Hear about it on X from the Bitcoin community. Got Damus and played around with it a bit. From there, I used X a lot and Damus once in a while.
Eventually I tried out Amethyst. Experiencing all the flexibility of the client made me realize how cool the ecosystem really was.
After a few months, I decided to leave all other social media platforms and go Nostr only.
G Swan said I owned my profile and could move it around in 23/23. Then I found damus

I haven’t done centralized social media in many years because it was painfully obvious that I was the product, and the privacy concerns I had turned out to be even worse than I imagined. Not to mention the anxiety and conflict driven algorithms that they all employ. All I wanted was a place where I could learn from and interact with the best minds in Bitcoin, preparedness, permaculture and philosophy, and stay up to date on the security, regulatory and technology aspects of BTC. Nostr is it.

We were drawn to Nostr by its decentralized nature and focus on privacy and freedom of speech—just like how JoyID offers full control of our digital assets without the need for custodians. We're excited to be part of this community!

I then was told I could get my account back quicker if I "admitted' to promoting self-harm. As a doomscrolling addict back then.. I clicked SUBMIT. Like a fucking idiot. Moments later I terminated my twitter account upon realizing that I felt like I had just been fucking blackmailed by Twitter.
Did not take very long to find out about some shit called Astral and the rest is history!
