lol, little late to the party on that one, it already burned and then came back and everyone forgot already.

possible war crime here, you should see the white fatty coming out, but here its all become black.. too damn far! πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚

I was always a fan of relay feeds, but especially now with 100% of my old clients broken that were using the following feeds, I'm doubling down on relay feeds.

I also have a strfry-router script, that takes my follows, and creates a following feed using outbox technique (30 or so relays greedy algo). Then I connect to that and BOOM, my old following feed is back in action for easy browse from a single local relay, just incase I start to miss it. Which I did a little bit.

just @cloud fodder and 121 others testing new client πŸ˜‡

sweet, i am trying to get things stabilized for a decent release, but if you are brave and want to try it now with all its bugs you can add obtainum source https://apks.relay.tools/apks

Sometimes, you may need to refresh the page to see the new state of the lists.. Single page app problems. Let me know, and if it's a problem I will def debug. This is important functionality.

Distributed world-wide nostr relay monitoring and reporting with NIP66 was optimal results during AWS outage. Flake tolerance maximum.

yah, image display per relay, an important setting i am pioneering πŸ¦… i wanna see what i wanna see, when i wanna see it. on wine, i have it off.

GM all! Posting this from a new relay centric android app I'm building. Is it wrong to like using your own app this much? πŸ˜‚πŸ«‘

It was very slow for me, (even after the loading and being patient). I think, this is probably nice on your slower connection, but on fast connections it will be slower and as the cache fills, it will get slower and slower until the browser breaks (would be my guess). A faster cache would be running a cache relay that is gathering this data from the relays for you.. Then pointing jumble at that so that it can do it's multi-tier cache things..

unfortunately those that PR'd this protected event protection into strfry did not think to make it optional. if you want you can patch it to the previous behavior of accepting them. I have a fork where I reverted it. https://github.com/jeremyd/strfry

i examined jumbles caching system, that was def why it's so fast. cody knew what he was doin. i'm experimenting with android caches. amazing how much it can just hold in memory.. and supplement with quartz large cache for persistence.

nostr:npub1fjqqy4a93z5zsjwsfxqhc2764kvykfdyttvldkkkdera8dr78vhsmmleku Giving orly a spin this morning! How do I get it to spider? I set the frequency to 5m but I don't see it kicking off any jobs. I fed it my follow list, and put myself as an owner. I'll keep looking at these .envs to try to figure it out..

using google messages yeah, it just stopped working recently.. (or started working worse).

I wish I had a way to talk to my iphone frens. They keep trying to group message me, and it ends up being this weird MMS thing and doesn't work. I'm pretty sad about it. Should I just "buy an iphone"? What a waste of elite metals, slave labors and stolen development hours. 😭

Seriously, is there any way to talk to them? Like some kind of iMessage emulator?

/me dies inside

I can load 75,000+ notes from the last 3 days of nostr+brainstorm into my phone in 2 seconds, and search it for mesh network topics, posts and npubs.

Livin in da futur. This ain't so bad.

@fiatjaf must have been the instructor i can totally see him adding a "too nice" clause πŸ˜‚

relay and tag feeds now supported on the noirc.net IRC server! πŸ¦… This screenshot is from revolution IRC client available on f-droid and obtainium via f-droid repo.

im still running v25

i take it back, it isnt crashing now, i just need to compare it to my other feeds so i can tell if im missing stuff.

gonna delete this, just to see what happens 😁

i agree, the nwc seems a bit hard to implement and to use. and im hesitant to spend so much time on an implementation if it wont be used.

you should get it. starlink is nice. basically, CI/CD is something that can cost a lot on a rented server because it is very bursty and much of it just sits idle, till it needs to run and then it sucks if its a slow server when it does need to run. fast internet is key. laptops are way more powerful than any low tier server.

they cut your stream, and then shilled primal from the desk πŸ˜… surprised they (the desk) even talked about nostr at all tho..

you should try doing it all on a home server? you can run minikube on your laptop, or on an old upgraded PC, .. the thing is, hosting is so overpriced, you wouldnt believe some of the server bills ive seen, and this is what can break a project (wasteful costs).

tho I know your internet is slow, is it possible to spend on faster internet because it would enable you to run more services *and be fast for everything you do..

if not, yeah you should rent a VPS and run minikube on that instead.

auth can happen at any time, its a very vague spec. other relays may send back public results if you dont auth, i call this 'mixed mode'. but relay.tools does not support this yet, the main purpose of auth for my implementation was to protect dms, and in the future to support nip70. eventually i will implement mixed mode also as it has been requested a lot.

as a relay, it is possible to ask for auth from any key to fend off bots, but bots have started to become smarter and this trick no longer works.

using a random key, will likely not really work too well because the other use of auth is specialty relays like nostr:nprofile1qqsrhuxx8l9ex335q7he0f09aej04zpazpl0ne2cgukyawd24mayt8gprfmhxue69uhhq7tjv9kkjepwve5kzar2v9nzucm0d5hszxmhwden5te0wfjkccte9emk2um5v4exucn5vvhxxmmd9us2xuyp s zapbox or lockbox, or nostr:nprofile1qqsw9n8heusyq0el9f99tveg7r0rhcu9tznatuekxt764m78ymqu36cpr3mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujucnfw33k76twwpshy6ewvdhk6tcpzdmhxue69uhhwmm59e6hg7r09ehkuef0qy2hwumn8ghj7un9d3shjtn4w3ux7tn0dejj7ne6u4e s algo relay it needs to know who you are to provide you a custom feed.

so basically, tldr, i can't think of a reason i'd bother doing random auth if i were you, unless there truly are more relays that do this trick i mentioned.

amethyst started working again on master branch. i still use jumble tho, just not jumble maxi for now..
