My dad passed away today. I knew it was coming and am glad he is no longer suffering, but Iโm really gonna miss him.

I'm so sorry. I felt the same when my mother and father passed. I felt guilty because I was glad they passed. Better to pass than to suffer. Mom had stage 4 pancreatic cancer. We all took turns taking care of her at home because.. she wiped all of our shitty asses, fed us, and made sure we didn't die young. It's hard to lose them but the suffering part is shifty. It never gets easy but you make room for it.

hey Nos. i see myself in your words. my Dad died last year from a long long (years) on again off again illness. i was relieved for him and for everyone else who was affected by the suffering.
the thing is: he's more with me now than he ever was when he was still alive. he continues in me. i find comfort and joy (took a while) in that.
