one of the things that has been part of the fiatmine gig i have (well, the pay is indexed on fiat) is MBTI, the Myer-Briggs personality system.

as a child i did the test and i got INTP, but when i do it now, 2x out of 3 i get INTJ. well, i guess that means that something changed in me since then. i have thought about it and i think it's that the P is observation and J is impulse and i'm more impulsive and decisive than i was back then.

the other thing that resonated was one site gave a general term for INTJ as "the mediator" and i was like, "omg, i forget how many times i got into shit over the years trying to mediate between people in conflict"

yeah, ok, i'm INTJ

introspective, intuitive, thinking, judging. my mother was ENFJ and we used to often have conflicts about exactly the fields that were different - she was more outward focused and more focused on feeling that thinking.

it's not a useless system, i think. probably can be useful to help guide an organisation. the one i work in i have definitely had issues with two specific people in it and probably they will return a test that has one or both of the last two in conflict (those are tension oriented) or the first two different (those cause misunderstanding).

I'm talking more about strategy, i.e. getting from point A, which is a government-imposed unlawful restriction, to point B, the removal of said restriction.

That's why getting nothing done isn't ideal

As long as doing something means getting the government out of the way, that ought to be good

That gets problematic when the thing that's getting done if the removal of rules that shouldn't exist, like taxation, regulation, licensing, etc.

And the fact that the method of coming up with a particular law is also flawed

The idea that "we are the government" in democracies is a logical trap. Majority rule doesn’t make expropriation voluntary.

And then you have bullshit like in the US where fucking everyone "needs" your social security number. It's used for seemingly everything when the original use is right in the name. It's no wonder they're all (likely) compromised. We just froze all of the credit agencies. All we can do.

Like if a bank gives me a home loan. They kind of need my info. That doesn't excuse negligence, I just mean the actual data collection. I'm just saying that a minimum necessary data approach would be a lot better than where we are now. Most of the KYC stuff is unnecessary and forced though. But some of it would be necessary regardless in certain cases.

I added the almost because there probably are edge cases.

KYC is almost always the biggest problem when data breaches happen. In many cases, the impact would be a lot lower if the company didn't collect information it doesn't actually need.

the part i didn’t say about not being nervous is what to do instead. focus on being natural with your partner.

after meeting my wifes and friends family the thing they all said to me later on when i actually became part of the family is that they could tell we were comfortable together right away. they said they could tell by the way i touched her and looked at her (not in a pda type of way but in a “im here for you” type of way.
