The most beautiful big american city

Why has the United States over the past century culturally declined worse than Argentina?

Asking because we tend to think these things are downstream of money printing, and money printing in Argentina in this period was orders of magnitude worse than the US.

But in terms of the average population, the masses, people seem to be in better health here, dress better, have less addictions and eat less junk.

Is it the ability of printing a stronger currency? Massive corporations and using the American public as guinea pigs?

Yeah like TSA. Never seen humans so retarded, and I've been around

Soccer... make it make sense 😂

It's football

Of course LN is necessary as a settlement system. Just not as a fast micropayments system.

GM!

Many "ecash not self custodial therefore bad" posts without bringing up the question of the amount.

Nobody is saying put your life savings in ecash.

Keeping pocket change with a custodian is not a problem - the opposite actually, it brings insanely better UX and privacy.

This topic is always brought up without talking of the amount. It always depends on the amount.

The argentine peso is absolute horseshit by any measure, continually being rugged. But I always hold some. Why? it's very convenient in my day to day. HOW MUCH i hold is the important question.

About time to recognize and embrace the fact that the Lightning Network has failed as a fast micropayments system.

On top of that, nostr integration (zaps) is slow and convoluted and hosting your own LNURL server a pain in the ass. I tried a few weeks ago and gave up.

Where did I move to? Custodial providers. Mutiny (with Fedimint - which then broke), Alby and npub.cash.

Custodial is the only realistic solution for pocket change amount of sats, so why not embrace that and make the best UX possible? The UX nostr:npub1l2vyh47mk2p0qlsku7hg0vn29faehy9hy34ygaclpn66ukqp3afqutajft just demoed is basically unbeatable.

It's not only good for me, it's good for all the new people we will onboard to this magic world of bitcoin and nostr 💜

It's our responsibility to keep incessantly educating about self-custody for larger amounts.

Ok man no need to use that satoshi phrase 😂

Sure, we can agree to disagreee. Nostr definitely lets you defend your identity and data (otherwise there would be no point in building what we're building). And in practical terms it's impossible for a powerful actor to seize the entirety of the infrastructure across the globe where you keep copies of your signed notes

Why?

I need a list of images to build the app screenshots carousel, if I embedded images I would need to parse links and guess which images form part of it

About your opinion, I mean

Thanks! The tool doesn't really work with replaceable events

There has to be a middle ground, I like the hypernote concept as exemplified here. Conversely should we have hypernotes for, as you say, displaying discussions with emojis and so on that can be used in zap.store?

Just remember that HTML is very common but not universal - native apps are not web apps.
