a mobile centric full node

Very much so. Maf was working on BitTorrent and basically moved straight into this architecture from there, it just required tons of modular units because it is a full replacement for like 3 or 4 other major protocols of the internet stack.

The massive benefit of the pear model is the ability to distribute a file or application to millions of people with ZERO infrastructure cost.

What’s the biggest issue with relays and making a global network with #Nostr? Monetization. Even right now the costs of having a popular relay are very significant. This means that the network can’t “passively” exist at scale, and it’s a huge centralization pressure because nobody will donate $5,000 per month to keep relays running just to help the network.

In the Holepunch alternative, this cost is essentially nonexistent. Every individual feed will act like a live torrent and you simply download from all of the other followers, and they can selectively store old content as they wish and it’s automatically available from those who do.

The more people who join/follow/chat/etc, the faster and more responsive and less costly all of it becomes. Whereas in the relay model, the bigger it gets the more expensive it is and the worse the experience is without aggressive scaling, which means they need money.

In short, the client/server model is a major reason why the internet centralized around platforms. The Holepunch protocol fixes the client/server barrier.

Everything that’s real food can go bad really fast… but I’ll accept the milk maid option.

That’s just a horrible orientation. If someone’s goal is to force some imagined society onto someone else that isn’t even relevant to them, and they think that this will somehow make them successful and happy, then they simply have a mental illness.

Believing that you can accomplish something is a prerequisite to actually making it a reality.

In other words, if you believe everything you want is something you can’t get, you are right 100% of the time.

If you believe you can achieve all the things that you want, and go for them with all you’ve got, you may end up wrong with a lot of it, but when you get it right, you can do absolutely incredible things. nostr:note1jy805mfxjgdy97jl8uwgmmqtwwh0jy3usmmetv326wlfql6ye7askng3j4
