I'll find it and share it at some point lol
I'm gonna put it in my will that I want my corpse dismembered and scattered to the four corners of the earth because nobody is going to do that, and it's a statement on the futility of having your will executed after you're dead.
Am i in the wrong here? I dont feel like i am, but maybe i misread the situation. #Meshtastic

Not really. But remember, these FOSS maintainers work a lot, get people acting like they are owed something a lot, so they're often in defense mode and standoffish. A little bit of "not trying to bark down your throat man" goes a long way with some of them. Others can't be helped and are just pricks, this guy in particular doesnt come across that way.
This is the saddest shit I've ever heard https://cdn.nostrcheck.me/3b7fc823611f1aeaea63ee3bf69b25b8aa16ec6e81d1afc39026808fe194354f/ba9c135daf570f5014b29f9cea17aa16ad16e19c0796cac7b3b5296aabe196ea.webp
No joke I know a guy that dived head first into nfts and "ethereum killers" in 2020 and had a fucking psychotic break in 2021 when his dreams of riches were thoroughly crushed.
You write good informative stuff. I almost always enjoy reading it.
I've been doing the degoogle stuff for quite a long time now and have a over good understanding of it, you're always on point. I live the lifestyle fully, just as you describe, and have been for about a decade with some improvements along the way. I have the mindset.
Let me ask you, do you have some business model in mind? Like offering services down the road, anything like that? Or are you just trying to be a philanthropic educator?
You ever consider willow for fencing?
This sounds really cool actually. I'd be interested I'm acquiring some cheap for simple device to device and low bandwidth communications. Weather stations, time keeping servers, intercoms and things like that.
I tell people this all the time. You don't understand in depth what you think you do until you can articulate it in more than one way. Taking time to do that helps you find your blind spots in your understanding of the world, helps you learn and grow and helps you help others. This is about the only good use in arguing with people online, but ego must be abandoned in that endeavor to get the best out of it.
What's the range per power consumption on these types of devices? And bitrate?
Hey man, I've seen the meshtastic crowd showing these things off, and I'm aware what they do, but how does this practically help you in your life to set these types of things up? I'm curious if it's just a toy or if I could find good use in my life for things like this.
Yeah but bamboo, it's just for looks? Do you use it as material for something? A living fence? I know bamboo will take everything over if you don't maintain it.
I'm not quite following. Would you elaborate? Seems to me, a bottleneck on keypair generation would reduce the number of accounts that can be generated for spam, so it would significantly reduce spam as spammer have to continuously generate new keys as they're blocked or filtered by relays.
This of course doesnt take into account message level PoW, where one must be in the hash of the messages themselves, which clients and relays could implement.
And none of it addresses how PoW requirements are communicated between parties, both users and relays, to ensure that everything doesnt just become some standard, which is sure to be a difficulty of 0 in that case. I should he able to set a PoW as a user for DMs from users not in my follows list, for example, or something like that. Seems to me it would be better than WoT because it wouldnt shut new keypairs out of the network effects.
100% a good idea IMO. The problem is, how does this get implemented? Relays can require it, but they'd prefer to just require a zap which is purchased PoW, if a client allows users to require it a user might want to turn it off because they already follow people with keys that dont have it already. And how does it get communicated to others? If I send a guy a message, I want to know that he won't get it because my key isn't compliant with his requirements.
Right now it's just raw plywood lolol but eventually paint it whatever for I like. If you like the wood look, something clear.
Holy shit.
This is a very big deal. I think it's rock solid. UK tries to hold everyone on earth subject to UK law, these guys turn around and sue them in US court for violating the US constitution. Prepare for the censorship regime to begin crumbling and the masks of the corporate strip mall that passes for the internet to fall off. They don't comply because they have to, they comply because they're in on the game. I'm very excited.
Almost all wallets are integrating swaps to monetize their app. It started with coinomi and changelly, which somehow hasn't been charged with fraud yet.
The only moble xmr wallet that I know of that doesnt have a swap service integrated is monfluo.
I know some of these swap services do shotgun KYC, and at least in the Monero world anyone that does that has historically been completely shunned, but many of them don't do that, or haven't done it yet, and know that their market is largely the Monero community. Lots of users find them useful, and as long as the app maintainers stick to responding to concerns from users of their swap features like they've been doing, it's an OK compromise IMO. We have sites like nostr:nprofile1qqsrnnzne83l04ycpvsmaf0tezjmnn0hlfjnjsctt2pxazk4yutgv4spr9mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuumwdae8gtnnda3kjctv9uq32amnwvaz7tmjv4skc7fwv3sk6atn9e5k7tcpzamhxue69uhhsmtj9e6hxetwdaehgu3wdaexwtch5wdjr that help us navigate the privacy landscape with regard to these services and the status quo seems positive, at least for now.
At some point, to protect users, one of these ROM developers is going to have yo fork away from upstream. Google makes this hard, similar to what they do with chromium, but it will have to be done.
The only concern I would have is, it would have to detect the reorgs from your node and not remote, or hash rate could be potentially manipulated in an attack. For the same reason, what criteria you could use to start and stop a miner would have to be carefully thought out. Automating adding and removing hash power to the network and normalizing it could cause secondary effects that would not be desirable if the feedback loops are not clearly understood.
An android app, man. Could be running on your node and set a variable or call a command or something and start a miner.
It's an atomic swap from bitcoin to Monero, the swap used to be called unstoppable swap. https://eigenwallet.org/eigenswap.html
Don't know if that's going to happen. It will, eventually, but I can't say I believe it will be very soon.
When what I've predicted occurs, and I now am leaning towards saying next year is when it starts, it's going to suck a lot of faith out of cryptocurrency in general. Of course us xmr guys know better, but the number go up and degens dont. With faith goes capital.
After that is when some people will begin to discover other ways of doing things that make more sense. I think this is when the cool stuff rises from the ashes, the cryptocurrency market decouples from bitcoin and all the different assets with any type of real utility begin to follow their own market trends, and obviously xmr is primed to shine, but I don't know how long it's going to take to get to that point. Could be a protracted bear, it could even take as long as the current sypercycle we are in, so 15 years, I have no idea. I do expect though that by then or shortly after bitcoin will have had a hard fork to remove the hard cap to maintain relevance, probably in vain.
Graphene OS has the same interface. I use lineageos right now, and the newest interface is abysmal. Tried graphene, same thing except "not necessary" quality of life features were also missing because useful interface tools that other people have already built are out of scope for an operating system apparently. Still cool security stuff tho.
Payment to an address with an npub on the transaction data. Btcpay server, go to a website, provide an npub and make a payment, that's best done with a batch payment. You could do it entirely nostr native too, DM an npub, it gives you a reply with a total and you zap that message by that amount. You could even have it send users reminders that their balance is nearing empty.
Well it's just tiring. There is an attempt at a 51% attack, but currently it's not quote that far yet. There is a PR attack going on though, FUD as they say.
More than you know actually. GRINs block size is theoretically limited only by the speed of light distance between the two spatially most distant nodes.
Moonboi detected.
Beef is ridiculous right now. Been dating lots of pork and chicken lately.
I never stopped torrenting, never had one of these streaming service accounts and I'm never going to.
No. I don't have a critique. My point is only what I've said. Two satoshis aren't necessarily interchangable. This means they're not fungible. That is all I've said.

