From the nostr archives: Kat's vision for Docstr

I wish it was revived and active. It was great listening to people and zapping them
Nostr Nests
Would love this as an extension
Gonna see what vibing does when I give it these screenshots
Oh have, no… it’s a concept. But it could become a reality!!
Nostr flashback - "nostr launchpad" a minimal extension for multi-key management + built in wallet connection + app launcher / discovery mechanism.
Agencies don’t need to invent any theories, the conspiracy nuts do a good job on their own.
Which government? 🤣 there are many …
Mostly comes down to costs. Modern vehicles have more constraints like fuel efficiency so that naturally leads to the same aerodynamic shapes.
Yep. Same in housing construction. When you standardize your materials you reduce costs.
I’d say it’s just catering to mass market appeal. Too unique means higher production cost and smaller target audience. They want to make sure they have a competing model for each target market so they end up looking the same.
People who can afford it don’t care about opportunity cost 😆
Sweet place

The plot seems really boring after you figure out what’s going on but the writers keep dragging it out, filling with useless details. It reminds me a lot of the walking dead - a show I enjoyed very briefly until I got really annoyed of all the ongoing dialog and no action.
On nostr we had a lot of people at one point and devs placed themselves as someone to follow but then most left and were left with some really skewed stats that are not even remotely close representation of actual nostr user base.
I’d love to see a tv show out of this concept

Fascinating presentation to explore for space nerds: 400 years in a tube 😬

I’m open to all sorts of music but haven’t been hearing much of anything decent
Did you read my note?
I buy only the best meats but they are on decline.
Also noticing more and more US beef on shelves. Disappointing. Must be a trade deal. Local (best) beef seems to be occupying less shelf space now. 😔
Noticed many products in stores are sneaky with labeling. They’ll say produced domestically but if you look closer, the main ingredients are not domestic. Getting harder to find 100% domestic products other than meats.
Why is trending / top music so bad?
Is it just a sign of me getting old? 😆
Either Damus or iOS bug. Video is bright and the rest of the app gets darker.
GM nostr ⛅️ ☕️

Need to do both - address problems here and still pursue technological advancement.
I think we’ll just have to wait for boomers to kick the bucket for issues to start resolving.
Because dropping the ball delays civilization scale progress and denies future generations opportunities to further our kind. It’s a multi-generational task to make progress in space which helps us develop new technologies and it’s every generation’s responsibility to keep things moving (hopefully faster than slower). If we want our species to advance, we’ll pursue space and not make up excuses for not doing it.
I’m off to bed, won’t be able to reply to you, ser.
GN nostr. I should have been asleep 2 hours ago 😱
Seems doable. You’ll need a small form factor reactor for sure. Something you can transport and assemble there.
Honestly, we should have had this already. The world dropped the ball after the Apollo missions and I’m glad it’s picking back up.
Use it to build a base …
Not a good situation. Ideally you would not need more foreigners - it would ruin Japanese culture over time.
It’s going to get much worse. Almost 30% of the population is over 65.
“The number of Japanese people living in Japan has decreased for the 16th consecutive year to about 121 million, marking the largest annual recorded decline of over 900,000.
The Internal Affairs Ministry says the total number of people living in Japan as of January 1 this year was just over 124.331 million, a decline of about 554,500, or 0.44 percent, from last year.
Tokyo had the largest population of some 14 million, followed by neighboring Kanagawa Prefecture with 9.2 million and Osaka Prefecture with 8.8 million.
Tottori Prefecture had the smallest population of about 534,000, while neighboring Shimane Prefecture had the second fewest number of people at about 642,600. Kochi Prefecture had the third fewest, with 665,000.
The population grew year-on-year in Tokyo and Chiba Prefecture, while the 45 other prefectures saw declines.
The number of Japanese residents was just over 120.653 million, a decline of about 908,600, or 0.75 percent, from last year.
Both the population decrease and the rate of decline were the largest since record-keeping began in 1968.
The population of Japanese residents has been declining for 16 straight years since peaking at more than 127 million in 2009.
Meanwhile, the number of foreigners living in Japan was over 3.677 million, up about 354,100 from the previous year. Both the number of foreigners and the increase in the number were the largest since record-keeping began in 2013.”
My primary is an M2 Mac Studio. I have a custom node which is basically a mini PC in an overpriced Fractal mini-ITX case.
Under the desk is a custom built PC. I’ve posted some videos of it here.
My desk at night. Sovereign electronics can be spotted.

Works! Could be improved I think. Show small previews instead of full urls. Have to wait for uploads to finish before I can write.
Ok. Will clear cache and check.
I’ll check after dinner. I just went to the url and tried
But it’s not generated on demand. Just because you can’t see all of it at once doesn’t mean it’s not there. Same as a tree falling in a forest - it fell, whether you were there to observe it or not.
It’s more likely that you are an NPC inside a great simulation with other NPCs and you all interact.
You mean Tina… right? Tina.
You try Pixelmator?
Seeing several sick kid npubs 🙄
The worst type of scammer would do that
Japan has been moving towards complete integration with the national ID recently. They’ve had it for a while, but now I’m seeing businesses being forced to use their scanning units. To get any service, you have to scan your card and then do a face scan. There is a button to refuse the scan which I personally press every time - but my guess this is just a warming up period until they completely remove that option. It’s creepy and dystopian but is quickly becoming the norm. Last year it wasn’t really a thing but now it’s rolling out in more places.
Can we send JD Vance for another speech about freedom at some EU gathering? 🤣
