yeah, probably i will get the really big one from Cherry at some point, and a set of cherry silver switches to go with it, 140 keys, 7 vertical, room for everything

yes, that's an idobao ID75 ortholinear mech keyboard with gateron clear short actuation distance and nice soft 35nm... saves me a lot of strain with my typing, i just wish it had another 5 columns on it so i could have an actual dual shift/alt/control and a numeric keypad, but apparently the market for ortho keyboards is small, i got my first one back in 2008, typematrix... killed it in 6 months like i always do with scissor membrane keyboards

indeed, as i was walking back home with the big view of the ocean you can see in my profile banner, the colour was very like the blue you have in that painting, intense azure and ultramarine... most of the time so far while i've been here it's grey because of the constant cloud cover but i think summer is here, and this painting will remind me of the ocean also just out my window

the painting from nostr:npub17nd4yu9anyd3004pumgrtazaacujjxwzj36thtqsxskjy0r5urgqf6950x arrived today, perfectly intact, although for some reason the people at the cafe where i picked it up from had opened it by mistake

i don't think it's gonna live in that exact spot permanently, but i wanted to get it up on the wall, the silly stuff in the background is quite silly

i love the electric combination of that coral pink and yellow lit clouds and the intensity of the blue in the clouds above it is not really captured in the photograph

thanks Carlo, i will enjoy having this around me to make the place look better

my main concern is that this "we'll be back to help later" was a misintepretation of what was actually said, because we are gonna see 95% of the human population wiped out this time, optimistically, if we are only able do what is practical now to survive it

just because cargo cults are usually about "when the gods come back" and they never do, but i dunno, i don't think Enoch was exactly not well studied, and some of the other stuff he says, trying to describe in detail the laws of celestial motion and the seasons and so forth, it just doesn't seem like he was as primitive in his understanding as maybe other writers were

john the prophet also was pretty detailed in his description of what the angel showed to him... and near the end of the book he even reports that he went to prostrate himself before the angel and the angel says "don't do that, i'm the same as you" or some words close to this.

i see them as a subspecies of human, from the same root, whose different constitution allowed them to become spiritually advanced

they clearly had some kind of "flying chariot" technology as well as being able to project themselves into people's minds and communicate by what could only be described as telepathy

you have to keep in mind that the other humans, who are like us, were not a lot different to the modern example of the isolated polynesian tribes who were visited by an american army pilot who crashed on their island, and the way they recorded the story was greatly amplified and primitive in that they saw what to them was miracles, these weapons that shot "lightning bolts" and "spinning flaming swords" (which were probably also some kind of energy weapon)

and we all have the genetics of these angels in our family lines dating way back to the time of Noah, 10,000 years ago, indeed according to Enoch that was part of the problem that led quickly to the sodom and gomorrah and tower of babel situation which i strongly suspect dates to 6000 years ago, as there is a global disaster every 6000 years, but it's every second one that is bad, like Noah, and the other one is more mild, like what happened to Sodom and Gomorrah - impactors from space formed from a solar superflare that ejected a massive amount of material that condensed and smashed into many places across the planet, there are stories of these, sometimes described as "great fiery dragons" in norse mythology, for example, and the likely cause of the desertification of north africa and the middle east

and i also think that minimizing the amount of "authorized" bible texts that contained more detail about the interbreeding of angels and humans was part of the agenda of the Council of Niceae (sp?) because they wanted to suppress what was at the time common knowledge, and purged Enoch from most of western and central europe, but the text survived not just in eastern europe, but also in ethiopia and in israel as well (all three religions/denominations accept Enoch as canon) but this wasn't available to those central/western europeans between the formation of the catholic church and the discovery of the Ethiopian Orthodox text, and more recently extensive fragments of Enoch were found in the collection of documents found called the Dead Sea Scrolls

i think that the evil ones have tried to hide the facts from people and promote instead this idea of disincarnate beings and muddled the translations to obscure this - even the official canon books in more modern translations have many hints and references to this that were curated out of the versions we are more familiar with.

this is my rational, scientific view based on history and psychology, and the documents themselves, and that if the texts say that they were going to come back before the next disaster, they are about due to appear and fulfill their promise to end the rule of Satan and his cult of death and decadence, very soon.

such as?