It's not possible to provide something comparable to what we do on other devices yet.
Thank you.
It's looking light on the details to me. "It would be a lot of work to support other devices" is basically the entirety of it, I'm seeing no detailed hardware requirements for a phone to be a candidate except "made by google."
Understand, I'm not attacking anyone here. I will be buying a pixel and running grapheneos on it very soon. But I still wonder, when you say "only pixel satisfied these requirements" why, particularly, is that the case?
That's why they don't want you to have children, so they can be the "something larger than yourself."
There is only family and creativity.
I dunno man, I've had a back and forth or two with you, and have observed some involving other Monero bros on here, and you usually harp on the point "the sender knowing where to send to the recipient is tracing" which honestly I think does you a disservice. The last one we had you made a good solid genuine set of arguments, but usually it's the same tired one.
I'm curious why you feel the need to make better arguments? You're either right or wrong. Seems like a crusade, working back from your preferred conclusion, if you're having to make new arguments for your point over time. Learning and understanding deeper is one thing, finding new angles to come to the desired conclusion is dishonest IMO.
Monero is a joke shitcoin with a broken privacy https://moneroleaks.xyz/
Monero is joke shitcoin that had countless hard forks too

Oh man, you had a good game going with the satoshi quotes. Why'd you blink?
I experience the same thing as the screenshot when I started making my own wine. Particularly if I brewed with certain yeasts, I could get absolutely trashed the night before and get deep, restful, healing sleep, wake up with no hangover, and the drunkenness wasnt stupifying, just bubbly and fun. I was very surprised by this, I can only match something like this with vodka or gin and a non sweetened mixer.
I don't eat seed oils so I don't know if that's a factor in liver injury, also I don't drink often so I'm not too worried about that.
Interesting video on money, quite a different take than I hear from bitcoiners: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X-D5FERQzU4
My summary of the video: There were never any barter economies. Money predates writing (the oldest writing cuniform on clay tablets were accounting records). Money is always tightly tied up with state power, primarily because states can enforce payment for debts owned which originated from people accidently harming other people.. the governmental power steps in and says "A owes B X amount of state-approved money to make this right." Thus, the value of a currency without intrinsic value is imparted to it by the power of the state that controls that money. Taxes just tie it even tighter to the governmental power. Every central power (state) has it's own money, with few exceptions (e.g. the Euro experiment, which is failing).
He doesnt actually justify the claim in the title anywhere in the video, he just states it. It's not insensible but I think either he did not adequately explain it or the video was cut short.
Who told you I'm using bitcoin? They haven't been using fiat since the beginning of time lol.
I'm not saying "people have been doing it so its fine". I'm dismissing your bullshit about "the billion dollar milk industry" by pointing out how milk consumption predates it, predates writing and even farming. Do you eat vegetables? Maybe you only eat vegetables because of big agriculture propaganda.
Turkic and northern European pastoralists have been drinking milk longer than people have been writing and even farming. The industry exists because demand exists, demand is the first mover. Only a privileged person who doesn't know want would pass up such a nutrient dense food source.
The truth is there hasn't been much of a value add for software produced after around when YouTube came out. Smartphones peaked around 2014. There's a handful of really cool things, nostr is a great example and it's already being eaten alive by midwit webdevs. Anybody today that uses the words "business case" needs to be laid off and their companies shut down, software is mostly a grift now, an industry feeding off its own carcass.
People that won't use some pecific social media because "nobody" uses it are brain dead. *Someone* uses it, do you like to meet new people? Who would you like to talk to that doesnt use this particular thing? Or is social media only for clout chasing and marketing?
What matters is if you like the people that do use it.
