Unsolicited advice for my fellow cypherpunks (and developers) on wanting to get credit for your work – don't.

The more used your work becomes, the more injustices you'll experience. If you fixate on injustices, you'll only feed the problem and end up limiting your ability to keep building.

I've been through plenty of dumb situations over the years, and one thing helped me push through is the mantra of: credit is in the outcome.

So focus on that – and if the outcome achieved is not enough to keep you motivated, find something that is, instead of creating a demand that others have to recognize or appreciate the work you've done.

I have to stop coding in my sleep, all that work wasted. There is no save button.

Like actual life, you can't save anything.

Freedom is not when you are *allowed* to leave the room. Freedom is when there's no one in between you and the door.

When I did the 7 day retreat, I was allowed to leave. But I felt my freedom had been stripped away from me. Yes, I could have told them I wanted to leave, but I would've had to explain myself, they would've tried to convince me, I would've had to push them until they give me my car keys. It doesn't matter if my freedom was only 15 minutes or an hour away from me taking the decision to leave. The fact of the matter is that there were other people than me in-between myself and my freedom.

Before going there I had been living in my car for a few months. Absolute and total freedom. But it is only after leaving this retreat that I realized my freedom had became my most valuable belonging.

I've been seeing a baby green frog in my garden every day. I've enjoyed seeing it & took it as a sign a vibrancy. But then in got me wondering are there lots of baby frogs in my garden or I'd it the same frog moving around?

So I started looking for other frogs. I paid special attention to my sick looking cassava plants still waking from winter. They/it seemed to like hanging out on them for some reason, even though it provided little camouflage.

No more frogs but I noticed this strange looking spidery bug that I've never seen before. I was reminded of how special & diverse life is & how labels tend to diminish the mystery somewhat. I'm still keen to know what it's called & how it lives.

Took my homeschooled son for his basketball physical today. Predictably, the physician immediately pivoted to pushing multiple vaccines. When I declined, he pressed for justification.

My response was direct: “I don’t trust your institution or the regulatory framework governing it.” He launched into rehearsed statistics, the same talking points designed to manufacture consent through appeals to authority rather than genuine informed consent.

I cut through the theater: “He’s my child, not yours.”

The conversation ended there. No coercion, no further attempts at manipulation. Just acceptance of parental authority as it should be

The more I talk to men and hear their daily stresses, the more I'm grateful I'm not a man. And I mean that in a nice way 😂 I just have no desire to have the same stresses. I'm not saying that women can't do men's jobs - but I think that's the minority. I have an engineering degree but I have no desire to use it again. I remember when my son was 2 and I’d had a hammer out fixing something. I’d asked my eldest son (14yrs) to put the hammer away. I little while later from another room I hear this weird tapping sound so my curiosity got the better of me and I followed the noise to the kitchen. There in the kitchen was my 2yr old ‘fixing’ our brand new fridge with the hammer. 😂

I've received zaps before on other NOSTR browsers.

I don't know why I can't receive them now.
