Damus really needs the ability to mute threads. The app is becoming useless with all these huge stupid notes with hundreds of tags. I’m missing lots of important notifications.
(and before anyone says, ‘but app xxxx has this feature’, yes, I know, I’m talking specifically about Damus here, thank you for your concern)

The entirety of my mentions every time I open the app is people complaining about damus. Finding myself not wanting to open the app as much these days. I have been working 24/7 since December and even pushed an update in the air on the way to CR. Reminder I’m not making any money on this app and its still a passion project is slowly bankrupting me. Sorry if I’m not working hard enough 😕

That's not fair, not at all. Delegate some of the work to friends or users who do care. The vast majority of us are developers at this point, and I think there are plenty of things you could ask for help with.
I've worked alone on a massive, almost legacy, project before... it was the longest and fastest year of my life. I did so because of loyalty to the Founder who'd lost his way. The best thing I did was ask for help. Really.

Don't get burned out. I'm on Android so I don't use Damus, but from what I've seen it is one of the best Nostr clients out there regardless of platform. There will always be complainers. Focus on the people with nice things to say and keep building the features that you feel are important and worthwhile. You clearly have an amazing head on your shoulders, but even the best heads need some rest.
There is plenty of time for building, so always make sure to take time for yourself too.

Yes, Vancouver has one of the highest costs of housing in the world. Income taxes are higher, property taxes are higher, sales taxes are higher, and taxes on energy are higher.
And then the really kick is that in most industries the pay is 15-30% less. We make 30% more in the province we live in vs. living in BC.

If so, let me state that it was never my intention to create bad feelings. It is always easier to adress things that can be improved than starting with something new. You have started something new and now the folks are chiming in. It is a good sign, but I understand it can be tiresome.
Regarding passion project: Maybe it is time to introduce a premium tier? You should definitely be able to live from this project and I am 100% sure it is possible. I have created and reviewd business models for many clients with way worse products that still turned out to be successful. Damus is already way ahead of a MVP. If you need support in finding a working business model, I'd be glad to help.

Don't pay attention to people like that. They don't have a technical background and don't realize how much hard efforts go into app creation. I do troubleshooting for an app that is used by huge businesses, and even it has trouble. No app will ever be perfect. Take them with a grain of salt. This is a fantastic app and people are regarded. I get highly regarded too sometimes due to anxiety. I tried others but use this most of the time. It really is terrific. 😍🤓
We should figure out a healthy way for client developers to make money, at least to sustain themselfves to continue the work. Although zapping as a donation might help a bit, but we can't simply rely on people's kindness. It's not a charity. And I believe #[4] will eventually get the reward from this investment.

Social software products are fierce. Twitter is the top product of social products, which is difficult to surpass. But Damus, this product also has its own characteristics. Products with development potential.

I don't use damus, I'm on Amethyst, but from what I can tell, a lot more effort has gone into Damus as a whole, and it runs better than what I'm experiencing

Don’t be too harsh on #[4] - he’s a decent bloke and I believe he was just venting his frustration. We all got annoyed by the Hell/Death threads and we are free to express ourselves here - which is great!

This is a fiat statement. Find solutions and/or pay #[2] for the hard work he is doing. You are using a product he spends his time and money on to provide. If you want it improved do something. And by do something I don't mean complaining on the internet.
