While a critical problem in our society, I think most people are focused on personal affordability problems. Would likely get traction if you highlighted how the system is set up to keep people coming back and how it an elaborate way for private prisons to extract maximum dollars from the state and it see prisoners as a commodity that should be grown like corn and not healed and rehabilitated and the returned to contributing members of society.
