To be honest, it was awesome. Meeting friends was an adventure every time. You’d call (on the landline) decide when and where to meet, and then venture out into the world with no means of communication until you returned home, unless you count the odd pay phone (which you never had change for anyway).

You answer the phone and you have to have an answer right then. Don’t answer, let it go to voicemail, let them text, and you can answer on your own time or not at all. Lol

I used to have a Palm Pilot. These were awesome! They had early handwriting recognition but you basically had to learn its alphabet shapes called Graffiti. When you got home you’d sync it and it would back up your notes, download messages and articles for you.
After my park pilot I got my first blackberry. Still have a refurbished one in the basement.