i don't see how not appreciating removing user controls from the mempool is of any benefit to bitcoin, is an argument in favor of big blocks

we already got a block size expansion from the segwit discount. if anyone is serious about closing that hole they would remove that discount, this would stop spammy data being pushed on the chain by raising their scam costs above their potential profits

you have to read between the lines a bit but the fallen angels transgressed by fucking human women and breeding hybrid giants and this was said to be a very bad thing

i think it wasn't just the fact they made hybrid offspring but the fact that they basically raped and abused the mothers as well, treating them like a bad cattle farmer, and it was forbidden to breed angels with humans because of this hybrid problem, there is also more about this and what Jesus actually was, was put in Mary by the angel Gabriel, a carefully crafted embryo of a carefully designed human/angel hybrid, who was then also trained and sent to many teachers from age 12 until he started his ministry in his 33rd year

it's more clear in other apocryphal versions of genesis like Jasher and Jubilees but it's also very clear in all versions of the apocrypha Enoch in all three versions, jewish, eastern orthodox and ethiopian orthodox

i know a lot of christians disregard those texts but i think they are foundational and they are very consistent between them, mostly just more detailed than Genesis, and i'm of the opinion that they are historically factual in most respects though i think that some of the details are not quite correctly carried forwards, like the family timeline and ages of the antediluvian tribe of Adam, i think there is errors in the timeline of that because the geological evidence says that it was 12000 years ago there was a global catastrophe of the scale described of Noah's journey on the Ark, which puts Adam at closer to 15000 years ago (so, 13000BC is adam and 10000BC is the flood.

it got so bad already in Noah's time there was the Flood also, again, reinforcing the point that violating the rules of marriage, defined in Genesis, is sinful and i can't respect a priest who advocates for sinners in the absence of a mandate for redemption of said sinners

and from my perspective, if i have had to correct myself to conform to the Law then so does everyone else, the very definition of "man made law" is precisely its lack of universality, rules for thee, and not for me

elon musk hates bill gates

so he has that going for him

gates is claiming that cutting all that pork that is just going to activists that are undermining common decency is going to kill children

whenever bill says he's saving people, he kills them

so when he says something will kill children, that means that he won't be able to kill so many children

bill gates is so evil it's disgusting, and a sign that any media that doesn't question his absolutely disgusting record, such as the millions of indian women who died because of his vaccination program, or his promoting of covid coercive sales of pfizer and moderna poison

fuck that man, i also hate him, and i have dozens of other reasons why, he ruined the software industry too

https://www.zerohedge.com/political/new-pope-elected-white-smoke-billows-vatican

new pope is from chicago and hates normal families

i jfc they are doubling down on this in the vatican

anyone who hates abuse of children and perversion is bad, apparently

i think this means i really can't gather with people of this denomination actually

turning the other cheek doesn't mean baring your ass for the abuser to sodomize you

because the orange man wore a suit that was like ultramarine or delft blue or something, and these tards don't know the difference between bright as in tone versus bright as in saturation

yeah, it's total hype, there is literally nothing these things do that is actually useful

today i saw for the first time a blockchain project that doesn't have any links to a github or any documentation

we are in the end stage of shitcoins, they are about to start to quit bothering with designing new, retarded systems, and just roll out old style centralised data center based technology, but say it's a blockchain

This is not it, but yesterday, went to the track, my entry card didn’t work. This was the second time in a row that happened, and the clerk/guard at the desk who I’m friendly with frowned and asked if I was sure I had paid my monthly 16 euro fee. I said yes, I paid more than a week ago, and I was sure.

She said my payment wasn’t showing up in the system, and this was all in Portuguese which I only half-understood, so she brings a guy security guard over who speaks English and he says there’s nothing they can do, maybe I should bring a receipt?

And so I showed them my bank statement (compromising my privacy, but I did not give a fuck), showed the 16 euros taken out, and the dude said there’s no indication of the payee.

So I launch into an expletive-laden tirade mostly in bad Portuguese, some English (the expletives) how Portugal is a beautiful country, but the bureacracy in every smallest detail is destroying it totally.

Like I’m going to carry around a fucking printed-out receipt for my 16 euro track re-up, which I’ve been doing for three years? How many fucking receipts (the paper for which is toxic, BTW) should a person walk around with just in case some bureaucrat needs to check some box. And for what? To use the shittier of the two outdoor tracks at the college which usually no one besides me is even there?

