Vlogging is becoming a thing on Nostr. I wouldn't do it unless suited and I had better internet speeds, and I'm in nature.

I use LibreWolf as the browser for Nostr, using Nos2X-Fox (Firefox version of Nos2X), but anything Firefox-based and hardened to the nines will do the trick.

That's my little trick to get Nostr working in my favor, but as Owen said, Brave would work decently well, but won't be too powerful without uBlock Origin MV2 (Manifest Version 2) variant (like I have in Firefox).

To compromise, I'd be happy to send over an Obsidian vault pre-made with Nostr Reader and maybe a couple other things installed as community plugins. All you'd need is Obsidian installed (the latest version will do), and I can send the vault over using something like Wormhole.

I'd be happy to take a Markdown file of what you were trying to write, and then post it as a long-form read, then linking to you. I did that one time for a new user, and she was pretty impressed with what I was able to do (just some re-formatting was what I did in Obsidian).

I was looking for an offline thesaurus and/or dictionary while writing one of my light novels, and realized that Obsidian might have one. Sure enough, there is a thesaurus plugin called Wordy, and a dictionary plugin by Phibr0.

The offline dictionary is 35 MB, but that's not bad all things considered. I downloaded the it so I could use it locally (of course, using npub18dlusgmprudw46nracaldxe9hz4pdmrws8g6lsusy6qglcv5x48s0lh8x3's method), and got Wordy on a sidebar so I can use that as an offline thesaurus if, and when, the FreeDictionary API isn't available (of if I just want the Wi-Fi turned off).

This will drastically improve my word choice whenever writing, and I'll be able to utilize it big time once I go through my other projects and re-word things a bit so I can know for a fact what I'm doing (maybe he could look into this plugin as well).

I might consider this combo in my Nreads vault (where I write my #nostr reads) and do the same exact thing here. I'll try it and see how this goes.

Only one person noticed why I currently have my PFP set to Clippy. This is because of a Louis Rossmann video that I went ahead and changed it on a couple of services and forums. Discord is absolute garbage. I stopped using it in 2020, knowing the writing on the wall.

Instead, I have Matrix (Nitro Chat being my homeserver of choice) and Nerimity (think a cross of features from Discord, Revolt and Guilded). Both of which are Free Software options.

If that would be replaced with something like stevia or agave, that would be pretty nice.

Also, I'd recommend ditch the Chromium-based slop (including Brave, except on an iOS device with Brave).

Learn how to harden Firefox-based browsers to the nines, and install a few plugins (uBlock Origin, LocalCDN, NoScript should be in all the browsers). Compartmentalize them for specific purposes so you don't get cross-site cookie-based timing attacks. For a #nostr plugin, I'd highly encourage Nos2X-Fox instead of Alby, as Alby tries to force itself to override Nos2X-Fox (in my experience).

I like to use Kdenlive as my video editor of choice. No Adobe slop necessary.

To clarify, he doesn't write using the Nostr Writer plugin (as he had no idea about it). However, he does write things inside of nostr to eventually copy and paste them. In my case, I can just post long-form and short-form notes using the Nostr Writer plugin.

Basically, there's an Obsidian plugin called Nostr Writer, which I have in a specific vault only for reads I write on #nostr. With my current vault, I've written 4 reads, though in a previous vault (that's since been deleted off of my drive), I made a couple reads using it.

It also has the ability to do regular, short-form posts, but no replies, which I'm alright with.

I bookmarked one of your notes, though I forget which one off the top of my head.

Basically, when I told Sokio about the zap features, he was kinda put off by that. He didn't want to set up a Lightning wallet (especially since we both use Nos2X-Fox), for fear he may be burnt to a crisp by bad OPSEC maneuvers (in other words, he would mess up his privacy practices).

That's why he doesn't want any zaps at this time.
