Don’t know why but I have come away subdued. I can’t put my finger on it. 🧐
Currently on vacation, different time zone etc.
Firewood or something else?

I’m at my best when I follow routines but I only grow when I break them and start fresh.
This area of thought inquiry is front of mind for me atm. Appreciate the opportunity to respond. I am fairly happy with the progress I have made so far. It’s nice to engage in a dialogue that doesn’t start with an immovable position but rather leaves an open ended opportunity to chime in. Cheers.
It’s not clear from your post that you do or don’t think life has “purpose beyond randomness.”
Either way you will have to confront head on determinism, compatibilism or free will first, along with the question of whether there is a giver of purpose outside of humanity.
Yes, it is worth thinking about!
Wifi is a well defined electromagnetic phenomenon with measurable frequency, amplitude, and energy transfer, all measurable and governed by physics. While concepts like frequency, energy and vibration are a part of metaphysical belief systems, using those words without defining or being able to measure them puts them in a different belief category. This means that believing in wifi doesn’t logically commit someone to believing in vague metaphysical concepts that are identified by the same words. Cheers.
Ah. Ok. My take on the compounding mechanism as it is applied to an investment that has a yield (interest) in that there is usually a set period of time (often 12 months) where the investor gets a return at a fixed rate. At the end of the term there is a payout. The compounding mechanism is triggered when the investor folds the interest back into the original principal and goes for a second round. Often there is an adjustment made to the rate of return but the key factor is that interest is now being earned on a larger principal. This means that the second term yield will be a larger amount than the first term yield. Do this again for round three and then four etc and you see the “compounding” mechanism in action. The longer you fold the yields back into the principal the more dramatic the compounding effect.
When it comes to inflation, I don’t currently see a parallel mechanism. I see a variety of “market forces” at work such as demand and cost pressures, monetary policies, wage and productivity factors, currency fluctuations and global conditions. Non of these to my knowledge have a structural mechanism which when applied to said “force” creates a feedback loop of growth or accumulation. All of these work together for sure to create the conditions for an inflationary ebb and flow, but nothing uses the compounding mechanism which can be applied to interest. Maybe someone can correct this if wrong! Cheers.
While I can identify the mechanism for compounding interest, I cannot with see how the same situation exists with inflation. I’d be interested in seeing an explanation if possible.
Purposeful pleasure for the win!
Start by asking the question “how does a return of interest compound,” then ask “does inflation have the same compounding mechanism?”
Gm! Today I will work on my fitness, eat healthy food, love my family and work with diligence on my chosen focus. This is my recipe for a life full of meaning and purpose. 💛
Are the flower shapes the potatoes?
Yes it does look like water!💦
I have been married 36 years. I can vouch for this sentiment.
Agreed that some of the software experience is as addictive on pocket computers as it is on desktops. The reason I originally pushed back was that it wasn’t clear if the OP was wanting to throw the baby out with the bath water. It sounds like you are able to easily see the difference between a social media app and a video editor. I am often suspicious of someone who promotes a wholesale negative view of a mobile phone (pocket computer) because it really does scream lack of personal responsibility.
On a slightly different note, I guess these types of conversations will escalate as the phone is challenged by smart glasses. Just imagine how much attention they will consume when the tech matures! Cheers 😃
I have been meaning to look more into this! All the best 🙂
I actually did a similar thing a while back. What I have since found though is a bit of internal tension when reading a note that I don’t agree with, or I see for the hundredth time yet another rehash of the same note from an author. I want to acknowledge but somehow not suggest that I am encouraging them. I am looking for something neutral, something that lets them know that they have been seen without positive reward. Thanks for your input 🙂 Cheers.
Just going to push back a little on this…
1. Why single out men?
2. Following through for the sake of keeping your word can lead to disaster. Learning to cut your losses and move on is one of the most valuable skills to learn in life, as well as leadership, when it comes to both projects and people.
3. “Lying to yourself” is a statement that needs unpacking before offering advice. What does this even look like? Start by taking a fresh look at what a lie is.
4. If you aren’t sure you can do something, realise that this is probably the perfect time to involve others! Keeping ideas about what you would like to achieve to yourself makes no sense at all. There are all sorts of unlocks that can come from voicing your thoughts and ideas with others.
5. Speaking out loud only the things you intend on doing is a limiting rule. Again, there can be immense value gained in sharing ideas with others. Feedback in all forms and from as wide a circle as possible can make all the difference when setting intentions.

We have 3 adult sons who are the best of friends. I cannot express to you both how amazing it is to watch these types of relationships unfold. My boys are 31, 28 & 23. They have each other’s backs in a ferocious and loving way. I wish the same for you 🙏
The gap between the strings and the frets is called the action. Most entry level guitars are set up with a high action. A high action requires more effort (and often strength) to push the strings on to the frets. The lower the action the less distance the strings have to travel. Combine this with adjusting the truss rod which affects the longitudinal shape of the neck as well as the gauge of the strings (extra light, light, medium, heavy) you can influence how “playable” a guitar is. I sanded the bottom of the saddle to lower the action (bring the strings marginally closer to the frets). I haven’t played a steel string guitar for about 10 years so my fingers hurt 😬 Doing all of those tweaks have reduced some of the hurdles I have to jump to play again. Cheers 😀
Did some maintenance and a couple of small adjustments to the closet #guitar Thought you might like to see 🤷♂️

Gm you bunch of beautiful souls 🌞 ☕️
One way to look at the option of “banking” some of who you are is to look at it from the other person’s perspective. I presume there is someone who might be interested in your journey on this “plane of existence” enough to want to know what your thoughts were about said journey. There is a chance that your feelings about what makes us human are probably irrelevant to them.
Our go to for about 15 years was a Tupperware one. Simple rest on lid hand cranked. It died about 3 years ago. Now we are replacing once a year. Only option I can find are the ones that hang over the side. I have seen them as much as $50. 😬
In a world bubbling with incredible technological progress l am confused by the lack of decent can openers.
