I've made a point to try not to talk about family here, but I need some comradere

Sister is in town and has always been against me getting into Bitcoin and all of the change in health things I've done. It was one thing after I rode the bear market down, but now? I'm sick of it.

I finally addressed it directly and left room to say that it's fine if you're not into it, but you're direct negativity towards the things in building my life around is getting to a point where it feels like you're rooting against me. I'm just asking for some support.

All I got was an "I'll think about it"

I generally don't give people the time of day once I find out they aren't rooting for me to succeed (we all can win), but family? That's tough and we generally have a solid relationship otherwise.

Sorry, I don't use Primal much apart from posting podcasts but I thought I would share some of the work we are doing here trying to fix Bedford.

Beyond starting a football club and owning local businesses, I have become active in trying to fix the endless issues in the town.

We have economic issues, in that businesses are under pressure from the economic climate as well as growing government red tape. This is being compounded by a massive rise in anti-social behaviour. We have a plague of addiction issues, with large numbers of crackheads, alcoholics and shoplifters in the town. We have a rise in crime, including assaults on women.

This is not a good situation.

Two months ago I threatened the police, that if they did not fix the issue then I will. During August I am funding a private security initiative in the town, where 10 security guards will be deployed across the town as scarecrows, providing a security blanket for residents and businesses.

We have met with the local police and our activity will be coordinated with them. We are also trying to work with the local council too. I am considering establishing a shadow council in the town, outside of party politics, driving civic action.

Alongside the private security, we are building teams for cleaning, events and marketing to drive economic activity in the town.

I just thought I would share this. Bitcoin world has become a little stale to me, it is time to get out there and do things. The UK is pretty fucked at the moment so it is fight or flight time.

How do you deal with hunger when you're trying to eat less each day?

BIP 177 is terrible.

1. It will happen again: Multiple BTC "stock splits" will be needed over time. We will go much smaller than 1 sat. We can either create a new name for each of them or constantly change what "1 Bitcoin" means by adding or removing zeros like fiat does. To make matters worse, because it is an Ok move to make, each county can decide to redenominate BTC for their people. This is a can of worms we do not want to open.

2. Stock splits force updating the past since what was 1 BTC last year is now 100,000,000 BTC. All accounting records related to BTC must change. Since a lot of systems are stuck in time, it is likely that we will need to add date-and-timezone-dependent rules to adjust units when doing reports over old systems. This is equivalent to the current "daylight saving" problem, where each country has multiple historical tables to adjust time when doing reports.

3. The International System of Units never changes the unit of account. Users are supposed to add a prefix (nano, pico, etc) as things get small or (tera, peta) when they get too big. Keeping things historically sane significantly reduces the work of engineers. I don't need to remind anyone of the multiple mega bugs these types of conversion issues have caused over the years.
