In the Android world we have DeGoogled OSes like LineageOS, GrapheneOS, and /e/OS.
In the Linux phone world we have Mobian (Mobile Debian), Mobile Plasma, etc.. Linux phones work much better than people give them credit for. Linux phones do "convergence" better then any other phones. Convergence is when you use your phone as a phone, and you also dock it to a keyboard, mouse and monitor, and use it as your computer.

yes, specifically for note zaps. It must be clear its zapping to a profile instead of a note. If they don’t they will be at risk of getting pulled randomly like damus.
Not sure why podcasting 2.0 apps are allowed since this is the same as note/content zapping.

When reviewing wallets for walletscrutiny, I've noticed a trend with most "compliant" exchanges. They are playing catch up with a slew of regulations. Previously it was just KYC. Now, they also include in their terms, AML-FATF, terrorism funding, and other issuances. It's primarily because of the war in Ukraine + the onslaught of Fentanyl in the US. Many of these are transacted via crypto using unconventional means.

A generative web app is the way to go around this. People don't randomly find Damus on the App Store and download out of curiosity, they know it's there. They should be directed to the web app and given the 2-click installation instructions. Problem solved

"we" implying what - you are personally interested in financially funding the dev? i am not but please do should you find someone you wish to tether yourself to going forward forever in a stakeholder system. sounds like a nightmare to me. i think the point is: if jack is interested in the process himself, i was supportive with providing an idea, but he should want to develop it, genuinely. otherwise - he should stop focusing his attention on what he doesn't enjoy and falling prey to forever stake and endless "support" schemes which entrap his time and finances. etc etc. :).
Problem is... if you went far enough with hardware and software it would be far too threatening for the networks to allow such devices and so they would not. So then you'd also have to somehow launch and maintain an alternative global mobile wireless network.
Gotta say that I am extremely happy with a Pixel device (6a) running Graphene OS. I was expecting to have to make a lot of awkward compromises but I have not had to do that. My use-cases are probably atypical but I've been able to set up this phone to do anything and everything that I want and need to do with it and altogether it honestly works better - a lot better in every way that matters to me - than my prior Samsung-on-Android phone that it replaced.
I run the ooen source Linux PinePhone on T-Mobile no problem at all.
