99% Invisible

If you like sports, First Things First.

Millenial Media Offensive

Just one? The Survival Podcast. I have others too, but that's been my top listen lately.

Pirate Wires

I did a mini series in undergrad where I interviewed youth advocates who organized for change in the foster care and juvenile justice systems. Take a listen!

I have a list of 71. Would you like me to share?

How do I share a list of podcasts without you having to import them?

I dunno.

But if you like politics and stuff I got quite a few.

Python, flutter? I got you.

Mainstreamers? Got it.

Some obscure ones including my own? Check.

This:

but I've mostly been taking a long break from listening to people talk

Deep questions with Cal Newport

Have no clue if you'll like it but I thought the title itself might irk you 🙈

Techtonic with Mark Hurst

Thank you for your recommendations.

However as I read them I couldn't stop thinking how much better would it be if each podcast was a Nostr profile and I didn't have to search Kagi for each title expecting the owner to have created a dedicated homepage for their podcast otherwise having to click on some weird mix of Apple/Spotify/Spreaker/Fountain whatever platform that hosts pages for podcasts in order to read about them.

HubermanLab

Do you have a theme preference?

Darknet diaries!

Red cast , Fala Glauber

Monark talks

The Belief Hole. Amazing audio engineering there.

Founders

Making Sense by Sam Harris

I wouldn't say this is the absolute WORST possible answer, but given the option to listening to Sam Harris talk about evil while adhering to a worldview that has no objective standard for such OR being forced to listen to William Hungs hit single "She Bang" on repeat until death...I'd take the latter in a heartbeat.

shut the fuck up

Atheism leads to hopelessness and anger, I understand 🫂

sorry I'm just too drunk atm to understand such an elaborate prose so that was my knee jerk response

He rarely talks about that on his podcast.

NoDunks

The Magnus Archives is a fun (horrifying) journey. 200ish canonical episodes and lots of extra episodes.

Planet Money. Some episodes are really mindblowing.

Cocaine & Rhinestones, Dan Carlin's Hardcore History

Darknet diaries

It’s in the name

SleepyCabin, but don't ever expect it to come back.

hardcore history on Genghis Khan

I like the ww1 series the most

Best and most surprising one for me as someone that does not like country music.

Cocaine and Rhinestones - The History of Country Music

Awesome writing, research and storytelling - just a wonderful escape from the daily grind.

i used to listen to Command Line Heroes. i enjoyed the first few seasons, but stopped listening honestly when i became a bitcoin maxi. i ran out of time for it and removed it from my podcast list. one of these days i plan on catching up on the last few years of episodes.

https://www.redhat.com/en/command-line-heroes

Yeah, that was great (although skip the docker episode)

oh shit, I listened to season 1 but didn't know they had expanded to season 9 🤯

i stopped at season 4 or 5 i think? it's been a while.

Looks like those season didn't have the most interesting topics so I'm prob not going to listen to every one of 'em

Also read/listen the podcasts presenter William Dalrymple book "The Anarchy: The Relentless Rise of the East India Company" 🤌

Real Survival Stories

BrainWeAre eng version. These dudes are helpfull with bodyhacking af. Trust

The Smart People Podcast is one of my all time favs for a thought provoking variety show.

Business wars, the latest about Taylor Swift is nice.

Hardcore History. Easy recommend.

I was recommended Huberman Lab, but haven't listened yet.

I really like Huberman but some of his podcasts are way too long for me. There is a lot of techincal details and studies he cites which is hard to keep a track of throughout the episode

this!

but still I like to listen occasionally

Huberman Lab (health/fitness/science)

Alan Watts Being in the Way (philosophy)

Welcome to Night Vale (sci-fi, comedy)

Mises Media (Austrian economics)

The Cosmic Matrix (spirituality, but: DISCLAIMER: for whatever reason, I've never listened to a single episode of it yet. But I do follow one of the hosts (Laura Matsue) on socials and find most of the stuff she posts interesting & high signal)

and of course

AI Unchained (AI, duh) by nostr:npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev

Can't believe I forgot to shill my own shit

The Kontext Experience

(I haven't posted an episode in 1y+ but I swear the pod is not dead)

Check out Dark Net Diaries!

No.

Doug Casey's Take is a good one for geopolitical and economic analysis. It's not for the faint of heart or overly sensitive, though...

https://pod.link/1538161518

Thank you 🙏🏽 I do find Doug very interesting. He has had many great life experiences and is worth hearing.

I don't recommend him for religious advice, though he does have some respect for his Catholic schooling and the cultural milieu and freedoms the West had enjoyed thanks to Christianity.

No, you’re right there. I prefer him for his experience and lessons. I like his dogged determination to be a sovereign individual.

Hawk vs Wolf or The Nine Club, Dan Carlin's Hardcore History (currently not active, but the episodes up until last year are awesome)

Carlin appears to have tucked tail the last several years. Weak.

Dark Horse

Pints with Aquinas, Senso Incomum, The Counsel of Trent, Guilherme Freire, Centro Dom Bosco, Brian Holdsworth, Brasão de Armas. I listen to them on YouTube, not sure you can find them on podcast aggregators.
