Bastiat already explained all of this to us, but here we go again...

nostr:npub1yzvxlwp7wawed5vgefwfmugvumtp8c8t0etk3g8sky4n0ndvyxesnxrf8q i cant make a wallet with you no matter what name i pick, always says name is already used. Is it broken atm?

nostr:npub10td4yrp6cl9kmjp9x5yd7r8pm96a5j07lk5mtj2kw39qf8frpt8qm9x2wl I'd love if the moments section in 0xChathad an option to view from relay(s). I think it would work well with the setup, perhaps trusted relays you want to read from outside of your contacts but not entirely an unfiltered 'global' experience.

1. Download citrine app via zapstore. Start it up in the app so the local relay is running

2. Download Samiz app from zapstore. Start it up so that samiz is running ( requires bluetooth on)

3. Download OxChat from zapstore. Once youve logged via your nsec or with amber, go to the relay section in settings. Add 'ws://127.0.0.1:4869' to the app relays.

That should do it. If you set up a second phone in this way, turn internet off on both phones, you can test and see if you can message between the phones offline.

my relays appear to be irreparably fucked...there are like 80 relays and i can't erase most of them when i try through various clients.

sigh

Th Samiz + citrine + 0xChat android combo is a pretty impressive idea, where you have a relatively seamless fallback to local bluetooth mesh when you lose connection to relays you are using for messaging and posting. t is fascinating to me that the consequences of Trump admin's action will, in some ways, result in outcomes that many Dems would claim to want and that traditional Repubs would claim are to not want...but i suppose it's a reflection of how tribal politics are as it has nothing to do with outcomes and everything to do with just having your dude in the office (or more optimistically we are seeing the evolution of the two parties in real time as their constituent bases shrink/grow)

I am an old(ish) fart but sometimes I learn new things. Figured out how to use Stremio effectively on the old linux box we use to interface with the TV, goal is to get all of this streaming shit outta here ๐Ÿค™

1000 sats for a anon private email address

Great for a 2fa email to not link back to a kyc'd email

Use an LNemail for the "verify recovery email" to create anon proton email accounts so you can use proton to register on third party services

Whoa cool

nostr:npub1qny3tkh0acurzla8x3zy4nhrjz5zd8l9sy9jys09umwng00manysew95gx im stealing 'technically curious' as how i will describe myself too ๐Ÿ˜…

I use a flint 2 for my router. I have it setup with one network that runs over my VPN, and one network that is a guest network that runs over clearnet. I'd like to have a third network that is just LAN, but I can't see how to do that in the admin. Anyone have experience with setting this up?

Hey, I'm having trouble connecting to nostr.land relay on a couple of clients today (tried jumble and nostrudel). My acct says I have time left, is the relay down ?

Meeting of the hummingbirds. They were chirping and yapping it up!

How to help to test nostr:nprofile1qqszfrv3m6acxyqy4ghuega2n74rntkrfg9sp4pmse94vul56gnul8cpz4mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfduhs33xu96 at home:

1. Download, install, and configure a local Nostr relay (e.g., #citrine).

2. Download, install, and configure a Nostr client (e.g., #amethyst).

3. Connect Amethyst to Citrine as both the input and output relay. To avoid false positives, it might be better not to have any other relay configured.

3.5. Test that Amethyst is indeed sending notes to Citrine, that it saves them, and that they can be viewed in Amethyst.

4. Download and install nostr:nprofile1qqszfrv3m6acxyqy4ghuega2n74rntkrfg9sp4pmse94vul56gnul8cpz4mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfduhs33xu96 from its GitHub page https://github.com/KoalaSat/samiz/releases, the IzzyDroid repository, or nostr:nprofile1qqs83nn04fezvsu89p8xg7axjwye2u67errat3dx2um725fs7qnrqlgzqtdq0.

5. Completely disconnect the device from the internet (airplane mode), ensuring that Bluetooth remains activated.

6. With all three apps running on the same device, start a session in nostr:nprofile1qqszfrv3m6acxyqy4ghuega2n74rntkrfg9sp4pmse94vul56gnul8cpz4mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfduhs33xu96 by pressing the "Start Session" button.

7. Confirm in the Logs view that nostr:nprofile1qqszfrv3m6acxyqy4ghuega2n74rntkrfg9sp4pmse94vul56gnul8cpz4mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfduhs33xu96 has received the test note that was created earlier (what is displayed is the note ID).

8. Create a new note in Amethyst and confirm again in the Logs that nostr:nprofile1qqszfrv3m6acxyqy4ghuega2n74rntkrfg9sp4pmse94vul56gnul8cpz4mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfduhs33xu96 has detected it.

This covers the basics. If someone is lucky enough to have a second Android device, they can test further by following steps 1 to 6 on the second device. They should then be able to receive and view notes created on the first device from Amethyst on the second device.

Finally, hereโ€™s a video from a user showing how it should work:

This is awesome

Hey, here are some recommendations / things i've noticed :

1) Bug -- When trying to input media servers, i type one letter and it takes my cursor out of the type field. So, I had to copy and paste to make it work otherwise you type one letter, then need to click back into the field, over and over.

2) Bug -- When trying to utilize the email alerts, I input my email and click to create the alert on my relay. I get an error message that says 'Cron Expression "0 46 NaN***" is invalid'. I do still receive the anchor email asking me to confirm my email. When i click 'confirm alert' via the email I received, i get a 502 bad gateway problem loading page. back in flotilla, the daily alert has been created but shows 'error' in red next to it.

3) Recommendation -- Add DMs or 'Messages' as labeled in flotilla, as an option for receiving alerts.

4) Recommendation -- Search functionality in the threads / calendars / chat sections for the space will be required to be able to look back at conversations. In addition, in the threads / calendar sections, the ability to hide / archive (perhaps swiping away to the left or right or something), as well as sorting / filtering functions (sort by date...filter by unread threads or threads in past 30 days, for example).

Side note: I am really impressed with the combination of using a relay for the spaces to facilitate the group / community conversations, and then the practicality of using nip 17 DMs for private DMs and private group chats. Just running a nostr relay tray relay on my home computer, it gives the user a very easy interoperability experience when logging in from multiple devices, feels slick but the infrastructure supporting it is something i can operate from home even (not saying that's great choice but it's doable).

I will! I ll make sure to write them down next time im messing around with it.

I just did a lot of testing, this time I used a nostr relay tray (https://github.com/CodyTseng/nostr-relay-tray) to test and was able to get notifications to work , which was pretty cool to see. Notifications don't work for DMs between two users, which I think for what is set up makes sense as it is out of scope of the alert set up. But, I think yo should add a checkbox to add DMs as an option to be alerted of any DMs (looks like kind 14/1059) that come through on the relay too.

I got notifications to work successfully with my relay.tools relay as well on my android phones. Not sure how i fixed it, but works with and without auth ๐Ÿค™

I am having a heck of a time uploading media in flotilla though...tried using several media servers ( nostr.media, nostr.build, paid cdn.satellite.earth sub ) but it seems to rarely work...provides 'failed to upload file' as the error message.

nostr:npub1jlrs53pkdfjnts29kveljul2sm0actt6n8dxrrzqcersttvcuv3qdjynqn im testing latest flotilla. Trying to get the new notifications to work with my nip 42 relay. I think im not getting them because i dont have an invite code for my space, perhaps? How do i generate an invite code for my space as the owner of the relay ( relay.tools relay) ?

I think i found how to generate invite codes, but i still cant successfully receive alerts even after inputting the invite code as part of my alert setup