The guard I’m friends with apologizes, says it’s not her fault, but in a bureaucracy two things are always true: (1) No one in particular is at fault; and (2) It immiserates and destroys the spirit of everyone.

So I’m like fuck this, start heading back home, but I just took a metro to get here and walked half a mile, so after about 100 meters, I turn back around and say fuck it, I’ll just pay the one-time fee of three euros for this time and quit forever when I’m done. Even though I already fucking paid, and last month I had to pay 47 euros for “segurança” (health insurance) even though I fucking have regular health insurance, the track wants it too.

But when I get back in, they’re like, “sorry, you can’t even pay piecemeal anymore." Maybe that’s when I really launched into the rant, I can’t remember.

Anyway, at some point she just says go in this last time, but I have to get it fixed half a mile away across campus at the shitty office where you have to wait like 20 minutes for an administrator to see you to get your sorted in the system.

So I run my four miles, my hamstring is sore anyway, and I’m thinking maybe I gotta fucking start doing yoga now instead, but I’m pissed because I bought these $130 running shoes that are great when I was in Colorado last month, but maybe it’s time to go easier on the impact anyway. And I fucking hate running, and the track is depressing. And by now all those mRNA compliant yoga pussies probably have sweat out whatever spike protein they’re going to shed already, and I can go back in finally. Can’t even imagine the cesspool of fucking spike say mid 2022 people were bathing in.

So I finish the run, am heading out past security again, and my friend, the woman, stops me, shows me her phone translated into English that she called the office, determined I had paid, but it never went into the part of the system that activates my card because of the blackout last week.

Basically she took some initiative, went the extra mile and got the entire problem sorted without me having to waste an hour of my life going across campus to the admin office. In my mind I had already quit for good too.

So I apologized for excoriating her entire country, thanked her for her good work and she seemed genuinely pleased as she should be.

it's had some effects here (madeira) even though we didn't get much blackouts... yeah, there was a blackout though, at least at my place, but everything was fine just up the road so i'm sure it was just shitty wires between me and the town center

anyway, the fun thing is that bitcoin doesn't fix this, because it's also dependent on electricity and the power went out over there longer than the mobile towers batteries last when there is a power cut

what fixes this is not pretending anymore that we are in a situation of stable internet and power supply, because it's going to get worse, a lot worse, over the next few decades, we are just moving up out of solar minimum and it was a geomagnetic phenomenon that caused the widespread blackouts in the iberian peninsula

there was a geomagnetic storm recorded exactly when the power grid started to fail in spain and portugal, but there was no significant activity from the sun at the time, no filament eruptions, no coronal hole blowing solar wind, no coronal mass ejection from a sunspot, nothing, it was quiet by looking at the sun, but GloTEC detected the atmospheric electrical spike at the time as well as NOAA's geomagnetic storm sensing systems

i think that this year we will see an uptick and then it's going to get steadily more frequent for at least the next 5 years, with a dozen or more major power grid failures, you may not have known this but puerto rico had a widespread power problem just before the iberian peninsula, and then there was another one, where was it again... oh yeah, the island of Bali in indonesia.

and this is just warming up, next month it is likely there will be actually more solar activity and if our magnetosphere is weak and full of holes you can expect a lot more times energy coming to ground and shorting out and disrupting power networks

it's like how a URL is a reference to another server, or an event ID refers to an event

i think that the mainstream finance tokens called "fiat money" and "stocks" are also scams, i don't think there is any use for them in a hard money economy

what most people don't understand is before credit overtook money in the early 20th century, people started businesses by saving money, and what credit there was available if you needed some more runway, was available exactly in proportion with the amount of savings that people who were willing to risk their money lending it were saving. this is Mises book Theory of Money and Credit summarized.

