Being continually bathed in light is a pretty modern thing. Growing up I could flip two switches and be in a dark sky preserve. I can see it being unnerving if you weren't used to it.

Mosha never counted like that, but I know she can in a way. I always give her the same number of treats, three. If I stop before the last one she will stare at me and give me a tap with her paw. After 3 she goes on her way, knowing she got the right amount. Very food oriented 😂

I thankfully grew up on one, a ranch far from any large cities. I live close to one in Southern Alberta, and have lived and worked out there for stretches. The night sky still amazes me.

Mackerel sky. I see this often on the prairies, means it's likely rain or a storm is coming soon. A moist air mass moving under a cold dry one, and the condensed clouds bunch up and "roll" between them. It does make for a beautiful sunset 🌄
