I have dogs.

I love dogs.

But it just dawned on me that humans basically created severely retarded wolves because we’re lonely.

😂😂😂

No it's cause they're lighter sleepers and can guard our families through the night.

Facts

The wild thing is that our creations were deemed a success. I look at my dog and think that all the time.

Grew up with cattle dogs.

Definitely not retarded.

I deduce you also grew up with cattle

Are you psychic?😱

maybe… 👁️

Depends on the breed really. Several dog species with the right education and training can outsmart and hunt a wild wolf any day of the week.

Now if we are talking about something like this...

Yup, agree with you 100%

Ha, ok, Cyber Dog excluded! 😂

I rescued an annoying little chihuahua. He’d never be worth anything in a fight, but he’s the best alarm system ever. When we go for walks in the park if theres a person or animal approaching within 20 feet he’ll let you know.

If another dog comes within 10 feet of the stroller, thats red alert.

Dogs are great 🐾

Not that different from children? When we are lazy and don’t teach our kids to apply themselves, teach them how to learn and grow, we end up with children that make life a burden.

Power of inbreeding

I love my retarded wolf too

🐶🫂⚡️

They're our favorite kind of GMOs

Yes!

Sometimes I wonder if it’s not been dogs who domesticated us. They live like kings now! 🙃

Who saved who?

I'm dying over here my god hahahhaha

Ha!

More like we imbued them with reverse autism. They're more attunded to people's body language and social cues.

I've met dogs smarter than some people.

Makes sense

Also, I want some of what you're smoking

If they didn't have the capacity to work symbiotically with us, they wouldn't.

We adopted dogs because they were compatible with us

But we can't adopt dolphins because they don't work with our lifestyle dispite them having such high communication capabilities.

It’s never too late

Dogs adopted us first, I'm convinced of it. They extended the olive branch through scavenging rather than attacking. We valued their protection so we continued sharing our scrap piles.

I fully agree on the body language & symbiosis. Having a deaf dog had taught me so much about how they perceive the world vs us. Their strengths are all of our shortcomings.

Cats domesticated themselves.

Dog pups get kidnapped by monkey tribes for protection.

Wolves created weak humans because they were hungry.

Maybe humans were so loney, they were willing to take care of a retarded wolf?

Or perhaps empathy for the retarded wolf? 🤔🐾

No we just gave the one with Down syndrome a home after they got kicked out of the pack , coz we have a big heart

this is way nicer

AND…..we also have two wolves inside us too.

Probably true but I like to think of myself as semi-functional 😂😂

I eat, sleep, and stack sats. Not sure what else there is to do in life.

Disagree. Dogs are smart, far more attuned in terms of emotional intelligence than a lot of people. Maybe most. Wolves, by contrast, are more instinct driven machines. I'm sure they're smart, but in a more narrow way.

You could argue the complete opposite.

They evolved to be cute and have another species look after them. Feed them, give them a comfortable place to sleep, safety…

Before they became couch potatoes, dogs were bred for specific purposes.

Let’s just say *modern* dogs are more like retarded wolves that serve as needy body pillows. My golden retriever would agree. She does retrieve extremely well, however lol

I love dogs too. The only animal that can love you more than themselves. Unconditional love.

The dogs are the smart ones. They get free board and lodging. They get to lie around all day while their human servants care to their every whim. Free healthcare thown in.

Furry, four-legged hustlers

true

This is a classic. I remember that from the day. One other I recall is a buck deer saying to his other buck deer, "That's a bummer of a birthmark you got there." The birthmark was shaped like a target directly over his chest.

Classic Comic Strip

My dog doesn't approve

He’s got self respect! 👊🐾

To be fair, wolves likely chose that at some point in the past. I think it was likely a natural partnership for survival. Fast forward and you have pugs. We fucked up.

Ha, yeah we let those cute bastards down.

Interestingly, the breeds as we know them now are a very recent development as of the last 200 years or so.

Of course. That's when we got super retarded apparently lol

I'll rest my case with pugs. There are many examples though.
