Does $100k/year sound like a lot of income, to you?

No

Yeah, me neither.

It was in the 90’s though

My ex was making €100k back in the 90s. It didn't seem like much. Nicer car and appartment, basically.

Excersizing his stock options at the top of the market was a rainmaker, tho.

Property>>>>Income

Ownership of assets is always more important than income

Yeah, watching that go down taught me a life lesson.

Also, about the importance of asymmetric plays.

MSTR is teaching that lesson to the rest of the market

$250k sounds like a lot, to me.

Not a lot

yes

but I can live off of ramen and eggs

you can afford eggs?

now just ramen

I was gonna start asking questions 😆

😅

No, but I can make it work/last.

We scraped by on $50k for 4 people. It's doable, but you end up on a beans-n-rice diet and wash your clothes at the laundrymat. It's okay.

Ya, quite a lot of corners to cut and sacrifices to be made. That's enough motivation to keep aiming for more.

Taught me to work hard, yes.

I think it's unwise for men to keep their wives that poor for very long, tho. Unless she's ugly. LOL

so basically banksters and politicians robbing us with inflation and taxes is literally making incels

Well, yeah. But we knew that.

it would be cooler if the incels all understood that

They don't know that?

or they would be bitcoiners probably

Not at all and I've never made anything near that. But I also think $1m isn't a lot of money either.

My friend's and I have decided, from our experience (mostly theirs) about $250-350k is a healthy range for a single income and keeps the feds away. It's also possible to make that without really getting into shuffling money everywhere all the time.

Yeah $250k+ would impress me.

I know so many people making more and they just have normie jobs, like accountants and engineers and chemists.

I don't know any of those but I'll take your word for it. Maybe people in their 50s I could point to. But they had 30 years of making much less than that. By the time I'm 50 I want wayyyyy more than that, or that much completely passive.

Well, we're all senior citizens, compared to you, whippersnapper. 🤣

We're in the Peak Income phase, unfortunately. Probably downhill, from here.

XD

What's the "Peak Income Phase"?

Middle-age, where you're still young enough to keep up, but old enough to be a "senior employee".

Last year? Yes.

This year? Less so.

In five years? No.

Nope but 1 BTC/year sounds pretty legit.

Best answer.

Depends on the Country you live in 🌎

It depends on the geo location I'm at. Currently yes. It's a lot.

Depends on debt. $100k with a car payment and a mortgage is scraping by, nevermind sending kids to college. $100k debt free is living large.

I wish. 😅

If you earn $100k, you get 4700/net monthly. If you earn $75k, you get 3700. These aren't lifestyle-changing differences.

In Germany, I mean.

That's the dream :)

Nope

Yes. That’s more than double my current annual income, and honestly making more money is exactly what I need right now. I’m sure eventually it wouldn’t sound like a lot, and I suppose in the grand scheme of society and money it’s not truly a large amount, however I believe this to be a subjective view based on your current circumstances. To someone who doesn’t make much, 100k is a dream.

Yes of course

It’s a LOT to me and to any living here in Argentina.

I’m one of the lucky ones and I earn about 15.000/25.000/year. Is you make 100k here you are top 0.5% of population.

I wish one day we can make that. For now, I’m struggling to get some sats

Depending on where you live, $100k is barely enough to ante up to the table, especially if you're trying to support a family just on that income.

Can barely rent a decent townhouse in a not-crappy neighborhood, on that income, around here.

In the US, as long as you're not in a coastal elite city, you could probably buy a house and raise kids in a lower-middle-class lifestyle on that. You'd have to be careful with the budget.

Brutal, out there.

Were the same over here. High taxes, expensive land. $150k combined is pennies. Barely pays the insane mortgage on people's $500k 1000sqft starter home and utilities XD

😭

So glad I got a home-office job, so that I don't have to move even closer to Munich. That'll send you to the poor house, fr.

It's x2 my salary 🫠

Does this income maker live in San Francisco, Switzerland, Argentina, or Turkey?

Where I live that's a lot of money

Same

Money is digital there's no sound.

It's literally just dollars

I it is tax (theft) free, yes it sounds like good amount of money.

Yes

I'm living a modest life. So, yes!

surface/ inside provision, imho, is a value add & helpz the rest flourish*/****

Depends on where you live. Check your privilege. 🙂🫂

It was a big deal in the 80s and 90s

5 years ago, yes. Not so much now

Everything costs double, now, I swear.

Without a doubt. I always say that I had two little benchmarks for living costs, both trivial items from the supermarket. And both of those are at least double in cost from five years ago.

nope

Kids, amiright?

yep

lol

Depends on where you are living, and on your lifestyle

USD?

Depends on what city/region/country you live in.

To some it is a lot, to others it is not.

What purchasing power does it give you relative to your needs (not to be confused with wants)?

How many sats does it allow you to stack?

In general— it isn’t a lot given the fact the purchasing power is being stolen out of the ass pocket of every fiat earner via theftflation and endless backed by nothing printing it ain’t funny money.

100,000 fiat bucks is 6.4X my famiy's annual health insurance cost.

That’s insane! So no is your answer 😃

Yes and yes.

A lot? No. But comfortable for an individual? Yes.

Depends solely on lifestyle. Some people like to live lavishly and spend more then they need, for those, $100K will seem like nothing

Some can live a simple life and be content with everything they have, for those, they’d be grateful for100K

Yes

It depends on what your doing for the 100k

Time

Money

I am not American so yes

This was an incredible post to read through the replies. Very interesting ⚡️

Most of the middle class people in the world live on maybe half of that, really depends on where you live.

Is it "a lot"? Dunno, maybe. If you start competing with the Joneses, nothing will suffice.

when its passive, its not bad

yes

Yes it does to me

that is a lot of money 😅

Not any more.