fiat money is a security, tokens are a security, stocks are a security, and securities are just scams, run by one group or another with varying levels of con-fidence in their scheme

since the inception of Public Relations per Bernays, they have found ways to trick people into believing bullshit so the Con is totally ruling the game at this point, and look at what shit it gets us into... WW2, vietnam, iraq, ukraine

i have lost count of the number of times gay facebook style popularity contest ideas have circulated so widely on nostr, you guys are pathetic

it's centralizing, and if you don't get it, i don't have time to explain. fuck off bytemasters

fun fact:

i live on an unlisted path, off an unlisted road, in a barely recognised little village next door to Boaventura in #madeira

i've made a change to the delivery of my parcel from italy from nostr:npub17nd4yu9anyd3004pumgrtazaacujjxwzj36thtqsxskjy0r5urgqf6950x but i'm a bit concerned the UPS driver isn't going to know where to stop and probably won't speak very good english. the postal delivery guy who has been bringing my amazon packages to the cafe/bar in town speaks no english and i just have to sorta hope he said what i thought he said and say "sim"

i hadn't got anything from amazon in the 5 months i've lived in this place up until last week, and now i'm trying to do it, man, so frickin complicated.

last thing before that was a shirt i ordered from the space weather news guy of their last edition of the "suspicious observers" tshirt but i got no call and they sent a customs extortion love letter to the address and it was already long gone and destroyed by the pigs in lisbon

the only positive experience i have ever had with ecommerce in europe has been in england and the local ecom networks and couriers in bulgaria, everywhere else has been utter shit, and anything coming from outside of europe is a total nightmare of bureaucracy.

i can't wait for europe to finally fall apart

they are fast-tracking the CDBC like they think they can save their hides by stealing peope's money directly from their bank account, or try to force people to spend their money by putting expiry dates on it

hurry up and shoot yourself in the foot already brussels. also, i'm getting really tired of the corrupt government "services" here in portugal altogether... the post, the tax office, it's all a clown show circus dog and pony extravaganza of retardation.

so often these things are written like java with VeryFuckingLongNames_AndSnake_Case_As_Well

ugly fucking shit, it's like, bitch, did you not read the Go guides to good idiom??? ugh... openapi generator is like that too, identifiers that are over 32 characters are from the Devil

feeling in a bit of a dark mood today... seeing my cat sick again is not doing good for my heart

i hope there is some good news soon

i've got the version that was released about 6 months ago, i think it's 25 also, not gonna upgrade it until this shitshow is over

yes, because the magnetosphere collapses every 6000 years, due to the combined magnetic fields of all the stars and large planets in our galaxy, in our orbit we go ~25000 years per orbit and the field is 360 degrees in that period, as it gets close to the next 90 degree shift it happens in a matter of decades, and we are coming up to one, that's why the auroras, the power outages, the polar ice melt (from UV where the shield is weaker at the poles)

idk about 300k years but for sure there is sufficient records that can be found hinting at the idea that humans have in living memory passed down through stories known about this cycle for at least 15000 years

modern humans have had their minds filled with such rubbish that almost nobody is going to be prepared for it, and much the same happened 12000 years ago, the 180 degree of the cycle is worse than the ones between and not only are we up for another one, it's almost certainly the worse ones... and the sun also blows up as well in this second cycle, what they are now recognising is a phenomena that all stars, due to the magnetic fields of the galaxy, triggers a "micro nova" and one was just spotted a few dozen light years away, in the area where we are currently headed.

i was just reading a section of the Book of Enoch the other day that describes the periods of days and months of the year, it was like 3 pages of 30 days this and some parts of day and some parts of night and stuff... tedious to read the way it was written but it sounded pretty accurate, even down to 364 days, which is pretty close, which is funny because Genesis says 360 which is obviously almost a week out...

nostr:nevent1qvzqqqqqqypzpxwrr3t524javfmgfh8jxymckaam2ztqda2selthhjdv3l3tcfhkqydhwumn8ghj7argv4nx7un9wd6zumn0wd68yvfwvdhk6tcqyq9cmv0j3raa8ej70hsccrarj5epthu42xu9tehsytphpckcm06pg6p34jj

nah, it's really just nip-98, was just a tool to let me extend the auth time window so i could use the standard REST docs interface, i just hate using nip codes because they are communist bureaucratic shit

meh, mine was just a simple one that uses nip-98 HTTP Authorization header, and extends it with an "expiration" tag to turn it into a reusable token

the actual thing is just "Nostr HTTP Auth with Expiration Variant" really.

using nostr signatures to sign documents is a cool idea tho

oh, that sounds like a robin, they sing right at dawn and sometimes randomly during the day and the ones in England that i saw they sat on top of the peaks of buildings to sing but the robins around here sit in trees and the only time it's been close enough to see it was too dark for me to spot it.

