Probably insane folks not being open enough to welcome other insane folks. Nostr needs to break it's tribalism. Many related communities should be here: GrapheneOS or Svelte people (just to mention two) should not be hard to welcome here, but yet are still repelled by our self validated "insanity" or current size or current onboarding process.

I'm not saying you're wrong. I remember bashing my head against the wall making a quick client for myself when badges.page didn't work for me. Just curious what you dislike about it or how you think it should have been speced
if the implementation is just about spamming a bunch of images at your friends that you decorate on your wall like an over-enthusiastic boy scout, then thats not really what I was thinking when I came up with the idea of the badge spec. maybe more concern is more of how its currently implemented in clients.
It does actually suck and it’s weird that nobody has addressed it in the past 2+ years, but I get that it’s not a huge priority.
Tis the nature of decentralization. Everyone can make badges. The trick is being selective about which ones you put on your own list. Not sure how clients could implement any differently. Also rarity based on pow is ALL wrong. Rarity should clearly be a ratio of total trusted pubkeys to awardees.
