Violinist and teacher, building a homestead on raw land in between lessons and concerts. Fascinated by how we can develop resilience in our lives, in our families, in our communities. I'm excited about freedom tech and circular economies, and am deeply grateful for the devs and advocates who are helping build tools for a better future.

Reading nostr:npub1trr5r2nrpsk6xkjk5a7p6pfcryyt6yzsflwjmz6r7uj7lfkjxxtq78hdpu's "Hidden Repression" atm 😳😬

It is a tough call which of the World Bank, the IMF, or the US Federal Reserve is the most oppressive AND actively repressive organisation

Worth a read but it ain't a fun one

Always better to be informed tho

I read it in December. It's good! yes, depressing af but important to know.

Pharma companies and policy makers. You know that the ever-growing Venn diagram that are their common goals and interests means bad news for everyone else.

I get occasional updates from a family member who has some insane colleagues. It's almost like they've taken all the crazy stuff they heard from the media and concentrated it until it's pure paranoia and hatred. And they seem to have come to a logical conclusion - that the government is lying to them and only cares about money and power - because they are now nearly alone in their hypochondria.

GM, rogue friends! If you missed the Samantha LaDuc exchanges and want a good laugh you can find her recent posts on Nitter. One of her nuggets of wisdom is that bitcoin can in fact be debased because it's divided into sats. There are lots of sats, and therefore there is no scarcity of bitcoin. I'm not sure how these folks ever make it out of a basic math class.

Anyway - I'm just back from a romantic snowy walk with my love, and getting set up for an afternoon of online teaching and other computer work.

Hope that those of you in the cold are nice and cozy today! I love seeing updates on how everyone's handling the weather.

Thank you! I think I came across this a while ago and probably blanched when I saw mention of "battery acid." (though honestly I have no idea what battery acid actually is). I've saved the link and your notes about sulphuric acid.

I just realized that I haven't checked in for days!

#31days

My back is on the mend but I'm still moving fairly slowly, so I'm sticking to walks for now - but I've been doing several long-ish walks every day. I haven't been timing, but probably more than an hour total.

Ok, great. This is good to know!

We have meat rabbits and so far have just been composting the furs, which seems like a waste. I don't quite have the bandwidth to start working with them yet, but that pickling solution question had been bugging me.

Now that you've resolved that for me, it's time to start saving the skins! Then I'll have several when I'm ready to tackle a new project.

Nice to see this! One of my favorite things to freeze dry is bone broth. Kind of a pain to set it up (best to pour it when the trays are already in) but it's so good to have our own broth in a form that will store almost indefinitely.

If we're ever set up to use our freeze dryer again, I'll definitely be trying more meats! Your trays are very inspiring 🀩

6 months after we though we solved this problem, the basement had flooded again after just a typical rain.

So much of my stuff is ruined. Boxes of electronics and Dover stuff I had to put up in the studio when it was done.

An entire box of bitcoin books, including my signed Fiat Standard from nostr:npub1gdu7w6l6w65qhrdeaf6eyywepwe7v7ezqtugsrxy7hl7ypjsvxksd76nak, same with my Bullish Case signed from Vijay, 7th Property from Yakes

The motherboard I fought with for months to get repaired, soaked completely through.

This is a fucking shit show. My whole show setup is down here. Don’t even know what to do honestly.

I'm so sorry to hear this, Guy! That really sucks

Sometimes I think they're trying to say it without actually writing the words. This headline is a far cry from "it's climate change" or, one of my favorites, a wave of heart problems coming from "gardening"

There are silicone bags that are tough and reusable. I'm assuming that silicone is safe for food, but in any case I would think that it's as safe/safer than plastic.

Not cheap but they should last a long while.

welcome to Nostr! Stacking now, even with small amounts, puts you way ahead of the game in so many ways.

Soon - if it hasn't already happened - you'll realize that learning about bitcoin gives you astonishing insights into many different areas.
