I made damus, npubs, and zaps ⚡️ Independent bitcoin core and lightning dev.

ah cool. yeah notedeck looks really good on macs, it's definitely pleasant to use there. I'm writing this from notedeck on my linux machine.

what's cool is that we are planning on putting all of the deck configuration in encrypted notes, so you can have the same config synced between machines.

me after implementing multiaccount on notedeck

is it in anything other than amethyst ?

Is anyone else having issues with nostr:npub12vkcxr0luzwp8e673v29eqjhrr7p9vqq8asav85swaepclllj09sylpugg?

I’m opening the app but it’s not loading the latest content, wallet, notifications nor profile pages…

I have good Internet connection, so that shouldn’t be the issue.

Is it because I use two clients simultaneously? I run the latest version of the app.

Not having these issues with nostr:npub18m76awca3y37hkvuneavuw6pjj4525fw90necxmadrvjg0sdy6qsngq955

#AskNostr

notifications have never worked for me in primal, I dunno.

Why is chronological display an issue here?

The main issue I see with the zapraiser tag is that it’s harder to list and find all the fundraisers.

Downside with quote is that if zap goal type isn’t supported in a kind1 client, the zap would go to the quote and not the zap goal.

nostr:npub1xtscya34g58tk0z605fvr788k263gsu6cy9x0mhnm87echrgufzsevkk5s somebody posted a screenshot of whatchoo said about playing with code on Ark… but I can find it. Which repository has the up-to-date Ark II protocol to look at?

not sure I was only playing with steven roose's bitcoin-core one at one point. there is a liquid one which is not as interesting to me.

you could always assimilate instead bwahaha

hmm probably don't need to tag myself

I just upload videos to my own private hosting server… By the way nostr:npub1xtscya34g58tk0z605fvr788k263gsu6cy9x0mhnm87echrgufzsevkk5s it would be amazing if an API could be provided for how nostr.build manages this so we can self host easily and transparently within Damus.

using this note to test again, sorry

testing again just incase

vpn done right. Its a vpn that can’t see what you’re connecting to

I would never quote the file metadata note directly though, its mainly for searching gifs and putting the url from that into a post. Still would save lots of space on nostr.build, and people wouldn’t have to reupload gifs all the time.

If you haven’t used it in awhile we have a new unique feature: local search. You just pull down on the timeline to find it. I think we’re one of the only clients that has that. Most clients will send you queries to relays and leak what you’re searching for.

We’re trying to be as client-focused as possible, which protects privacy. Our UX isn’t as good though, we’re still working on that.

yay I finally have a client I can post from on my linux desktop. it's downhill from here.

nip94 gives us the ability to build giphy on nostr itself. Anyone can publish a nip94 note of a gif, and clients can optionally publish these notes when you share a gif, so you can find gifs your friends use. gif services can also publish these notes.

nip94 is file metadata. It’s a perfect usecase for this.

The contents of file metadata is a description of the gif, search engines can use this to do gif searches.

You can also add tags to the metadata note, so you can search on the image/gif mime type and the “lol” tag to quickly find lol gifs.

We have everything we need to start building this.

time to go outside… 😬 whats everyone else up to this weekend 👀

yes, we can do it, but people should be conscious of that the easiest implementation has privacy and reliability issues. I have been attacked by people on the network saying that I don’t care about feedback and that I’m not implementing things that people want like gif keyboards, but it’s just not that simple.

do old fashioneds break the fast

Markdown is not spec’d in kind1. Many clients don’t render markdown in kind1. They really shouldn’t to make client dev’s lifes easier if they want to keep their kind1 client simple.

I would rather integrate a google api

People always tell me they come back to damus because it’s reliable. There’s a reason it’s reliable, it’s exactly because I don’t have many centralized integrations. The only main one is nostr.build, and it’s the most complained about thing when it goes down or when users hit the upload limit.

If i didn’t have these principles then damus wouldn’t be damus. People can say i’m not listening to users (which is not true), i am just not going to make damus more brittle over time. My goal is that it will keep working even after I’m dead, even with noone around to maintain it.

then we would just feed this nostrscript query into a gif keyboard somehow 🤔 can’t think of any other way to do it without relying on a service

I will build a nostrscript algo that is a gif feed just for you corn

Yeah same, we are fixing. Never seen this before
