Conservatives advocating No Tylenol during pregnancy are essentially defending abortion when you really think about it.
Discussion
You can tell your wife during pregnancy to take Tylenol if you want, but the majority of Americans are not going to take Tylenol during pregnancy.
Taking Tylenol during pregnancy is bad and even Tylenol said so themselves.
I'm genuinely lost. What's the connection?
Fever
There is some association of between autism and the use of Tylenol during pregnancy. That is specifically strong if the use is for over 4 weeks of constant exposure. But other studies that looked at close siblings where one was under heavy Tylenol use and the other didnt don't show that the Tylenol baby had higher changes of austism. So, it could be something else, like the conditions Tylenol was treating for.
I beg to differ
I'm curious, how is it defending abortion?
Tylenol is usually used to reduce temperature during high fevers. You know what easily kills babies? High temperatures.
It's mainly used for pain relief
Ooh I see. It can cause miscarriage if you are in the first trimester. A lot of things can cause miscarriage in the first trimester - like getting your teeth cleaned, or getting a massage. But saying its pro abortion is a little much. 😅 the first trimester is definitely the most vulnerable time of any pregnancy.
I noticed someone commented that maybe the reason Tylenol is taken could be what caused the autism. Like the high fever.
Anyway, I feel like whenever pregnancy is brought up its more speculation and less about what's actually happening. You can't ethically ask a woman to do something that knowingly could endanger the baby for research. And you have to rely on self reporting which is... Probably not accurate at best. And this study apparently used research already available on PubMed. Not sure where those other studies got their research and how.
Pregnancy will always remain a mystery at this rate. I hate when people use it to fear monger and spread misinformation. Women's bodies CAN handle it. And the more fear struck into women the more I think these issues become self fulfilling prophecies.
I'm not anti Tylenol or pro Tylenol. A woman has to do what a woman has to do to make it through. A lot of the time pregnancy is picking the "lesser evil" because everything is so uncertain!
Sorry I didn't mean to write so much.
Reducing a fever with compresses is a difficult task
Time to touch some grass man
People have had babies for tens of thousands of years, without Tylenol.
You're not supposed to take any drugs during pregnancy, because those will always go to the child's blood stream.
Tylenol bottle clearly says to talk you your doctor before taking in pregnancy.. the problem is people just ignore the warning ..
Or maybe everyone is checking with their doctors and politicians are just manufacturing an issue to make some money in the stock market with insider trading.
No .. I know lots of people who think Tylenol is candy .. and many doctors too ..
During pregnancy? I have never seen a woman taking anything without talking to their doctors. They know there are risks on everything.
Btw ..so called politicians said exactly that ... " Talk to your doctor before talking Tylenol in pregnancy .. try to avoid it " ..
I am sure didn't watch Whitehouse announcement on this .. Trump repeated this like five times ..
No one said " DONT take Tylenol" .. they said use extreme precautions..
Well, I did watch. It was a shit show. They didn't tell people to talk to their doctors. They told everyone, multiple times, to simply stop taking it.
Check this at 15 minutes .. RFK is clearly saying doctors and clinicians to use their best judgement .. no one has Banned Tylenol!
Bro lots of woman drink and smoke and do meth while pregnant without talking to the doctor or anyone
Bingo. Guessing to this issue will be forgotten about rather quick.
And it's not even illegal and nobody in power (in the US) wants to change that. Maybe they got their playbook from Pelosi 👌
"Absolutely no Tylenol during pregnancy" is an absurd and antiscientific position. There's no serious study that backs this.
Nonetheless, the use of any medication during pregnancy must be with extra caution and with medical consultation. Tylenol themselves do not recommend it.
TLDR go check with a doctor whether the benefits outweigh the risks, not with the US president.
No, everyone has known for years not to take Tylenol while pregnant. This is actually not new. Not at all the same as killing a child.
Again, the burden of managing pain and illness without the proper medication falls to women because of new *science*.
As men we ask a lot of women but what are you actually providing and giving back to balance the scales?
I see a lot of degenerate men drinking booze every night while their partner is abstaining from shellfish, cheese, ibuprofen, alcohol and a laundry list of other potential teratogens.
Morally bankrupt behaviour.
A lot of deadshit’s trying to make big calls about who should do what from a soap box built on quicksand and bullshit.
If you don’t know what nostr:nprofile1qqsyvrp9u6p0mfur9dfdru3d853tx9mdjuhkphxuxgfwmryja7zsvhqpzamhxue69uhhv6t5daezumn0wd68yvfwvdhk6tcpzpmhxue69uhkummnw3ezumt0d5hs844lyj is referring to, that’s a big problem.
Act accordingly.
Lay off the retard juice there champ.
Do you hear about the link between Tylenol and the vaccine? OMG.. That's where this is all going. The vaccine is going to be front & center to this Tylenol story.. Has to do with Tylenol binding with something in the vax that destroys some enzyme or something in the baby. Sorry, I heard this in passing. Anyone else hear about this?
Why are you acting like we are having a casual IRL convo? You have access to the same info as everyone else. The Tylenol story is the current thing. DYOR.
Setting aside causality (acetaminophen or underlying condition) this is a bad take and a false binary.
Tell that to the woman that are being told to "toughen up" and risking the life of their babies together while experiencing a 4 week long headache and fever (which is where the association with autism starts).
First, I'm not in the "no Tylenol" crowd. Second, even if I was, why not tackle the fever by addressing the underlying cause (e.g, urinary tract infection w/antibiotics) rather than simply suppressing with acetaminophen or a NSAID? Also, hydration is seriously underrated in fever suppression. My point is that there are other options. Hence, charging the "no Tylenol" crowd with "defending abortion" is a false binary.
The other options have risks too. Not doing anything also has risks. Nothing can be discarded as an option because it can very well be the best option. None of this is new. The only new thing is government claiming causality without any data to back it off.
Guy, no one said toughen up. This has been known for at least 4 years because they told my wife not to take tylenol when she was carrying my first son. They have alternatives, Tylenol is just very common so they have to actively tell women to avoid it.
I feel like we are making things partisan that weren't before because a specific person said it. If Trump said Nostr was the best thing and more people should develop it, would you stop your work?
In here to observe all the men in the replies.
Aren't you happy about that?
It's anyway just a scapegoat, it's the vaccines after birth that do the damage. This is just a story for NPCs.
Read the study, and decide for yourself.
Then you probably need to read some extra about NSAIDs😋
Fascinating hiw people turn science into politics(scientism). Don't trust, verify. The science way...
At the same time, the research is sometimea compromised and corrupted, as it's steered by financing.
I feel like you just unwillingly participated in some sort of abortion rorschach test.
What a weird take
Next executive order will be about obligatory praying during pregnancy and Sunday church visits.
Trust science, not politicians