i think they are related to blackbirds, a lot of their behaviours are similar, though they are much more stealth mode

i think that's a blackbird nest, the eggs are blue and spotty and the nest itself is a work of art, the gals build those things longer than the bubbies live in them

yeah, it's the only thing that is in my world on a daily basis that makes me mad anymore because i just refuse to interact with the rest of it

so glad i was able to get out of the dense urban areas, all i hear is birdies and the occasional mewing cat and some cars driving past every so often, i can't stand the society anymore, it's gone right out into sodom and gomorrah territory at this point

what the unlimited #OP_RETURN retards don't realise is that a bloated mempool is the same as big blocks as far as concerns the average onchain user and node runner, they have to pay a higher percentage and shitcoiners WILL use it if the majority of nodes don't block relaying these transactions

it is a small comfort that it terminates tiny amounts of sats per transaction fee, when the transaction fees go past 20 and 100 sats/vbyte to open lightning channels and the minimum practical onchain payment size is increased because of the fee rate going above what you pay for a SEPA or SWIFT transfer, or worse, you get unlucky and set a fee rate that is currently ok and then shitcoiners pile in and your transaction is stuck 20 blocks in the future for the next month

oh, sure, they can do it already with witnesses but there is already policies people are setting on their nodes to reject relaying these

and that's gonna be how it is, bitcoin core opens this up, they are basically rugging themselves from being the number one node developers

so, good luck idiots, the people will decide, i run a node, i'm not upgrading it, so my node isn't gonna relay this garbage, even if it does relay garbage from witness bloat

if you really cared about bitcoin remaining within a good margin of useful on chain for everyone, and not forcing everyone to upgrade 3 years sooner for their full node's hard drive, you would instead be running a campaign to end segwit witness bloat instead

you are literally just surrendering to big blockers, just because they won in 2017 when they got the segwit discount

i personally would rather see segwit deprecated and eventually blocked once enough taproot supporting wallets and nodes exist, and we go back to 1mb blocks

i've been writing concurrent code for 8 years. i have also been writing code with reflection (aka introspection) for a lot of that time, i think sometimes you can call it "metaprogramming" - where you write code that writes code. I also have written lexical analysis programs as well.

i don't think you understand much about programming if you think reflection makes it "human" nor do i think you really understand that making golems (human-like machines) is a worthless activity, because we barely even understand ourselves let alone if we build something that simulates human, what depths of darkness will come of it because error is the rule in software, far worse consequences come from machine error than human because the machine inherently is going to be a lot harder to teach empathy.

i also have read a LOT of stories about artificial intelligence, and the theme of the lack of wisdom of machines is pretty much central to all of them.

the cybernetic apotheosis theme is another one and it always ends in a bad place, ultimately.

the whole subject is extremely nihilistic and inhuman. i'm done talking about it because you are just charmed by marketing from people who WANT to eliminate you from the world so they can just pretend they are gods and never have anyone disagree with them, because they programmed them.

like noah harare's speech about "hackable animals". you are buying into this narrative. it's not based on truth, and it's a game to get you to give up your sovereignty, it's got nothing to do with progress.

yeah, it changes the equation because those who were patient and saved have a different mindset than the spoiled brats born into privilege and instant gratuitous gratification. they invest in things that have long term benefits for everyone, increasing the common wealth faster.

precisely what communism promises but literally causes the opposite effect (because they abolish money altogether) - and they do it because they know that it makes them kings and pushes everyone down into serfdom.

if "tail emission" means changing the total supply forever then i'm against it but i thought it just meant smoothing the emission curve so that every block can have a slight reduction or more reduction depending on where it is relative to genesis.

it's not about abundance and clean energy, it's about how whoever prints the money has an unfair advantage against those who use it, and destroys the potential for saving and the austrian model of credit (which is far more limited and doesn't have any bearing on issuance).

without saving, the people who print money dictate the things that get developed and that is a minority and that amounts to a ruling class.

not only is it mathematically wrong to say it changes the supply, it is also extremely ridiculous to worry about the fact that 0.0000000000001% of the supply will continue to emit tiny nanosats long after we are all dead, it doesn't even affect now, it just removes the 4 year cycle of sudden halving of supply

the formula to interpolate the halving curve is precise, also, it's not going to change the supply, this is integer math

if you are against tail emission it's because you don't understand what it means

the retarded thing about the opponents to tail emission is that it doesn't change the supply

if i take a thing, and cut it in half, what is left? half

if i cut the half in half, what is left? a quarter

if i cut the quarter in half, what is left? an eighth

this is what tail emission means, not cutting it in half, but actually that instead of all the supply being out by 2140 or whatever, that's when the last 0.00000001% of it will continue to divide and by then with tail emission the precision would be 128 bits or maybe bigger

