I've been wanting a DJI as well, really cool what you can do with them. Is it hard to fly?
This one has no proximity sensors lol so the odds of crashing are high, but I’ve always had a healthy disrespect for equipment lol 😂 so it’s all good

Nice. I should buy a drone to help me find good trails and dispersed camping sites. So many times I waste my time driving down narrow trails that only scratches my truck and leads to nowhere.
Frfr. The amount of times I've had to bail on our rig to scout things on foot or bike, then my kids want to come cause they think I'm never coming back 😆
😆...it's so tiresome to scout out trails on foot. Of course, when I do, the trail looks just fine, but when I don't, I end up on trails that keep getting narrower and narrower with no turnaround points...and then I get so invested that I reach a point of not wanting to return 😵💫
Been on a few logging roads where the only way out was through. Prayers were always answered somehow 😆

I really wish I had a better sense of how to get good b-roll. I feel like I'd be wasting precious sats if I got one because I wouldn't know how to use it properly.
It’s an art. Everyone always asks me what camera I use etc… but the truth is I mainly just use my phone, it’s the years I spent in film school and on set that make the difference in the final image.
The best Camera is they one in your hand.
Although, trying to get a good shot with a cell phone is aggravating. I prefer a DSLR/mirrorless with an 18-300 zoom lense.
I tend to be primarily iPhone based these days, but have been having fun getting back into actual cinematography
I'm guessing you have a gimbal and a tripod at the very least. Probably a good mic setup, too.
I'm finding that content > audio > video. It's tempting to go buy gear, but in the end, it's about the content first.
I have a great many things lol probably too many. The only thing I really recommend to people is a good quality Bluetooth mic that you can plug into the phone. That makes a big difference.

DJI bought Hasselblad… they are a gargantuan company and have streamlined content creation equipment to the smallest size and functionality to get people going.

Yeah the mavic pro and the inspire have hassleblad systems. This is one of the cheaper cameras, but if you fly it towards the sun you get good results.
The only thing that Hasselblad had of any value were their optical formulas, and rather than having Europeans make it out of glass they have Chinese factories, making the same optics out of plastic in the same way they do with eyeglasses now
I still pay extra for a glass lenses, but for practical purposes, there is no advantage, and plastic is lighter
I picked up a lumix gh7 and some leica mft lenses. Have been very happy with it so far. I thought about spending a lot more on a full frame system and in the end decided against it for now. Curious to see what Nikon does with video now that they own red.
I asked my Nikon rep what they will do with red, and he said that the tech has already trickled into their Z9 but will be much more evident going forward
They are still keeping the companies separate, but Nikon has the best color science, and RED has some of the deepest dynamic range, so it’s a good match,
It will be a decade+ of development before they really start pushing the 8K window with full frame glass, but it’s completely unnecessary for content that will be viewed on handheld devices
I own every focal length full-frame LEICA M glass and adapt them to my Nikon DSLRs, because there are now adapters that give Manuel focus glass from the 50s autofocus by pushing the lens forward and back from the sensor like they used to do with point-and-shoot film cameras 🤯