This make me thing about dynamic programming languages. I listened to this podcast with Steven Baker (https://open.spotify.com/episode/5X55PoHg5lhLUH7Z0IzUe7). Around 1:09 he talks about the runtime overservability of Ruby and Smalltalk.

Static language proponents live in a deterministic Matrix. They have to live with what they are. The are „human“. Dynamic language proponents live in a way more inspectable Matrix. They live with how something something behaves. They behave human.

A follow-up thought: would the agents be possible in one or the other? Would Neo be possible in one or the other?

nostr:note102c8jqzgwhcqj3a4tgu676m6n5cyph0eek583z9uhh36khj6gwxq823kep

#golang has a reflection system that lets you inspect everything inside the program and interfaces let you connect two things together that speak the same language (interfaces are APIs)

i don't live in a deterministic matrix

not only does my weapon of choice have reflection and interfaces (enabling swapping out parts for others, modularity), it also has concurrency which means it's more than your definition of "human" - it can simulate a whole ecosystem or factory production line with far less complex code than any of these garbage interpreted languages.

with the nasty, very changeable windy weather with frequent bursts of rain i have started to smoke cigarettes out the back window with a clothes line about a metre away

i have discovered that when i try to zoom focus to the line, my eyes are not lining up the images correctly because it is primarily horizontal

if i tilt my head about 30 degrees to one side, the left and right images come into convergence

the image is sharp, but double, and on this object about 50 centimetres away, the divergence from alignment looks like about a centimetre

i am not sure if this is muscular or neuromuscular, it seems like my eyes are lazy at converging, and this could be because the muscles have lost some amount of their fine control, which probably is caused by potassium deficiency

so can't wait until my potassium comes, damn

it's no wonder i have trouble reading text, because it's primarily horizontal also, and the same thing is happening, although not quite as extreme in the left and right, it's more one eye is looking at one point, and the other eye is looking slightly up to the right (left and right, respectively, i think)

my vision is fine apart from this, as this +1 prescription cheap reading glasses demonstrate, there's something wrong with the muscles that control focus and the muscles that fine-tune left-right

i really hope that the potassium is the trick, because i was taking it before and my problem with reading cleared up almost completely

when kidney function is poor, one of the things it does is eliminate a lot of potassium. there was a pre-existing earlier stage to this as well where for some reason i wasn't absorbing boron properly, and this was causing elimination of magnesium and calcium, leading to cramps, and it got ridiculously bad where i had trouble taking off and putting on my shoes, my toes would go into spasm and be all like twisted and shit, and my calf muscles would often go into spasm when i woke up in the morning

i know potassium helped so i'm confident that i will get better, and in the meantime these glasses are keeping me working more efficiently

i don't want to get used to them

an optometrist measured my vision when i was 27 and told me that i *could* benefit from a +1 prescription but at the time i was drinking a lot of coffee (which i think affects potassium absorption or increases elimination) and it was late in the day, she said it probably was just fatigue

yeah, now i know... fatigue and tannins, 30 years later. holy shit it was 30 years ago.

shows how much optometrists know about eye health, if they don't have half a degree in neuro-muscular mechanisms they are really actually hurting people

they are cheap because china doesn't buy stuff from USA and charges a fortune in import duties for it

i for one am sick of only having teh option to buy cheap chinese shit, i remember when nice italian and french kitchen stuff were commonly sold

this is for later work, anyhow, but as we have discussed the idea of making relays into caches for a bigger event store would require capping the storage use of the caches, evicting the least valuable data in the cache

relay operators could then run independent cache relays as part of their service offering and subscribe to the big store and save on managing their relay's syncing with the broader network (their relays would push to the store when they store and pull when they process requests, refreshing entries that may have found their way down to the end of the list)

i hate the EU... and i barely even need to walk an hour to the next town to be reminded of how fucked up "normal" society is, and i'm out in the boonies, and the next town is not much bigger than this one
